Also, Abyss - can you say what those black tree/bramble-like growths on the High Wall are? I remember those from The Know screenshots and never stopped wondering. Manifestations of the Abyss or something else entirely?
I've looked at it a lot and it's something that's eroding and erupting all over the world, it's the only thing i can think of, abyss, finally a game starting in the dark age.

This looks great! is this mod gonna tackle the lore of DS3 in a big way or just make small additions here and there? Because I would love to see anyone try to fill the gaps in the story of DS3
This is the main idea, but not just cover the gaps, almost everything will be re write to finish the serie.
Idk. As a mod I think it's fantastic, but I'm concerned that the original goal might get out of sight and just adding cool things becomes the focus. Conceptually the alternate Lothric knights look dope, but that's not really what was envisioned for early ds3, was it?
We can't do much with just cut content, the project has changed from being a only cut content mod it's been a long time already. The goal is still to make a DS3 close to what we see from the concept arts, world designs and cut content, just that it's not fully attached to it. The alpha also wasn't a complete version at all, so it had a lot of issues and inconsistencies, wouldn't be so wise to just blindly follow the cut content.
@@Anonim01 People (me included) will like the mod either way and you of course already made up your mind, so my complains will hardly be of any concern, but I say what's on my mind anyway.
I obviously don't know how stuff works behind the scenes, but I can't really grasp why you shouldn't be able to work of just the concept art and early footage. No one expects you to make a complete overhaul over literally everything in the game, because that wouldn't be the case even if from software would've went with the og plan, right? If the current game fits with the concept, why not let it stay that way. This type of mod has the luxury to be that way. And yeah due to stuff shifting around there are some liberties to be made, but that should only be the bare minimum, shouldn't it? The video really slaps, but I see a lot what I think exceeds bare minimum.
You guys are clearly passionate and talented, so I do understand you want to do more than that. But the extra stuff could also easily be a mod of its own and I'm sure a lot would want to play that as well.
Putting more things in because you aren't satisfied with the amount of content -while being understandable- will ultimately leave some people dissatisfied, because of the added stuff. I don't think I'm the only one feeling that way.
But, yeah, maybe I'm wrong and this is all necessary work. I'm sure you will make something people will love and you can be proud of. And my criticism comes from a place of admiration for the project and the people behind it. So thanks for reading, I guess. :)
Because in the first two months of Mod, we already restored every single thing that there is about the early DS3. Anything after that is part of Network Test build and that doesn't interest us. But the early version of DS3 does not make an entire game by itself, it was "Early".
"The concept art" is already tainted by visions surrounding the FINAL GAME, there's just very little to grasp about the design works that can link us to early versions of DS3.
All of us, the Project Eclipse Team, would love to know the specifics surrounding the "early version" of Dark Souls 3, but everything that we know and it is common knowledge at this point, we already restored and it doesn't make a game. It doesn't even make an Act One of a game. It's BAREALY tutorial content and i'm not even joking. And don't trust people like Lance or Cut Content creators when they say that every single cut content comes from the same version, because it doesn't. Dark Souls III had at least (as far as we know) 3 different games (Ideas and Game Design Concepts) before the one that we can play now at our homes.
With that in mind, it is our obligation as content creators to CREATE and INSERT our ideas in the project. The name "Ominous Wish" is not by accident or just a random name, it's a mod that's coming from a "Wish", a "Dream", an idea that people have of what could have been Dark Souls III, what is this "Early" Dark Souls III, and that's what we are trying to achieve too. Ideas and wishes are influenced by context, influences comes and go and we have our obligation to fuel this world with our creativity rather than just create something that is the real Dark Souls III. We are not trying to create the "REAL" Dark Souls III, the "What Could Have Been" of Dark Souls III.
This is a Dark Souls III that it's in our minds, our collective minds.
My own, my team, you guys, and Cut Content creators as well.
The restoration stuff? It was already done ages ago.
Now it's time to give them a proper game that they had never been a part of.
We are 500% willing to receive criticisms for that because of it. It's going to be an amazing ride,
Because we're here as Project Eclipse Team, not From Software.
As always, it's going to be a mod, and a mod is a present of the community to itself.

There is no more Boreal Valley, in early versions Anor is ash desert, they literally change the ash for a snow texture XD

I feel like this mod is gonna be goated , however, thats the beauty of it ds3 is an unfinished mess a complete dev hell and still managed to be amazing , so i cant imagine how good this mod will be acting as a personal idea of what ds3 could have been given more time

To everybody who's talking in the comments. There is no mod that anyone could make that would replace the original game, and that's not what they're trying to do. Dark souls 3 is a finished game that doesn't need mods to "complete" it, this mod is just these developers' personal spin on the game based on the concept art that was released before the game came out. No mods out there are trying to replace the original game, and that's what makes them good mods.
The original game is always exist, and will be the canon, this is literally just a mod, a bunch of people have a unfinished feeling about ds3, this is not really a problem, but the Fromsoftware team makes a great job with Ds3 og.

I think it's a good idea to use Elden Ring's armour in DaS3. Texture and model wise, it feels similar enough to be part of one game, which is not the case with ported sets from previous games, like DaS knight or elite knight sets, as well as Alva's set from DaS II.
On a diffirent note, is there a place where I can read a summary of the original DaS III story? I've gathered quite a lot of bits and pieces, but maybe there is a place that summarizes all known information.
Well, there is no early lore in DS3, the only thing that existed were Devnotes for the character and environment designs (none of which are public), all the final lore of the game was built up in the last 4 or 5 months before release, and was only really put in ingame in the last few months before the discs were pressed. XD
I will record in the next video all info from each early Ds3 builds, sadly there is no place to read it, only inside the files in small infos.
@@abyss1ne17 well, there is probably some framework that was used as a skeleton. Because after I've read QA leak, watched early screenshots, as well as watched different youtube dataminers, it all makes so much sense, which is not the case with retail game. Different pieces just "click" together, when you rearrange them in surtain way.
Plus, I think we can deduct curtain things, like a probable lore piece about Ashen one - he was a lot more special, probably was supposed to become so called "Amalgam of Kings" (which is a better translation of the SoC's name). But it was cut and the lore was used to form SoC.
@@DumahTheSeeker QA leak if fake, he talk a bunch of stuff from Gamescom trailer like Wolnir or early img leaks, and everything else came from QA leak mind. About Ashen one stuff, late late late close release addition, Soc was create 5 months before the release.
@@abyss1ne17 Yeah, I know that SoC was created before release. But the armour design was created earlier, judging by the fact that it's featured in artwork for Deacons Cube, as well as full body concept that implies that a hollow is wearing this armour, while SoC is just an empty shell.
I assume that this iconic armour had a different context early on, but design was repurposed for the SoC.
@@DumahTheSeeker about the retail armor, this is different from the gamescom version with some differente armor pieces, and about the concepts, FS edit a bunch of this concepts to release inside the Desing works, they wont really draw the SoC or the knight, they just copy and paste with photoshop, this is the sad true about the Desing works XD but yeah, firelink set early looks different in the content, probably a ruined warrior

@@SittingShelf the only real bits of lore are just epitaphs or cut item descriptions from Day 1 release, soooooo well, this wont exist in NT, sad but FS just create everything like lore too much close to the release.

Recreate the lighting from early leaked imgs from Dark Souls 3 and answer many open questions that ds3 left, another point is to align altered designs in the game that are different from the concepts, add new mechanics, update all bunch of armor textures and chrs, enemies, weapons, rework all the lighting system and others stuffs =D

refiz tudo a mao, e to colocando o que foi possivel em ringed city, sobre o pontifice, eles usaram ele como last boss early, mas mudaram de ideia sabe se la o porque hahah
Are we ever going to see some of these Amazing mods come to fruition i wonder? .DS2-Remaster by Stayd and Ds1-Nightfall by Grimrukh is all but dead, Archthrones( Demo) keeps getting pushed back with every month , and EL-Convergence gets micro-updates that aren't meaningful.

is it possible (or meaningful) to somewhat slow the pus plow on stuff like dragon corpse and those weird trees in the high wall? because as cool as it is conceptually, it also looks kind of silly with how fast the texture flows. if it is easily implementable, perhaps slowing it down to approximately half, or even a third of the speed may add to that signature-fromsoft "regal" vibe many things across their games have

No. It's a unused track for Sulyvahn, who was the final boss in a early stage of DS3's development.

Eu espero que você consiga fazer o personagem segurar uma espada e escudo enquanto uma outra arma equipada aparece guardada no seu personagem (em uns prints antigos da pra ver o personagem com uma espada e escudo na mão com uma claymore nas costas). Isso pra mim é o que me deixa mais puto de ter sido cortado do jogo, imagina as possibilidades de fashion souls.
Mas ta foda pra caralho o mod, com certeza o que eu mais quero jogar depois do Archthrones
A arma fica nas costas mesmo, essa é uma arma dupla, uma short sword com uma espada nas costas, e ao puxar a espada grande pras duas maos a outra vai pra bainha
Infelizmente isso não é possível, o que nós fizemos foi uma arma customizada que é uma longsword com uma greatsword, oq da a mesma sensação. Acredite, tentamos fazer isso, mas realmente é limitação do jogo. Muito provavelmente oq tava nas imagens do the know é como oq nós fizemos pro mod: uma arma dupla

@@weedlind2002 Ds1 with a bunch of changes from photoshop, we cant really use 1:1 anything from other games so a import the model, rework it, rework the textures and add new material

Pontiff in the concept art has a visual effect on his body and this doesn't exist ingame, but i've found it, i've datamined and search through FS stuff to notice their standardization of work, i don't doubt that it's a rework of the design.@@SittingShelf
