A few comments on things that I'll further explain in the post-release but that are probably pretty useful right now: -One thing I should have mentioned more is that you CAN go for low ER and burst every other rotation, and it's not that bad. It can definitely work, but it's very hard to fit in anemo units because it'll be hard to swirl electro, and anemo often makes quicken feel a LOT better. -In solo dendro quicken, he's ok. I'd generally rather play the off-fielders because he'll struggle to trigger a lot of Fischl A4s, meaning he doesn't synergize with what's generally the best quicken units too well, but he can get the job done

Al’s burst gives him the mirror stack after the burst animation is done, so if you’re quick enough with switching characters, you can slip in other characters elemental skill in between his burst duration to save time.
Sorry to interrupt you zajeff I have one question:. I already have all dendro characters besides alhaitham and I'm stuck between yelan and alhaitham who should I get? Aside from that I do only have 2 hydro characters but. If I didn't say that I have more dendro than hydro units who would you say I get?

As someone who loves childe's high risk high reward gameplay (and being able to massacre enemies with riptide lol) alhaitham is super fun and feels great to play. On-field enablers are my favorite character archetype.
I like how now you can play Childe International with Al-Haitham Nahida Kuki Xingqiu (or Yelan), very strong teams with two husbandos that do not steal units from each other and just so fun. I wish I got Al-Haitham, I lost 50/50 with Tighnari, so I use Nahida Kuki Xingqiu Yelan instead...
Started playing this game two years ago and watching your videos made me realize I need to stop randomly pressing buttons and actually do something akin to a rotation. Keep up the great work.
he really feels like a Dendro Childe, and equally rewarding once you figure out the different ways to play him. I dont see any cc mention this, a simpler way to play him is that you just need to use his Q cooldown to know when to refresh mirror stack (use E or CA when Q cd at 10s and 6s)
He's dendro Cyno. His playstyle is the same (burst and then go wild on field, with some timing needed on your skill). His best team is the same (quickbloom with Nahida, Kuki, YL/XQ). His weakness is the same (can't swap out after burst, easily staggered and knocked around). They're very very similar units

For me he feels better to play as driver than nahida simply because short characters have a bit weired camera movements especially on mobile. I use them together and damn dendro is pretty good. The only problem is that I wish he had base resistance to interruption, I have been using ayato for a while and got used to him lol. Edit: after upgrading him to lvl 90 and talents 9, I can for the first time one-phase raiden before she puts on the shield (haitham c0,nahida c0,kuki c1,xq c6)
Same LOL I've been an Ayato main since his release and I got bored of solo killing everything in the overworld while just standing there and pressing E. But I'm gonna miss not getting treated like a volleyball by enemies.
Cool. I think I will try that. My showcase so far has been one cycled Geo Wolflord in 12-2-2 floor abyss. Sadly I forget to record it and all my tries are ruined by RNG. The closest I get his Q failed to hit Wolflord, but deal enough damage to kill him before invul phase. I upload on this channel.

Nahh cuz at least you can continue on with less mirrors. You stay too long on Childe, suddenly when you swap back to him you have an awkward 3 sec cooldown
nope, alhaitham can get his dendro infusion with 3 ways, burst,E skill, and CA/PA meanwhile childe has fixed cooldown on his skill means u dont have another way to do melee stance if u stay on-field for too long. alhaitham is way more flexible and his rotation is more easier than childe longass skill cd.
Al Haitham feels really good to play, especially when you figure out how his whole kit works. The ult mechanic is pretty satisfying to pull off (if ur not drowning in 300 ping), and the mirrors are pretty easy to maintain. The only problem I have now is that I dont have a decent dendro cup (i think he's on em or atk with decent subs), and i dont have an EM sands (also attack with good crit subs). Even with that I still get a good 20k from his projections (lvl 9).
I still can't get the mechanic. Can you explain it to me? I assume you use that when you have 3 stacks and qucikly swap to other characters to reapply and the switch back? How long can I stay as the support though? Example I use burst and swap, is it only for one support? I can't do kuki and fischl and then swap back?
@@amnos180188 basically perfect start from him right from his burst,to get 3 mirrors and prolong they existence by putting ca after 4 sec and skill when u again loss 1-2 mirrors,so u will have long duration 3mirros dmg and infusion. The swap during his q thing exist mostly to optimize time, duration of kuki e pretty low, especially if she not c2, so u using her e,then go to alhaitham use his burst wait 2 sec for infusion and u loss like 4-5 sec on kuki e duration. Swapping mid his burst give u more uptime on kuki e and allow not staying on him 2 sec doing physical dmg
@@greenvega yeah I was alsing abt the ult swap trick. I understand the combos and stacking up. Still needs a bit more practice in timing. So that means I can only swap to kuki for her skill and no one else before swapping back else I wont get the stacks? Also, if you don't have his burst at the start, do you wait for you mirrors to go 0 before using his burst to gain 3 or just use it whenever? I tend to wait till his mirrors are either 0 or 1 but I don't know if that is the optimal way since his dmg for burst is meh at low or no mirrors.
I think you're under playing how fluid and smooth his gameplay is. He feels like one of the most refined and developed characters in the game so far. Everything flows incredibly well and he feels really fun to play. Plus he's just really solid in terms of meta, and gets better the more effort you put into him (learning his combos etc.)
He is awesome and the dendro sword rain from the 3 mirrors is super satisfying. He can be played with Nahida or on opposite sides of the abyss just like Yelan and Xingqiu can be separate or together so I would say he is worth it. Competing for 2nd best Sumeru character and being just slightly worse in terms of applying dendro on field than Nahida is not a bad thing as Nahida is the archon after all. Flexible and can be played in any dendro reaction team is great as it would make team building more fun with him since he is not limited to one type of reaction comp. I think he has good future potential especially if his idle animation with having the house keys may hint that Kaveh will be a unit designed to help Al Haitham teams. Just a suspicion though :)
Zajeff pls try Diona c6 in spread comp. I dont have Nahida to pair with him so i tried Alhaitam/Fischl/Dmc/Diona c6 and i feel rly comfortable bc she gives shield and interruption resist, heal and 200em buff. But i would love you to try it.
Since I have Nahida sadly I'll be skipping over Mr. Feeble Scholar since he basically slots to the same team comps and I'm going for Yelan. But it's nice that he's a good dendro driver for those who have/getting him!
I like him a lot, very fun, strong with Nahida especially, like if you have both you can slot in a lot of characters and feel really strong, and even without her, he feels good, but I heard energy issues if he doesn't go double dendro, haven't tested that myself but with another dendro, getting his burst consistently hasn't been an issue for me.
Honestly, I have never owned Nahida and was still blown away by how powerful he feels even in a simple Quicken team (Kuki, Dendro MC, Fischl or Raiden). Absolutely love him.
Favge is probably his best weapon as a solo dendro driver. I'd say fav haitham beats fav nahida in personal dmg, but nahida has better dendro app, more utility, and greater flexibility
@@d3m3nt3d_t3acup_ I gotta try him solo dendron but I've been having a good time with him double, I haven't had any energy issues as long as he has Nahida or Traveler, I wanna try YaoYao too. Nahida just feels like the perfect teammate for him in a lot of ways.
I definitely agree on the point that his lack of resistance to interruption can feel like fucking shit. He rly does get knocked around a lot in my experience. XQ definitely helps, but I rly wanna get mileage out of my Elegy Yelan
Yeah that's the onlt downside to me. Unless you're godly perfect at dodging, you will get knocked around at least once. Fortunately xq is perfect in hyperbloom with him. I might wanna try beidou with him too.
Looking forward to Dehya pre analysis, did some calculations with the numbers we have for now, and I'm not sure I like what I saw... but maybe I'm wrong, I don't know how you do your sheets 😅
He seems pretty decent, but I already have Nahida and Tighnari so I'm not sure if another dendro character would really help me a whole lot. I think I'll just keep saving for Yelan.
I have Tighnari, but Alhaitham does everything I hoped I could do with Tighnari but couldn't, even in the same comp, so I wouldn't compare them. If you're not a male collector though you're probably already good with Nahida, I don't have her and I won't for a while bc she's due to rerun alongside Baizhu, so Haitham's been feeling great so far.
If you feel like you don't need him then go for Yelan. I have no need for him but I pulled 'cause I want him. I also don't have Yelan but not pulling for her. I've been managing from before so unless they start adding harder contents, I'll make do with XQ lol
Imho, the top 7 characters in each element that you MUST pull are Anemo = Kazuha Geo = Zhongli Electro = Raiden Dendro = Nahida Hydro = Yelan Pyro = Xiangling C4 and Bennett C1 - Yes, forget Hu Tao or Yoimiya, Xiangling and Bennett are the best of the best! Cryo = Ayaka.
I've seen people call him a Dendro Keqing but we haven't seen entirely his full capabilities what they are yet, it's also possible where he can become even better down the line, and if you want him because you enjoy him. I'd say go for him!
Childe makes you wet and al haitham makes you spread your le-- Anyway, al haitham is like the dendro version of childe; has great value to the team and is fun They also have a strong team comp. International for childe and educational for al haitham You dont a broken weapon or a high crit ratio for him just work on his EM. Im running a fav sword with 58/120 crit ratio and I can still beat spiral abyss.
He has a bit of a learning curve with the mirror stacks, but I'm slowly getting a hang of it. I can't wait till I can start doing big pp numbers, my boy is still stuck in lvl 60 jail because of pupas, but with Zhong, Yae and an anemic YaoYao he can still clear everything in the overworld and floors 9 and 10. He's fun!
Oh yeah btw I think this is pretty useful information to have but I was able to do the burst swap to a different character then go back to haitham thing with around 100-130 ping so for those people who have that ping it is possible, you might not get it from time to time but it is descently consistent with this amount of ping
A suggestion team comp for spread, use Alhaitham+Nahida+Yae+ZhongLi, knock back resistance is provided by ZhongLi, Yae does aggravate as sub dps, Nahida provides EM to boost Alhaitham dmg, and Alhaitham as your main dps, Yae burst can be used to finish off whatever health is left for a mob if u don’t want to use Alhaitham burst, this team is really powerful, can work in both single target and Aoe(excels in single target)
His mirrors are forgiving and flexible. I dont even mind if i begin a chamber without his burst. Just do your set up and E plunge then u can get the mirrors. He's not that difficult to play as they say. I cant even feel that he has 18s E cooldown.
Zajeff, pls explore more about his team comp for post release vid. I use Alhaitham x nahida x kuki x venti for dessert exploration then use him for domain, its feel really good imo. I slap venti with 4p instructor + elegy and he really really help grouping enemy + give em buff. I would like to know more his team comp otherthan usual quickbloom/quicken team comp
Nahida might be better for on field dendro but I would rather use a hot tall male on field than a toddler. I'm loving his gameplay with nahida as a support.

KekWait, now that I think about it, you can have HyperBloom on both sides with him. One side Alhaitham, Kuki, Xingqiu, Zhongli and second would be Nahida, Raiden, Kokomi and Yelan

My favorite teams with him so far: Nilou yaoyao yelan (yaoyao is hella fun btw) Beidou kuki nahida(rotation is really smooth) Raiden zhongli nahida (let’s me get away with less ER on alhaitham)

I'd say even tho the pre release was accurate, you underestimated him a little. I got him "accidentally" in 20 pity so it doesn't change anything for my savings and I was really happy to see that he feels better than I first imagined. I think the same goes for yaoyao
i have tried alhaitham with nilou and it doesnt feels good. mostly because he is not full EM, and if he is the one who trigger the dendro core, his damage would not be as high as full EM nahida. i like him better in raiden hyperbloom or yae/fischl quicken.

I actually have 2 builds on him, one with a bit more CR&CD but 128 ER, and another a little less CR&CD but 155 ER. I always prefer having better ER than more damage coz it feels more comfy to play.
I was so hyped for him, and he's strong, but.. while somewhat intricate his playstyle is very click spammy which I don't really like. I kinda like units like Ayato or Yae which are super easy to drive. He's not that lol. So now I'm on the fence. To pull or not to pull..... hmmmm..... Xingqiu has DMG reduction and a little bit RES to interruption if i am not wrong.

nope, alhaitham can get his dendro infusion with 3 ways, burst,E skill, and CA/PA meanwhile childe has fixed cooldown on his skill means u dont have another way to do melee stance if u stay on-field for too long. alhaitham is way more flexible and his rotation is more easier than childe longass skill cd.
Al Haitham feels really good to play, especially when you figure out how his whole kit works. The ult mechanic is pretty satisfying to pull off (if ur not drowning in 300 ping), and the mirrors are pretty easy to maintain.
The only problem I have now is that I dont have a decent dendro cup (i think he's on em or atk with decent subs), and i dont have an EM sands (also attack with good crit subs). Even with that I still get a good 20k from his projections (lvl 9).

I still can't get the mechanic. Can you explain it to me? I assume you use that when you have 3 stacks and qucikly swap to other characters to reapply and the switch back? How long can I stay as the support though? Example I use burst and swap, is it only for one support? I can't do kuki and fischl and then swap back?
@@amnos180188 basically perfect start from him right from his burst,to get 3 mirrors and prolong they existence by putting ca after 4 sec and skill when u again loss 1-2 mirrors,so u will have long duration 3mirros dmg and infusion. The swap during his q thing exist mostly to optimize time, duration of kuki e pretty low, especially if she not c2, so u using her e,then go to alhaitham use his burst wait 2 sec for infusion and u loss like 4-5 sec on kuki e duration. Swapping mid his burst give u more uptime on kuki e and allow not staying on him 2 sec doing physical dmg
@@greenvega yeah I was alsing abt the ult swap trick. I understand the combos and stacking up. Still needs a bit more practice in timing.
So that means I can only swap to kuki for her skill and no one else before swapping back else I wont get the stacks? Also, if you don't have his burst at the start, do you wait for you mirrors to go 0 before using his burst to gain 3 or just use it whenever? I tend to wait till his mirrors are either 0 or 1 but I don't know if that is the optimal way since his dmg for burst is meh at low or no mirrors.
I think you're under playing how fluid and smooth his gameplay is. He feels like one of the most refined and developed characters in the game so far. Everything flows incredibly well and he feels really fun to play. Plus he's just really solid in terms of meta, and gets better the more effort you put into him (learning his combos etc.)

He is awesome and the dendro sword rain from the 3 mirrors is super satisfying. He can be played with Nahida or on opposite sides of the abyss just like Yelan and Xingqiu can be separate or together so I would say he is worth it. Competing for 2nd best Sumeru character and being just slightly worse in terms of applying dendro on field than Nahida is not a bad thing as Nahida is the archon after all. Flexible and can be played in any dendro reaction team is great as it would make team building more fun with him since he is not limited to one type of reaction comp. I think he has good future potential especially if his idle animation with having the house keys may hint that Kaveh will be a unit designed to help Al Haitham teams. Just a suspicion though :)

Zajeff pls try Diona c6 in spread comp. I dont have Nahida to pair with him so i tried Alhaitam/Fischl/Dmc/Diona c6 and i feel rly comfortable bc she gives shield and interruption resist, heal and 200em buff. But i would love you to try it.

Since I have Nahida sadly I'll be skipping over Mr. Feeble Scholar since he basically slots to the same team comps and I'm going for Yelan. But it's nice that he's a good dendro driver for those who have/getting him!
He's very fun to play.
Now i can run Childe team on one side and Dendro Childe(AlHaitham) team on other side.
I like him a lot, very fun, strong with Nahida especially, like if you have both you can slot in a lot of characters and feel really strong, and even without her, he feels good, but I heard energy issues if he doesn't go double dendro, haven't tested that myself but with another dendro, getting his burst consistently hasn't been an issue for me.
Honestly, I have never owned Nahida and was still blown away by how powerful he feels even in a simple Quicken team (Kuki, Dendro MC, Fischl or Raiden). Absolutely love him.
Favge is probably his best weapon as a solo dendro driver. I'd say fav haitham beats fav nahida in personal dmg, but nahida has better dendro app, more utility, and greater flexibility
@@d3m3nt3d_t3acup_ I gotta try him solo dendron but I've been having a good time with him double, I haven't had any energy issues as long as he has Nahida or Traveler, I wanna try YaoYao too. Nahida just feels like the perfect teammate for him in a lot of ways.
I definitely agree on the point that his lack of resistance to interruption can feel like fucking shit. He rly does get knocked around a lot in my experience. XQ definitely helps, but I rly wanna get mileage out of my Elegy Yelan

Yeah that's the onlt downside to me. Unless you're godly perfect at dodging, you will get knocked around at least once. Fortunately xq is perfect in hyperbloom with him. I might wanna try beidou with him too.

I have Tighnari, but Alhaitham does everything I hoped I could do with Tighnari but couldn't, even in the same comp, so I wouldn't compare them. If you're not a male collector though you're probably already good with Nahida, I don't have her and I won't for a while bc she's due to rerun alongside Baizhu, so Haitham's been feeling great so far.
Since you don't have Yelan yet, get her first.
If you feel like you don't need him then go for Yelan.

I've seen people call him a Dendro Keqing but we haven't seen entirely his full capabilities what they are yet, it's also possible where he can become even better down the line, and if you want him because you enjoy him. I'd say go for him!

You dont a broken weapon or a high crit ratio for him just work on his EM. Im running a fav sword with 58/120 crit ratio and I can still beat spiral abyss.

Zachef is growing so fast
He has a bit of a learning curve with the mirror stacks, but I'm slowly getting a hang of it. I can't wait till I can start doing big pp numbers, my boy is still stuck in lvl 60 jail because of pupas, but with Zhong, Yae and an anemic YaoYao he can still clear everything in the overworld and floors 9 and 10. He's fun!
Oh yeah btw I think this is pretty useful information to have but I was able to do the burst swap to a different character then go back to haitham thing with around 100-130 ping so for those people who have that ping it is possible, you might not get it from time to time but it is descently consistent with this amount of ping
A suggestion team comp for spread, use Alhaitham+Nahida+Yae+ZhongLi, knock back resistance is provided by ZhongLi, Yae does aggravate as sub dps, Nahida provides EM to boost Alhaitham dmg, and Alhaitham as your main dps, Yae burst can be used to finish off whatever health is left for a mob if u don’t want to use Alhaitham burst, this team is really powerful, can work in both single target and Aoe(excels in single target)

His mirrors are forgiving and flexible. I dont even mind if i begin a chamber without his burst. Just do your set up and E plunge then u can get the mirrors. He's not that difficult to play as they say. I cant even feel that he has 18s E cooldown.

Zajeff, pls explore more about his team comp for post release vid. I use Alhaitham x nahida x kuki x venti for dessert exploration then use him for domain, its feel really good imo. I slap venti with 4p instructor + elegy and he really really help grouping enemy + give em buff. I would like to know more his team comp otherthan usual quickbloom/quicken team comp
Nahida might be better for on field dendro but I would rather use a hot tall male on field than a toddler. I'm loving his gameplay with nahida as a support.
And he can also benefit from nahida em buff which is very good on him because he gets pretty much more damage when you have higher em.

KekWait, now that I think about it, you can have HyperBloom on both sides with him. One side Alhaitham, Kuki, Xingqiu, Zhongli and second would be Nahida, Raiden, Kokomi and Yelan
You can do it even without him with sucrose xingqiu oz and dendro mc in one side and nahida raiden zhongli yelan on other

I'd say even tho the pre release was accurate, you underestimated him a little. I got him "accidentally" in 20 pity so it doesn't change anything for my savings and I was really happy to see that he feels better than I first imagined. I think the same goes for yaoyao
i have tried alhaitham with nilou and it doesnt feels good.
mostly because he is not full EM,
and if he is the one who trigger the dendro core,
his damage would not be as high as full EM nahida.
i like him better in raiden hyperbloom or yae/fischl quicken.

I actually have 2 builds on him, one with a bit more CR&CD but 128 ER, and another a little less CR&CD but 155 ER. I always prefer having better ER than more damage coz it feels more comfy to play.
I was so hyped for him, and he's strong, but.. while somewhat intricate his playstyle is very click spammy which I don't really like. I kinda like units like Ayato or Yae which are super easy to drive. He's not that lol. So now I'm on the fence. To pull or not to pull..... hmmmm..... If Dehya were better it would be an easy skip tbh.
