Rae is my all time favorite mc. I actually met him at Disney World off all places. I was sitting outside one of the spots on a bench and he rolled up stroller and all. He was mad cool. Nobody else had a clue who he was. Gotta find that pic. It was actually on my 30th birthday party.
People saying Rae better than Ghost, Ghost better than Rae, Meth better then them, lets be real, we all love when they're all on the same track. P.S. Inspectah Deck been killing it.
***** Rae called GZA the backbone, and a few seconds later, Meth made the Voltron comment. "He the head, let's put it that way. We form like Voltron, and GZA happen to be the head. You know what I'm sayin'" check the lyrics to "can it all be so simple" since that convo is in the outro.
christopher fujino that line had me crying laughing too- but its a great analogy- “how wolverine gonna go at Professor X, he can read your mind a little bit”, classic line
Yo wasup man. Coolin man chillin chillin. Yo you know I had to call you. You know why right? Why? Cuz yo I never ever call and ask you to play sumthin right? Yeah. You know what I wanna hear. I wanna hear that Wu.tang joint. Wu-tang again? Ah yeah again and again! ... WU-TANG CLAN COMIN ACHA!!!
Raekwon displays intelligence, poise, depth, and integrity in this interview - all without compromising who he is or where he's from. Still got that gritty hustler's energy, but refined... WISDOM FROM A TRUE OG!
Nah I'd say Inspectah deck is the most underrated. Gza is hella respected by Wu fans but slept on by the rest but Deck is just slept on and he got bars.
ILikeHipHop93 word, INS the REBEL been spitting bars. Tres Leches with Big Pun, opening verse of Triumph, and even Guillotine Swords. the rebel been tight.
DaboooogA real talk, cats been sleeping on Cappadonna. He has one of those styles where you have to really listen to him. His verse in winter war was ill
All these disrespectful penises talking about other Wu members being the best like they haven't got their own vids for you to big them up in. This interview was epic and Raekwon is a master of the craft. Love and respect to all of the Wu.
Good to come here after watching Wu saga. Like putting pieces to a puzzle together. Glad I grew up during this golden era. I found my purple tape a couple years back trust me it's in safe place 4ver now . Definitely one of the best albums 👐🏿down!
Dude is the most low key wise man Ive ever heard. When you can smoke your body weight in dust and still comport yourself the way he can, with that level headed perspective, you had to have come into the world a legit genius
Love the interview. Rae is the most swaggalist of the clan. Ghost got a lot of the swag that Rae got but he pull it together into the best stories. Meth had the flow and punchlines that could cross over. ODB put the fun in it. GZA was the emcee. RZA was the musician. The others were unique in there own right which deserves a lot of respect as it would have been easy to just sound like who's hot, like most groups do now. IMHO GZA is the best EMCEE in the clan and probably the most underrated of all time. I put GZA inside the top 20 of all time.
moveabrick barry I'd really have to sit down with pen a paper to to be sure about Top Ten of All Time. I can think of a few EMCEE ahead of him. Where would you put Black Thought of the Roots, where is Big Pun, what about Big Daddy Kane, or Kool G Rap, Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel? I guess my criteria for great has a lot of aspects, including impact on the Genre relative to their peers of the time.
mc365mc I've been preaching Black Thought and the Roots for YEARS. Thought is nice off the dome, goes hard live, has bars for days, writes great songs, and is probably the most versatile and consistent Hip Hop performer around.
Wym gza was the musician... I think he was the most scientific, most heady besides rza, but more lyrically digedtable than rza and a better flow. They are all musicians of equal callibur. Method man had the smoothest flow
ONLY BUILT 4 CUBAN LINX, Man what an album. I LOVE that album. I especially love the skit wit Ghostface talkin bout the blue and cream joints. Shit is funny. WU GAMBINOS, WISDOM BODY, come on now.
rza the mastermind gza the professor odb the wild drunkenmaster ins the backbone rae the slang master Ugod the 4 bar killer ghost the storyteller meth the versatility master masta the student cappa the style
Rae got that Brooklyn style. Brooklyn style is wordplay. Wu is The Way Tang is The Slang. Gza, Rae, Rza, Ol' Dirty, Masta Killa, Sunz of Man, 12 O'Clock, GraveDiggaz are Brooklyn Babies. All Brooklyn rappers are nice with wordplay. Grym Reaper ( RIP) was super nice with the wordplay.
masta killa was the most underrated to me. He was like a cross between Meth and gza meanin he had meth's tone but had gza's lyrical style so to speak. Them bars he dropped in mystery of chessboxin were dope it had hard shit with a smidgen of knowledge. I think he didn't shine at the time because of timing. His first solo album didn't drop until like 2005 when real rap been dead. His second album made in Brooklyn had some good stuff on it. The whole clan was nice as hell you know this maaaan.
Hmmm.. yeh, he did have amazing lyrics but his delivery was too monotone and boring for me. He sucked the life out of a few Wu songs, in my opinion.. "Triumph" being one of them. The song just stands still during his verse until Ghost bursts in, breathing life back into the track🙏🤷🏽♀️ *I like WHAT he says, just not HOW he says it😴.
"Yo Meth where my killa tape at God first of all where my, where da fuck is my tape at"? "How you ain't got my shit when I let you hold it man"? Dope interview. #wutangclan

I met Big Daddy Kane the exact same way at Disney World. Didn't ask for a pic though since he was with his family
Rae's slang is absolutely bonkers! Slang master true indeed!!!
Word is bond

Black thought is better than all of them ^
Deck blows every one out of the water
Thsts what made them so good. The competition. Always trying to outdo one another
Facts
@@Trumpwearsadiaper84 not gonna lie, Deck is dope af. He’s like that sleeper amongst the Wu that brings it every time
Realest convo I've heard in a long time. Brotha held no punches and spoke like a man, young generation take notice.
I love how everyone from the Wu speak so highly of RZA

Hell yeah he is..
All because of that one golden verse huh?
Ofcourse. We all agree.
Absolutely. I been saying this. Deck, Gza, and Ghost are the best in Wu but Deck may be the most lyrically gifted.
