    for mono pyro yanfei i also use albedo instead of xiangling because yanfei’s energy needs tend to clash with xiangling’s. in a bennett, albedo, kazuha, yanfei team you can afford em maxing on kazuha while also taking advantage of the…cough… archaic petra set since albedo is very good at generating many crystalize shields that are easy to manage in a mono pyro team while not intereupting the pyro app. assuming albedo does have archaic petra, he becomes an off field sub dps and a pyro buffer that makes yanfei easier to recharge and slightly more resistant to interruption. i dont think the team does more damage i would have to test that out, but its definitely more comfortable to play. that being said it sucks against bosses because they can destroy albedo’s platform lmfao 💀

      Petra on Albedo in mono pyro is an interesting idea, but Xiangling and Yanfei don't have clashing energy. They both generate pyro particles, which is 3 times as effective as particles of another element, so they compliment each other.
      I should definitely try petra out more often, though. I completely forget about it until I'm looking through sims

    btw for the last part, i strongly recommend mona with prototype amber if you want to keep your hu tao under 50% hp while still collecting some fanfare stacks. among all the characters ive tried she has the least amount of energy issues by the virtue of being backed up by two other hydro units in the team. morevover mona’s own buff provided by her burst makes the weaker fanfare buffs feel less punishing. my pa mona, yelan, furina, hu tao team preforms better than double hydro jean because the energy issues are practically non existent while still keeping up with the elemental buffs. id say the survivability is pretty high too, i tried this team against the most difficult bosses and not much happened. you just need to get used to the quick swap burst spam rotation.

    I won't lie that was a goated intro 🤣 but MASSIVE L on the burgeon part. Nahida is by far the best dendro option, assuming you won't die, because no one else applies so much dendro like her and you ABSOLUTELY want to avoid forward bloom, it's just too bad either with Kirara Baizhu DMC Collei or anyone else. She doesn't make burning stronger, she simply applies more dendro which can either burn until extinguished or be used to reverse bloom, which is more efficient than forward bloom as you know. If burning lasts longer with Nahida the problem isn't her applying too much dendro (that's good!) but your team not being able to control burning with additional hydro application or other elements (cryo, electro, technically even geo helps), what happens if you opt for weaker dendro is that now what triggers bloom isn't hydro but the dendro applier itself, which is forward bloom and it wastes the whole dendro application for just one seed each time instead of two and this cripples your bloom and burgeon production too much (really you don't want to go that route if possible). Such teams can only be carried by alternatives sources of damage like the double hydro you showed which tends to be overkill hydro, while burgeon only marginally contributes. The main problem of a proper Yanfei burgeon team where burgeon is the main source of damage is that other than Kokomi (only really good in AoE btw) there are not good options for healing that also help balancing the gauges for optimal burgeon production: you ideally want Xingqiu and Nahida, that leaves out only one slot and healers like Diona or Charlotte don't do enough to help containing burning, at least Charlotte not from off field, and Kokomi is relatively niche nowadays so most accounts don't have her. Ironically a decent option would end up being Kuki but she would compete with reaction ownership making the team a "hyperburgeon" one, usually worse than other hyperbloom variants unless you need to overcome specific elemental checks. Baizhu's dendro is too weak and sparse, off field he applies dendro 6 times per rotation and in single target. The ideal 4th slot flex would be an electro healer or shielder with good AoE electro application that also doesn't trigger the seeds... so basically Beidou if she had better defensive utility against burgeon damage (her damage reduction doesn't protect from the seeds, but Nahida on Prot Amber helps).
    Haven't watched the rest yet but I wanted to point this out

      Also pls don't recommend ATK goblet with Furina, that's an urban legend, do your calcs with avg fanfare uptime and you'll see that Pyro DMG Bonus is still preferred unless you are running both Kazuha and Furina C2 at which point ATK goblet might becomes about as good. Scenarios where DMG Bonus with Furina becomes weaker than the alternative are sparse and even when it happens it's usually a very small margin, small enough that substats matter more and an optimiser is required on a case by case scenario.

    • @Souldapop
      @Souldapop  Месяц назад

      @xanthee_imr Nahida's 1.5 u actually hinders seed generation because your hydro is wasted to extinguish the burning. You start with dendro, create a seed, and the 1.5u ensures there will be dendro left over that will cause your pyro to trigger burning. *Since Nahida's skill triggers when there is a reaction, it won't trigger until you vape away the burning, but doing so will cause burning to retrigger.* So, even with Nahida, you have better seed generation with forward dendro application in burgeon teams. Since Nahida's skill won't be triggering as fast as usual because you're getting less reactions, Baizhu/Kirara are better for seed generation.
      In hyperbloom, yes, Nahida's 1.5u plus the quicken aura leads to more seeds because it allows 100% uptime on your dendro/quicken aura. That just isn't possible in burgeon.
      Put simply, it's easier to maintain a hydro aura in burgeon than a dendro aura. It doesn't matter that the dendro completely wipes the hydro because your hydro is so much faster than your dendro. This makes forward seed generation more ideal and makes Nahida's 1.5u useless because either way, the entire application will be used up. So, all that matters is the actual rate the application is being applied. When you take away the 1.5u from Nahida, her application becomes really slow.
      This is all demonstrated and explained in the video. It seems like you were so excited to prove me wrong you didn't pay attention. If you had, you'd know that I already understand elemental guage and the forward/reverse mechanic of dendro/hydro and was explaining how burgeon - particularly with a pyro on-fielder - is an exception to how dendro teams are normally ran.
      You had me tripping when you said I said to give Furina an attack goblet. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant HP/Hydro instead of ATK/Pyro. First, there isn't really an "average" amount of fanfare. It's going to be different in every team. Some teams will max it out right away. Some won't max it out at all or won't until the end of her burst. Some characters have more HP, so they generate less fanfare when healed - some have less, so they generate more. What we do know is that an HP goblet not only grants her more base damage to be multiplied by the already bonkers amount of dmg% she has, but it also gives an extra 5 dmg% with her a4.
      I think your sources might have it backwards. Hydro% doesn't start to catch up with HP% until c2 - not the other way around.
      Stats are 0 sum. Investing in one stat means not investing in another. Let's simplify it. Say Furina has 2 HP and 3 DMG%. You have one piece that can add 1 to either end (your goblet) If you add it to the dmg%, when you multiply, you get 2x4=8. But if you add it to the hp%, you get 3×3=9. When you are multiplying a series of numbers, the highest result will always be the one with the most balanced values (the closest to making the equation an exponential equation). So, when you're allocating your stats, you choose the stat you have the least of to balance the values. Furina already has 70 dmg% before we even consider fanfare because of Golden Troupe, so we go hp% to balance the values

      @@Souldapop My comment was meant to be a constructive critique, if the expressions I used like "massive L" bothered you that's my bad, I thought you were cool, I was wrong. There's really too much to unpack here but I'll focus on the main points. Keep in mind I've watched the video and no I didn't miss anything of what you explained, my sources are mainly myself and my own calcs, my own testing and for burgeon in part Zajef who explored burgeon very deeply back in the days and he's the one that inspired me into looking at things more closely. I've cleared many Abysses with every sort of burgeon team you can imagine since 3.1, each time burgeon being the main source of team damage, this includes Yanfei burgeon.
      1) Even in burgeon you still aim for reverse bloom. No one ever advised or advices the opposite, no theorycrafter, no guide I can recollect nor any casuals I've ever read or chatted with, you are the first and only one I've ever met (and maybe there's a reason). I explained why you would still prefer to aim for reverse bloom, but on top of what I already said earlier I add that the game gives us much better hydro appliers than dendro appliers which makes dendro gauge more precious and hydro more disposable. You mentioned that burning wastes hydro, but you know what also wastes hydro? Applying hydro on nothing or on a hydro aura... which is what you do in your burgeon gameplays the whole time so I just don't understand why hydro extinguishing burning concerns you so much when so much hydro is wasted anyway in your showcases. As I mentioned, we have hydro characters with very fast off field application: Xingqiu the goat applies hydro every second with his burst, every 2.25s with his orbitals in a very small AoE and he has an extra hydro application every 3s at C6. Nahida can't apply dendro faster than 2.5s without electro teammates or C1, so *by the time she applies dendro again Xingqiu applies hydro 3 times already, sometimes 4* at C6. That's a lot of hydro (and it's assuming Xingqiu is the "only" hydro), so what's the drama if a part of that massive amount of hydro goes to extinguish burning? If you aim for reverse bloom, in the worst case scenario you get a bloom and a vape (with Nahida), it's strictly better and again that's the very worst it can happen, normally you aim for two blooms, sometimes you get three with Nahida and you get them more easily if you weaken pyro using some "tricks", for example a burning aura weakened by geo cryo or even anemo (in theory, in practice anemo can also spread pyro more frequently) if followed by a hydro application before the pyro aura refreshes will generate both a vape AND a bloom with the same 1U hydro application, or you can catalyse the gauges adding a fast electro applier that doesn't proc the seeds or rarely does it (usually Fischl and Beidou, Fischl is trickier because it depends on the enemy hitboxes and positioning). Zajef has played a lot with these concept and I had myself, the point is that reverse bloom leads to considerably more burgeons and you have quite some tools at your disposal to achieve that. Yes *keeping a hydro aura up is easier, sure it is, but easier doesn't mean better* : balancing the gauges to *reverse bloom* as much as possible *is hard* and kinda scuffed, *but since the worst it can happen is that you get just one seed per dendro application* (again, because Xingqiu simply applies so much hydro) *then it's still a good deal* when compared to forward bloom, where one bloom per dendro application is literally the best and only outcome. Then of course if you want to carry the team with a double hydro dps core and then add some pyro and dendro just to put the name "burgeon" on the team archetype that's fine and it will still clear Abyss, but that's besides the point.
      2) I was talking about Yanfei's goblet, "don't recommend ATK goblet _[on Yanfei, ndr]_ with Furina". Referring to 2:24. And of course with average I meant on a case by case scenario, not an average among teams, since while not exactly precise a decently reliable way to calculate damage with dynamic buffs is to use an average of said buffs spread across your raw damage output, keeping in mind that even the same team can experience different fanfare stacking in different contexts. They are chaotic but I can give you some spreadsheets to check out if you want.
      To be clear, your content has very good elements, if I wrote such a lengthy and detailed comment it's because I thought you had the tools to understand it and improve, also I wanted to correct what I think is a mistake for others to read and understand, it could also have been the beginning of a stimulating and constructive confrontation that would have enriched both of us. Unfortunately I didn't expect your Dunning-Kruger arrogance to kick in, shame on me. If I won't continue this conversation it's because I won't consider it worth more of my time, and I fear that is a likely outcome but I would rejoice if proved wrong.

    • @xanthee_imr
      @xanthee_imr Месяц назад

      *referring to 12:24. I forgot the 1 (about the ATK goblet).
      Edit. also when I said "before the pyro aura refreshes" that might be wrong, I was referring to the underlying 2U pyro/burning aura but I'm genuinely not sure on when how if and why it gets refreshed, I guess it just doesn't until you trigger burning again, honestly I don't remember but it's not important

    • @Souldapop
      @Souldapop  Месяц назад

      @xanthee_imr Thanks for the timestamp. I didn't realize you had moved on to talking about the vape teams for the goblet. That said, I don't know what response would have been satisfactory to you. In the video, I showed both Kirara and Nahida, and you can see for yourself that Nahida generates less seeds. In burgeon, you will inevitably end up triggering seeds with your dendro. You can see in the video that seed generation is more efficient when maintaining a hydro aura, and that Nahida is less effective when that's the ideal scenario. Burgeon just doesn't play to her strengths the way it does in hyperbloom/Nilou where you definitely 100% of the time want to maintain a dendro aura for your hydro to trigger seeds from.
      Your hydro isn't wasted, it's used as an aura just like it would be in Vape. The difference is that vape reverse reacts and leaves an aura, but it ultimately doesn't matter when your hydro is that fast. That .5u gets refreshed before your next vape anyway.
      As for Zajef and other theorycrafters position on seed generation, that came before we had off-fielders like Kirara and Baizhu that are actually ideal for the reaction, and once we did get them they wrote them off because they weren't Nahida. TCs do a lot of work, but they can't be expected to try everything - especially when there's already established conventional wisdom that says it isn't worth their time.
      Things get overlooked all the time. I'm not trying to say they're wrong, just that they aren't infallible and things can get overlooked sometimes because there are constraints on the scope of what they can do. What we can do when developing teams for people to try is use the knowledge they provide to fill in places they missed and create new ways to enjoy the characters people want to play. If we were to just leave it at theorycrafters findings, we wouldn't be playing Yanfei in the first place, right?
