    Just the kind which i wanted, no annexing new territory.

    • @flame9826
      @flame9826 Год назад +8

      Yeah, new territory annexation was very unlikely. Only the spread of the ideology was likely. Or keeping it. I mean, Burkina Faso would keep being Socialist and spread it to other countries around, and DRA would have been victorious in the Afghan war.
      In other aspects, well, USSR wouldn't survive with the lack of technology, so, let's assume the leaders weren't too corrupt and accepted OGAS, boosting the Soviet economy and avoiding Perestroika, as well as continuing the scientific and technological advancements. This would turn into an example for other Socialist states, and they would get the advantages of it too. The Computerized planned economy would become a stronger counterweight for Neoliberal reforms, and it would cause problems for the positions of Capitalism in third world countries and create a positive showcase for Socialism.

    If Gorbachev made sure to save and secure his political system...
    (After 1991) see 1:11
    It was according to Wikipedia that Yanayev died in 2010, not 2011 see 1:29

    You didn't reveal some important informations like GDP, population, does NATO expand towards Soviet borders in 1997, their relations with Europe, US, China and India and is the Soviet Union in this timeline really socialist or its capitalism under hammer and sickle like modern China

      @@hoodedleftest8414 Ok, we could see Soviet economic miracle happening (1995-), Soviet economic miracle would be much more explosive than the Chinese one because the Soviet Union has natural resources that China doesn't, so we could imagine that Soviet nominal GDP today in this alternate timeline is $18.4T US dollars or ₽22.8 Soviet rubles (because Ruble would be one of the strongest currencies on the planet in this timeline). The Soviet Union would keep having bigger population growth than US (Like in real timeline) which would in this timeline continue because the Soviet Union doesn't fall apart so the Soviet population would today be 422.8 million, for the contrast, American population would be 350.2 million (like in real timeline, I don't know if this is true number). NATO would expand in 1997 by admitting Poland, Czech republic and Hungary into the alliance, in 2004 by admitting Romania and Bulgaria, in 2009 by admitting Croatia, Slovenia and Albania into the alliance and in 2017 by admitting Montenegro and North Macedonia into the alliance, expansion would stir up tensions with the Soviet Union, who would now seek better relations with China and Iran to counter NATO, Hungary would leave NATO during Orban's era to build better relations with economically strong Soviet Union. With Soviet mediation, relations between India and China would be somewhat better, Pakistan wouldn't pose any threat to India as they would be surrounded by Pro-Soviet Iran and India itself, also, America would keep Pakistan as an ally to counter the Soviet Union and China in the region, North Korea would also economically be very strong in this timeline and they would not build nuclear arsenal as they would have Soviet Bear and Chinese Dragon protecting them. Many in this timeline would see this as a Second Cold War after brief detente 1985-1997.

    Although this is alternate, the users downfall or collapse was an inventible fact regardless of ur polictal standing. Russia can't vs the Chinese and their rise to power China from the 90s onwards was beacome un questionable super power and the ussr trying to compost eith nation that would control over 60 percent of the world's rarest resources for decolpment of armies cival goods etc would be a mistake. I do not see the ussr being a powerful state within this time inless Russia and China put their differences aside for brief period of time to wipe the west.
