A few more thoughts on this since I'm getting a lot of comments from people who seem to have misunderstood what I said : Al Haitham and Yao Yao do not have the same role. You can play them in similar archetypes, but you can't necessarily just slot them with the same other 3 units. When I say that Yao Yao reduced his pull value, I simply mean that she raised non-Alhaitham teams a bit, meaning that what your account at a baseline is stronger. It's only a slight reduction, but I do focus a bit on it in the post release because it's something that I got wrong in the pre-release, where I basically just dismissed her. The reason why it's emphasized is because it's a correction, not because it's insanely significant.
Another good thing about Yaoyao is that she frees up Nahida a bit too. She slots in aggravate and Alhaitham's spread teams pretty well to the point you can run Nahida in bloom related stuff.
@@MrHav1k Yea they need to make Baizhu with like off-field damage, amazing healing, support buff and consistent dendro app like Nahida to be better than Yaoyao but feels like he will not significantly replace her.
@@skr0gu3 The kit leaks are almost always wrong before beta. They are extremely STC and often just speculation based on guesses. Very recent example is Dehya being a 5* Xiangling who places a tombstone that chases enemies. Not even close to what her burst actually does and even her skill isn’t similar to that. I wouldn’t use them as a point of reference or to place expectations, just as something to consider for your own speculations.
@@tardwrangler1019 unless you're playing her hyperbloom teams, raiden pretty much does no damage in the overworld without her burst. if you use her burst, it's most likely overkill and you won't have it the next time you need it due to a lack of energy regen.
@@shiinozaki raiden is not the case in over world because you build her with 250+ er so you get the burst back fast enough unlike cyno, xiao and itto who are pretty much useless without burst and rely on supports
Yaoyao has been such a great battery for Alhaitham that I don't even use Nahida on his team. Definitely the best dendro support after Nahida and I prefer Alhaitham over Tighnari for dendro DPS
@@mickysaif alhaitham is indeed better in terms of AoE and also has slightly higher DPS in an extended rotation, but tighnari has much more burst damage in a much tighter rotation thus support quickswap team better, so keep ur head up!
With respect to Yaoyao, you’re forgetting an important point that was touched on and inaccurate in the pre-release. His heavy Nahida reliance. He doesn’t need Nahida when Yaoyao is an amazing support for his double dendro teams.
The real and only reasons Nahida is his best dendro partner is because she helps fix Alhaithams ER needs and she buffs EM....she's basically any dendros best partner in crime with those attributes Also should probably mention Nahida own dmg is really good
Yeah, it's surprisingly ok. I pulled Nahida knowing that Mihoyo would kneecap dendro res without her but Yaoyao feels like an actual character for once. Guess that's Liyue for you.
@@Ben-vg6ox I've been having great success with Alhai Yaoyao and double electro, Raiden helps energy matter very little and double electro in general helps energy. I've been using Fischl lately as my fourth, I really like Yae and i think most of the time her field time doesn't matter as much as people complain, but in this team I have nearly full burst uptime so i actually notice the field time a lot. Being able to rotate back and forth between burst -> dps alhai and 3 mirror -> burst -> raiden burst is nice. Feels like you have tons of options based on the exact situation.
Wasn’t planning in getting him since i c2 my Nahida and i think she so strong then tried his trial more than once and figured out how to use him and got him at 76pity and won 50/50 and now he’s my favorite next to yae

The most important thing for me is the fact that Alhaitham is so cool and he works. Even if he is just a driver for hyperbloom, I can use him without staying there and think "oh I like this character but maybe it is noot a good pull" which has happened with a lot of chatacters recently, both 5 stars (Wanderer, Cyno) and 4 stars like Candace.
I am happy that he is not Nahida dependent. Sure she makes his damage better but without her he can clear pretty good with spread team (with DMC)and quickbloom (with Yaoyao). I also have 122 ER on him and I'm not having any problems esp with that 2s technique (Haitham burst then DMC E). He is also not burst dependent, 3mirror management is flexible.

Regarding the pull value, I disagree with you on a couple of things: Alhaitham very easily competes with both Ayaka and Hu Tao and wins in f2p values by a lot, since Ayaka and Hutao are much more restricted in their teams. Also, the fact that you're saying that Yao Yao kinda reduced his pull value is so much wrong.
From a meta perspective there's no reason to pull for him now that we know baizou is gonna be another dendro catalyst user meaning better at dendro application than haitham and nahida is always there
@@velda7454 yes in his situation since we're talking about C0 its becuz of his faster attack speed and better scaling Nahida E at lvl 10 is 185.5%atk+371.5%em Which at lvl 10 burst the trikarma triggers every 2.05 seconds. Alhaitham E at lvl 10 projectiles is 121%atk+241. 9% em on ONE mirror projection now since THREE mirror is the most optimal one of that is 363%atk+725.7%em Which as you can see almost double the scaling of nahida's tri karma and they always trigger every 1.6 second. Plus these projections can spread 2 times once every proc and the 1.6 second trigger including the spread 2 times on every proc is fixed even at lvl 1 (E) talent VS. Nahida tri karma which is always ONCE every 2.05 seconds To summarize its like 1.6 second plus 2x spread in just one proc vs 2.05 second 1x spread in just one proc

Yao Yao is a monster, idk how in 2023 they released such a good 4* at C0 after all the 4* they released in Sumeru prior to her, i mean we talking about a healer that heals so much that she can heal her whole team to full HP with her Q while going full EM build and also applying a LOT of Dendro. liyue Ichiban.
This is the funnest time I’ve had with a character in a while. His coordinated attacks are so satisfying. His long cooldown isn’t even an issue because there are so many ways to get them. His burst cost isn’t as big of an issue has people think. I can use his burst every rotation with favonius Yao Yao. I only have 110 ER on him.
Its crazy how people say everytime that we need a FUN character and dmg doesnt matter for us and now mihoyo has finally given us both of those ability in one still people saying hes skipable i can say as a 2 year hutao main i was blown away by his personal dmg of spread not those broken hyperblooms hes scaling are crazy i just single rotated the raiden boss before phase change with a fucking harbinger today on lvl 7 talents

I was literally was not going to pull for him but I needed a new character to play with, so I got him, and I was soo surprised that he surpassed my high invested cyno.
same. haitham quickbloom cleared pma at L60 4/4/4 with HOD much faster than my 90 cyno 9/10/10 quickbloom 💀 cyno deserved much better. But maybe its becoz of his element too, electro steals hyperblooms while dendro just gives more application

Not being able to refresh your buff kinda hurts the team DPS unless you whale the shit out of the character. imagine if Cyno can do split-rotation like Alhaitham or take lesser field time. he would’ve been a hell of a character. I love that you do these post-analysis videos, hugely valuable! Overall I've been pleasantly surprised by Al Haitham. He's a lot of fun to play, involved if you want to min-max, but forgiving enough if you mess up or just want to mess around. I've found his damage to be exceptional and I really feel like his kit is complete at C0. I think the team did a really great job on him overall
Most sumeru characters relies way too much on Nahida so I'm very happy Alhaitham can do well without her. Yaoyao is a good pair for him, even DMC works too. My Nahida can just go in another team with Cyno while Alhaitham can do babysitting with Yaoyao.

Great post release Zajeff. Personally, I like his character, so I've been having an absolute blast playing him! Super fun, very flexible teams, and works with so many characters. I'd say he's the best C0 DPS just because he needs less around him to function than the other alternatives. He doesn't need Kazuha/Kokomi the way Ayaka does, he doesn't need Zhongli/Venti the way Ganyu does, he doesn't need Zhongli/Yelan/C1 the way Hu Tao does, overall you can roll him C0 and get to stomping content and for the people that like him that's plenty reason enough to get him.
I think by your criteria Raiden is significantly better. Hutao doesn't need Zhongli or Yelan or C1 either, she's still good with just Xingqiu/Thoma/Sucrose at C0.

@@ddd8828 Hu Tao definitely needs more investment compared to Haitham quickbloom. Without C1 she can be slightly clunky to play as well. Agreed that raiden is objectively better by the same standards tho. Rational is dumb easy to play and she brings much more value and flexibility.
Absolutely worth it, both for new player and vets alike. 3 nations have no resistance to dendro until sumeru. He's great with low investment, amazing in high investment. Beside his mirror stacks mechanic, he's pretty flexible, upto 100% dendro infusion uptime. And he doesn't need Nahida to function well. And he's good looking well designed characters worthy of 5stars ❤️
That's very important : he's super good at C0 with a 4* weapon and 4* supports! So many ratings put Hu Tao at the top , but forget to mention that's with her Homa and C1... Because without she's nothing special. Put Raiden hypercarry at the top, forgot that's with her C2 and Engulfing... And I don't even mention Ayaka top META team that's "just" four 5* chars : Kokomi Kazuha Shenhe ! LMAO!

Spread is his best team, and also, comparing him to nahida, youre not taking into account, that all chibis are clunky to play, i know for some poeple that does not matter, but for me it makes a world of difference

I think he’s great. I’ve got a shitty build w deepwood 57cr/130cd, 350 EM, and favonius and I’m still very pleased with his damage. I also think his playstyle is super fun and I like his flashy mirrors
The whole ping situation with him is true. I have around 115 ping sometimes a bit more than that and I can still swap him to Kuki, user her E and go back to him - BUT it's a pretty tight switch. You need to do it fast.
A reminder for Alhaitham's main, 60/90 crit with non crit weapon is decent, while 60/120 crit is on Great level. And keep in mind that your Alhaitham must've at least 400 em for those crit
Coming back to this after I’ve got alhaitham and I run alhaitham, yaoyao, fischl, and xingqiu and it just feels so good to play. Alhaitham just makes everything feel easy and fun

Great insights on Alhaitham! I love the man he's just so fun to play and his animations and design feels so strong. I have Nahida and he definitely doesn't need her in the same team and with that I can now run 2 dendro teams. As for Yaoyao she supports Alhaitham very well like her c1 is super nice for him! C6 DMC is also great for him as well and last 2 slot in his team can be anyone. Definitely worth it.
...probably wont. No unit in history has ever had a whole overhaul of their kit....and thats exactly what she needs. But no....besttt we can hope for is hp scaling on c0, either good pyro for burgeon or stronger numbers for carry, NA and not burst or else evennnn double hydro cant save her, and......just no healing required and more self healing and more damage mitigation. And then maybeeeee she might be a decent unit...like thats the best we can hope for. otherwise.....well......I mean....there is always mono pyro???....using 3 of the most broken units in the game, but nevermind that.
@@knmrt2760 Ok, fair point then. I could agree with that. I only ever used her while finishing up my friendship namecard farming during late Inazuma patches, and it was to battery level 22 Chongyun because he felt miles better as the on-fielder than her "dedicated on-fielder" kit.

I mean even zajef when confronted with the question who to go for between Alhaitam Hu Tao or Xiao he said Yelan it's hard to truly recommend him within a patch with Yelan rerun.
I mean what do you want him to say? Pull for Alhaitam no matter what? Spend all your primos for Alhaitam even if you don't want him? Him saying he's a decent character that isn't a must pull is pretty reasonable imo.
The thing i hate about Alhaitham is that when people talk about him they speak as if he was the only spread DPS in the game when uhh Tighnari is right there and he is pretty strong too if built and played correctly.
Tighnari is also good. Alhaitham is in the spotlight rn because 1) his banner is currently available and 2) he can also perform really well in bloom teams whereas Tighnari is solely a single target spread DPS
The problem with Tighnari is that he's very burst-type and single target character. He can still work on groups and you can force his field time up if you need to, yes, but he definitely has his preferences and Alhaitham is his opposite in that he's good against groups and can deal sustained DPS.

Worth the primos? Hell yea, insane value pull? No cuz we are playing support impact. And I don't see Yao as a replacement to Al-haitham at all, but as a replacement to nahida, I tried with Yao instead of nahida and the difference was mere seconds.
This is kinda funny because alhaitam is also a support for a lot of comps simply because he's dendro, this can also be said about hydro characters (including childe and ayato aswell since both of them are great drivers for vap and electrocharge)
I think he's very good. I wasn't even planning on pulling for him but seeing videos of him and trying his demo convinced me to try to get him. So I sacrificed pulling for the godly weapons banner for him, but still lost 50/50 to c1 Jean and now i have no Homa/Simulacra AND no Al Haitham.
That’s got to be hard. I was saving up for yelan but I got xingqiu in the lantern rite and just had so much fun with alhaitham on his demo that I pulled. I got lucky and won the 50/50
I hate how my Alhaitham is not fully optimized yet he easily clears abyss with a Lv 40 C4 Kuki Shinobu, while my 70-85% Hutao Yelan double hydro comp clears abyss almost the same time as my Alhaitham comp.
Part of the reason could be the abyss buffs in each floor. But in general I do think dendro teams are easier to play with similar damage to vape/melt. But I think that vape and melt teams still an achieve higher damage ceilings with whale level of investment

@@HOGPO you don't have other characters beside hutao it seems.. against PMA most team can clear under 1 minute. Below 45 seconds is whale teritory. I bet hutao clears faster than haitham against the dendro boss. And good luck using hutao against corrosive in the last chamber. You'd either Sacrifice her damage and heals often, or you're a pro player that can dodge every single attack from that many wolves 😂 not to mention hutao could only attack 1 target at a time.

The boss is wasting our time summoning its body parts. If the boss don't have phases, like that dendro chicken boss, then you can clear it faster. Try it first, then talk.
I'm down bad for him so I got his C2 and his weapon at R1. I don't have Nahida (yet) and I never used Tighnari in a proper team (I didn't really look into Quicken teams before Alhaitham dropped), but I've never had such an easy time with Floor 12. I still can't get all stars, but Zhongli-Yaoyao-Fischl-Haitham is just so comfortable to run that I got 7 instead of 3 stars pretty easily. I also just love on field playstyles, so that's a point he has over Nahida for me any day :D
how does yaoyao even compare to alhaitham??? yaoyao is a healer, alhaitham is a dps/driver?? like how would having bennett diminish the value of hu tao in your account?? it's like you think of alhaitham as just a dendro application unit than a dps, which is weird +also saying he is not good in either floor or ceiling is just incorrect? floor is hyperbloom/qb which is already high and for ceiling there are already speed runs from him against the chicken boss with 80% DENDRO RES. Using Yao Yao means you can use non-healer character in the team (ex. Using Raiden for HB instead of Kuki). And it's not diminishing his value but you can use Yao Yao as a substitute. Her dendro application and damage is lower of course but like I said at first, she fills the healer slot so you can use better character. Haitham ceiling is actually not that good because of how spread works compared to vape/melt and his constellation isn't that crazy either. I agree that he has a high floor though due to being Dendro.
@@karashuun1083 guess what, kuki performs exactly similar to raiden in hyperbloom. imo even better in some situations based on my experience. double dendro haitham nahida is already a high damage functioning team with kuki as a healer? and the damage output is very impressive have you SEEN hu tao constellations? past her c1 her best constellations might as well be yelan and xingqiu cons/elegy refinements. oh wait guess what, same thing applies to alhaitham while his cons are actually a bit better even. and no way you believe vape to perform better than quicken in high investment, let alone melt(?) which I don't even know what current meta team uses, tbh
@@ririh1507 Raiden is better in HB due to faster electro trigger. Yes. Vape and Melt scales better than quicken. Having more ATK will increase the base damage that got multiplied, EM will increase the multiplier and crit also increase the multiplier. Meanwhile with Quicken, ATK doesn't get multiplied with EM and EM doesn't affected by ATK either.

Honestly pulled him to get into dendro reactions. I missed Nahida so all i had was Dendro Mc and Yaoyao from lantern rite. Eventhough i lost him to Diluc at first i got him in early pity unexpectedly
TL;DR: If you're pulling for Alhaitham because you like him, you won't be disappointed by his strength. If you're pulling for Alhaitham not because you like but because you think he's strong and you don't have Nahida? You should save for Nahida's eventual rerun if you can wait for an unspecified future.
I kind of have to argue that you brushed off his comparison with Hu Tao and Ayaka too quickly. Sure, they're stiff competition and their better early Constellations mean that with constellation investments, they scale better, but at base C0 he's definitely better than them in damage and flexibility. Hu Tao in particular is kind of hard to argue as better at C0 due to her CA-focused playstyle, she's good but not that good without either a lot of practice or a lot more investment to make her damage work with the less CAs you could do pre-C1.
Are there any calcs to prove this? I'm always skeptical when someone says X character does more damage than Y character. WIthout any any calculations to back it up, especially if it's in their best scenario which he said hu tao in single target and ayaka against freezable enemies
He probably brushed it off quickly because he'll talk about that point in his Hu Tao video, he's said multiple times in the past that people exaggerate the difficulty of her cancels and that it takes 2 days max of practice if you're not a mobile player or have ping issues.
@@fr3941 aoe or st aside, haitam does better simply because of how his kit compliments his element. Scales of em and decent multiplier with really high hit counts without icd problems, all of this works well with dendro reactions in general without worrying about your stats. Hutao however only has vap and unlike dendro vap works similar to how crit works aka a multiplier in your damage, because of this hutao scales with heavy investment unlike haitam who does not require that heavy investment at all. In short, haitam's better cause he's cheap to build while hutao needs heavy investment to outdamage haitam's high floor.
I wasn't going to pull for him at all, even tho i liked him a lot in the story, but after a trial run... he's now on 2 of my accounts, one with Nahida, and one without, and honestly, while them paired up together are incredibly strong, he's 100% playable without her. He's fun and solid power level wise, not like OP or anything, just solid.
Alhaitham and Nahida have a similar relation to XQ/Yelan. They are similar, one is better than the other, and they work best together. I got him in 20 pulls and was VERY surprised with his performance. I think my artifacts are decent but nothing crazy.
While I do agree they perform welll together, nahida is an off field dps whereas alhaitham is strictly an on field dps in this team. Compared to yelan and xinqui, both of these units are best used as off field dps. So it’s not really a great comparison but I get what you are trying to say.
I ended up pulling both al haitham and xiao and got al haithams weapon and can say hes probably better than hu tao in value especially since pyro is definitely not as great as it used to be now that transformative reactions have a wayy bigger presence in the meta then what it was before
Overall you wont regret getting him, he has strong multipliers, he's dendro and he's hot- I mean what? Im personally skipping cuz I have C6 nahida and C2 Tighnari and don't need another dendro dps
I'm a free to play(never bought any pulls), and I'm very satisfied with Alhaitham's performance. Even with mid artifacts, his damage is quite good. I kind of feel like he is like Raiden. In the sense that I don't have the most cracked artifact set for her, but she is still does relatively high damage. :) He us a five star I didn't regret. (I pretty much regretted Arataki Itto, because I don't have any Geo characters beside Gorou, Noelle, ad Nigguang)

So is he worth the freemos if I already had Nahida? At first I skipped him for Dehya, but after seeing her kit, I don't believe I will go for her. He also seems good. Between Alhaitham and C1 Hutao and Aqua simulacra, which one is better to prioritize?
Hu tao c1 or yelan considered meta units long term and the weapon banner is fire too , going for them would be very logical as f2p also baizou is coming at 3.6 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
floor is very low investment. low or no talent levels, no constellations or weapon refinement, correct main stat for artifacts but no sub stat optimization. ceiling is high investment in all areas.
Can he replaced Nahida on a teams? Me : put him along with Nahida Damn bro the dmg is so insane even tho ive still use 4 stars goblet and trash artifact, and with talent 1-1-1 his projectil atk does 23K spread. Now ive him with 9-9-8 talent, he do 33K projectil atk. I dont kinda expected his dmg would big as this because of those massive nerf scaling on his beta, but now i can understand why he get a nerf at his scaling🗿
Why are people so obssesed with comparing DPS characters with SUPPORTS They do two completly different things, Alhaitham wasnt going to be like Nahida from the start and is never going to be 💀 Also is gonna be hard or more like impossible for any upcoming Dendro character to be better than Nahida for obvious reasons
The best hyper bloom team including him and nahida and yelan and (kuki of raiden) .. it's better than double hydro hyper bloom.. so alhaithem is always a good pull

Another good thing about Yaoyao is that she frees up Nahida a bit too. She slots in aggravate and Alhaitham's spread teams pretty well to the point you can run Nahida in bloom related stuff.
I think it'll be pretty hard for them to sell Baizhu with Yao yao being so good. I'd say she's the star of this patch.

Very recent example is Dehya being a 5* Xiangling who places a tombstone that chases enemies. Not even close to what her burst actually does and even her skill isn’t similar to that. I wouldn’t use them as a point of reference or to place expectations, just as something to consider for your own speculations.
Alhaitham is great. Because of his burst independence he is quite nice for overworld stuff.

Yaoyao has been such a great battery for Alhaitham that I don't even use Nahida on his team. Definitely the best dendro support after Nahida and I prefer Alhaitham over Tighnari for dendro DPS

I've been using Fischl lately as my fourth, I really like Yae and i think most of the time her field time doesn't matter as much as people complain, but in this team I have nearly full burst uptime so i actually notice the field time a lot. Being able to rotate back and forth between burst -> dps alhai and 3 mirror -> burst -> raiden burst is nice. Feels like you have tons of options based on the exact situation.

The most important thing for me is the fact that Alhaitham is so cool and he works. Even if he is just a driver for hyperbloom, I can use him without staying there and think "oh I like this character but maybe it is noot a good pull" which has happened with a lot of chatacters recently, both 5 stars (Wanderer, Cyno) and 4 stars like Candace.

I am happy that he is not Nahida dependent. Sure she makes his damage better but without her he can clear pretty good with spread team (with DMC)and quickbloom (with Yaoyao). I also have 122 ER on him and I'm not having any problems esp with that 2s technique (Haitham burst then DMC E). He is also not burst dependent, 3mirror management is flexible.

Regarding the pull value, I disagree with you on a couple of things: Alhaitham very easily competes with both Ayaka and Hu Tao and wins in f2p values by a lot, since Ayaka and Hutao are much more restricted in their teams. Also, the fact that you're saying that Yao Yao kinda reduced his pull value is so much wrong.
From a meta perspective there's no reason to pull for him now that we know baizou is gonna be another dendro catalyst user meaning better at dendro application than haitham and nahida is always there

Which as you can see almost double the scaling of nahida's tri karma and they always trigger every 1.6 second. Plus these projections can spread 2 times once every proc and the 1.6 second trigger including the spread 2 times on every proc is fixed even at lvl 1 (E) talent VS. Nahida tri karma which is always ONCE every 2.05 seconds

Yao Yao is a monster, idk how in 2023 they released such a good 4* at C0 after all the 4* they released in Sumeru prior to her, i mean we talking about a healer that heals so much that she can heal her whole team to full HP with her Q while going full EM build and also applying a LOT of Dendro. liyue Ichiban.
This is the funnest time I’ve had with a character in a while. His coordinated attacks are so satisfying. His long cooldown isn’t even an issue because there are so many ways to get them. His burst cost isn’t as big of an issue has people think. I can use his burst every rotation with favonius Yao Yao. I only have 110 ER on him.

I love that you do these post-analysis videos, hugely valuable! Overall I've been pleasantly surprised by Al Haitham. He's a lot of fun to play, involved if you want to min-max, but forgiving enough if you mess up or just want to mess around. I've found his damage to be exceptional and I really feel like his kit is complete at C0. I think the team did a really great job on him overall
Most sumeru characters relies way too much on Nahida so I'm very happy Alhaitham can do well without her. Yaoyao is a good pair for him, even DMC works too. My Nahida can just go in another team with Cyno while Alhaitham can do babysitting with Yaoyao.

Great post release Zajeff. Personally, I like his character, so I've been having an absolute blast playing him! Super fun, very flexible teams, and works with so many characters. I'd say he's the best C0 DPS just because he needs less around him to function than the other alternatives. He doesn't need Kazuha/Kokomi the way Ayaka does, he doesn't need Zhongli/Venti the way Ganyu does, he doesn't need Zhongli/Yelan/C1 the way Hu Tao does, overall you can roll him C0 and get to stomping content and for the people that like him that's plenty reason enough to get him.
I think by your criteria Raiden is significantly better.
Hutao doesn't need Zhongli or Yelan or C1 either, she's still good with just Xingqiu/Thoma/Sucrose at C0.

Absolutely worth it, both for new player and vets alike. 3 nations have no resistance to dendro until sumeru. He's great with low investment, amazing in high investment. Beside his mirror stacks mechanic, he's pretty flexible, upto 100% dendro infusion uptime. And he doesn't need Nahida to function well.
And he's good looking well designed characters worthy of 5stars ❤️

The whole ping situation with him is true. I have around 115 ping sometimes a bit more than that and I can still swap him to Kuki, user her E and go back to him - BUT it's a pretty tight switch. You need to do it fast.
A reminder for Alhaitham's main, 60/90 crit with non crit weapon is decent, while 60/120 crit is on Great level. And keep in mind that your Alhaitham must've at least 400 em for those crit

Great insights on Alhaitham! I love the man he's just so fun to play and his animations and design feels so strong. I have Nahida and he definitely doesn't need her in the same team and with that I can now run 2 dendro teams. As for Yaoyao she supports Alhaitham very well like her c1 is super nice for him! C6 DMC is also great for him as well and last 2 slot in his team can be anyone. Definitely worth it.

The thing i hate about Alhaitham is that when people talk about him they speak as if he was the only spread DPS in the game when uhh Tighnari is right there and he is pretty strong too if built and played correctly.
Tighnari is also good. Alhaitham is in the spotlight rn because 1) his banner is currently available and 2) he can also perform really well in bloom teams whereas Tighnari is solely a single target spread DPS
Tighnari is best as a quick swap meanwhile Haitham is a driver. They're gonna have their differences
The difference between Tighnari and Alhaitham is that Tighnari is a quickswap dps while Alhaitham stays on field for longer periods of time.
The problem with Tighnari is that he's very burst-type and single target character. He can still work on groups and you can force his field time up if you need to, yes, but he definitely has his preferences and Alhaitham is his opposite in that he's good against groups and can deal sustained DPS.

And I don't see Yao as a replacement to Al-haitham at all, but as a replacement to nahida, I tried with Yao instead of nahida and the difference was mere seconds.
This is kinda funny because alhaitam is also a support for a lot of comps simply because he's dendro, this can also be said about hydro characters (including childe and ayato aswell since both of them are great drivers for vap and electrocharge)

I think he's very good. I wasn't even planning on pulling for him but seeing videos of him and trying his demo convinced me to try to get him.
So I sacrificed pulling for the godly weapons banner for him, but still lost 50/50 to c1 Jean and now i have no Homa/Simulacra AND no Al Haitham.
That’s got to be hard. I was saving up for yelan but I got xingqiu in the lantern rite and just had so much fun with alhaitham on his demo that I pulled. I got lucky and won the 50/50
I hate how my Alhaitham is not fully optimized yet he easily clears abyss with a Lv 40 C4 Kuki Shinobu, while my 70-85% Hutao Yelan double hydro comp clears abyss almost the same time as my Alhaitham comp.
Part of the reason could be the abyss buffs in each floor. But in general I do think dendro teams are easier to play with similar damage to vape/melt. But I think that vape and melt teams still an achieve higher damage ceilings with whale level of investment

I'm down bad for him so I got his C2 and his weapon at R1. I don't have Nahida (yet) and I never used Tighnari in a proper team (I didn't really look into Quicken teams before Alhaitham dropped), but I've never had such an easy time with Floor 12. I still can't get all stars, but Zhongli-Yaoyao-Fischl-Haitham is just so comfortable to run that I got 7 instead of 3 stars pretty easily.
I also just love on field playstyles, so that's a point he has over Nahida for me any day :D

Using Yao Yao means you can use non-healer character in the team (ex. Using Raiden for HB instead of Kuki). And it's not diminishing his value but you can use Yao Yao as a substitute. Her dendro application and damage is lower of course but like I said at first, she fills the healer slot so you can use better character.
Haitham ceiling is actually not that good because of how spread works compared to vape/melt and his constellation isn't that crazy either. I agree that he has a high floor though due to being Dendro.

have you SEEN hu tao constellations? past her c1 her best constellations might as well be yelan and xingqiu cons/elegy refinements. oh wait guess what, same thing applies to alhaitham while his cons are actually a bit better even. and no way you believe vape to perform better than quicken in high investment, let alone melt(?) which I don't even know what current meta team uses, tbh

Yes. Vape and Melt scales better than quicken. Having more ATK will increase the base damage that got multiplied, EM will increase the multiplier and crit also increase the multiplier. Meanwhile with Quicken, ATK doesn't get multiplied with EM and EM doesn't affected by ATK either.

Honestly pulled him to get into dendro reactions. I missed Nahida so all i had was Dendro Mc and Yaoyao from lantern rite. Eventhough i lost him to Diluc at first i got him in early pity unexpectedly

TL;DR: If you're pulling for Alhaitham because you like him, you won't be disappointed by his strength. If you're pulling for Alhaitham not because you like but because you think he's strong and you don't have Nahida? You should save for Nahida's eventual rerun if you can wait for an unspecified future.

I kind of have to argue that you brushed off his comparison with Hu Tao and Ayaka too quickly. Sure, they're stiff competition and their better early Constellations mean that with constellation investments, they scale better, but at base C0 he's definitely better than them in damage and flexibility. Hu Tao in particular is kind of hard to argue as better at C0 due to her CA-focused playstyle, she's good but not that good without either a lot of practice or a lot more investment to make her damage work with the less CAs you could do pre-C1.
Are there any calcs to prove this? I'm always skeptical when someone says X character does more damage than Y character. WIthout any any calculations to back it up, especially if it's in their best scenario which he said hu tao in single target and ayaka against freezable enemies
He probably brushed it off quickly because he'll talk about that point in his Hu Tao video, he's said multiple times in the past that people exaggerate the difficulty of her cancels and that it takes 2 days max of practice if you're not a mobile player or have ping issues.

@@fr3941 aoe or st aside, haitam does better simply because of how his kit compliments his element. Scales of em and decent multiplier with really high hit counts without icd problems, all of this works well with dendro reactions in general without worrying about your stats. Hutao however only has vap and unlike dendro vap works similar to how crit works aka a multiplier in your damage, because of this hutao scales with heavy investment unlike haitam who does not require that heavy investment at all.
In short, haitam's better cause he's cheap to build while hutao needs heavy investment to outdamage haitam's high floor.

I wasn't going to pull for him at all, even tho i liked him a lot in the story, but after a trial run... he's now on 2 of my accounts, one with Nahida, and one without, and honestly, while them paired up together are incredibly strong, he's 100% playable without her. He's fun and solid power level wise, not like OP or anything, just solid.
Alhaitham and Nahida have a similar relation to XQ/Yelan. They are similar, one is better than the other, and they work best together. I got him in 20 pulls and was VERY surprised with his performance. I think my artifacts are decent but nothing crazy.
While I do agree they perform welll together, nahida is an off field dps whereas alhaitham is strictly an on field dps in this team. Compared to yelan and xinqui, both of these units are best used as off field dps. So it’s not really a great comparison but I get what you are trying to say.
Nah, they're similar to Childe vs. Xingqiu/Yelan. Childe is a mainly on field dps with some intricacies in his kit just like al haitham.

I ended up pulling both al haitham and xiao and got al haithams weapon and can say hes probably better than hu tao in value especially since pyro is definitely not as great as it used to be now that transformative reactions have a wayy bigger presence in the meta then what it was before
Overall you wont regret getting him, he has strong multipliers, he's dendro and he's hot- I mean what?

I'm a free to play(never bought any pulls), and I'm very satisfied with Alhaitham's performance. Even with mid artifacts, his damage is quite good. I kind of feel like he is like Raiden. In the sense that I don't have the most cracked artifact set for her, but she is still does relatively high damage. :)
He us a five star I didn't regret. (I pretty much regretted Arataki Itto, because I don't have any Geo characters beside Gorou, Noelle, ad Nigguang)

Так же как и Ху Тао, хотя она очень близка, она очень специфичная. Хайтам же просто работает везде и у него нет проблем ни с чем, за него легко играть, он гибкий. Один из лучших дпс на аккаунт это точно. И аргумент "у вас уже есть другие дендро" слишком тупой.

floor is very low investment. low or no talent levels, no constellations or weapon refinement, correct main stat for artifacts but no sub stat optimization.
ceiling is high investment in all areas.
Floor means lowest damage. Ceiling means highest damage.

Damn bro the dmg is so insane even tho ive still use 4 stars goblet and trash artifact, and with talent 1-1-1 his projectil atk does 23K spread. Now ive him with 9-9-8 talent, he do 33K projectil atk.
