Do recommend some books for the ones who are interested in Indian History Ancient and Medival part

Why skip Ramayana and the 16 perfections that Rama possessed? Idea of righteous and dharmic rule is so important there. . Ref to Mahabharata Bhishma's answer is interesting.

In philosophical context, it is called Kala, 15 Kala is same as the phases of moon, representing whole cycle of world, who is poorna, having everything, while 16th Kala is that which is beyond the universe.
Another excellent video! Thank you so much! Keep up the good work!
The Mahabharata verson seems to be a more evolved later version compared to the Buddhist thought. The Buddhist version does not give explanation to the origin of legitimacy while in Mahabharata Yudhisthir clearly asks what gives rise to legitimacy in his question. Yudhisthir's questions are always intelligent like that.
I liked this video. This was less of history, more of how human society and civilization works.
Please make more videos like these.
Early vedic period sounds like Harappan culture and Later vedic sounds like Sanauli OCP culture.
This is what i call quality content.

Yes that injustice is what kings and governments are 🤣

Thank you for these excellent videos and please keep up the good work.
Your content is wonderful.
job well done bro!
How is this even a question?
A group of human always needs a leader and is simply directionless without any..
You are missing the point. The question is how the person who will be king is decided: does it flow through blood? divine right to rule? chosen by this subjects in someway? etc.
@@tarunyadav3567 Not to mention the monarchy can never be a straight arrow as if any form of governance can be. As such, a firm Raja, beneficial or at least not harmful for the people can be the dvipa/island of prosperity among the ocean of anarchy, tyranny, injustice and oppression (line much edited and taken from Upword's video on Sita Ram Goel).
Yes but i guess they didn't ask the more important question how do we make sure that who we elect works for our betterment and not his/her own, how can power be distributed so that it can be utilised fully and does not encourage exploitation. That did not occur until the french revolution
God bless you son. Keep up the good work.
Bhai tu best history youtuber hai.I luv you❤.
The stories definitly tell us that after farming started the king were required.
Please also explain how Yadavas governed in the Mahabharata. The Vrishni, Andhaka, Kukura, Koliya tribes and what was the role of Sangha mukhya as referred to Krishna. Was it different in Mathura and in Dwarka?

Excellent
out of video topic question , but what book would you recommend to know more about alexanders life and his various military expeditions , thank you
you didn't answer the original question Yudhisthir asked. what makes a king different from others and what is the role of king during mahabharat period as explained by Bhisma.
The answer is their in the story, the institution of Kingship is divinely ordained and this makes the person of the King special. That is how Bhishma answers this question.
He has answered. It is divine interference.
If one goes deep into Advaitabaad it will prove that Hinduism and Buddhism are not very different. Actually the God is in every human being. So when people choose the King it is actually a divine intervention. The God only decides the King through His representations among human beings. That's why Advaitabaad is known as Vedanta. It is the ultimate shape of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Basically we all have to truly realise we are representatives of the God, though Godliness finds expressions at various levels among human beings depending on his/her characteristics.
@@JayVardhanSingh Thank you so much for clearing my doubt! I was expecting a more direct and political answer, but it turned out to be quite spiritual 😄. It seems that ancient Indian philosophies and history are deeply intertwined with spirituality, and they need to be understood in context rather than taken literally.
Please make a video on if india has civic architecture post harappa in india like rome's bathhouse, aquaducts, bridges etc.and was our architecture as monumental as rome, iran or egypt

@@ShivanshThakur-sh8ub What is so sad? It is what it is.
What do you think about romila thapar's statement :- yudhisthira had ashoka in his mind ???
Hello, Jay.
I wanted to ask something. In the age of Mahabharata, was everything viewed and shaped from the prism of duty and responsibility that an individual has to the family and society?
Also, was the social fabric of the society (at least the Aryavarta/Brahmavarta region) made of following your father's footsteps when it came to occupation and varna? Was it any different for the females in this society?
Great video and I do hope you make more such videos. Shanti Parva really enamored, not because I studied it or read it and formed my own opinions, but because of the fact that from what little I watched on RUclips and tried to understand was that even if it represented an ossified view of society, at least it was honest.
Thanks for reading. Hope you are doing great.
Edit: Shanti Parva really enamored me instead of Shanti Parva really enamored.
Thank you,
I haven't read much about this particular topics to answer your question.
@@JayVardhanSingh No worries. By the way, are there any key differences between Aryavart and Brahmavarta?
Sir, I want to know how dignified is it for an Indian to pronounce Indian origin words in a foreign style? Example: Deva for देव , Brahmana for ब्राह्मण, Asura for असुर
Search about Schwa deletion in Hindi and how Sanksrit words are actually pronounced.
It's not in foreign style. A sanskrit scholar will pronounce देव as द्+अ +व्+अ, say day and then say v with a short a sound.
While a person who speaks hindi will say द्+अ +व् what you believe is "correct".
And foreginer(westernized) will say द्+अ +व्+आ.
Tbh the 'a' sound is actually the 'uh' sound spoken fast. Like buddh-uh. Chakr-uh
@@parthkhanolkar7916 its definitely not 'uh' but 'a'. Its like if you read देव as two letters दे व instead of how it is read modern Indian languages: देव् (dropping the end schwa). Almost all modern indo-aryan languages consistently drop the end schwa and most drop the middle expect Marathi which is retains middle schwa in quite a few words
Either way there is no "correct" pronunciation. All pronunciations that can be understood by most people are correct
@@tarunyadav3567 Exactly
Its stupid esp for good content.
Western mispronunciation should be avoided.
Bhai you should make a Hindi channel too.

Make video on ancient business community and how economics work is there unemployment
have been watching your videos regularly and respect your scholarship but you seem to have ignored a few facts here regarding the Buddha period republics; these republics were quite different from modern republics in the sense they did not represent all the people but only the clan members of the dominant ruling class. you can see that in the Shakya republic in Kapilvastu who maintained the so called Das-Dasis and refused to give their daughter to Prasenjit and cheated with him by marrying a Dasi to him. Then gain in Vasihali only Lichhavis could be part of the Santhagar to the extent that even Bandhul Malla could not be tolerated to have his wife bathe in the Mangal Pushkararni. secondly, if these republics had nothing to do with monarchical system then how did Buddha was deemed to be the king of the Shakya which he refused although?
I am perfectly aware of the fact that these gana or samghas of Ancient India were not like the modern Republics. That is why I used the term non-monarchial not Republics to avoid confusion. In fact I've made a video some years back on the same topic. Do watch it.
ruclips.net/video/qY2_SNIliOM/видео.html&ab_channel=JayVardhanSingh
@@JayVardhanSingh in your view you may have presented the facts in the best possible manner, yet somehow they shadow the facts as we know that existed at that time; when you say in non-monarchial states the 'people' played most important role- you are hiding all the facts that i mentioned in my previous comment. my point is whether monarchy or the so called Gana-Rajya, only the elite clan was ruling. In one the succession was decided by war among princes and in the other it was decided by consensus among the clan members. You can see this little difference reflecting in the management of rulership in the Vrishni clan of Krishna and Kuru clan of Arjuna. The so called 'people' were not really involved. People carries altogether a different meaning in modern context.
Bro, make a video on, from when indo-aryan languages entered india........
Indo aryan never entered this is British propaganda india bhumi is land of arya dravidias everyone is native
Bro there's another view on the date of panini, which suggests that he lives before budha
Plz tell us about that too
May the gods bless you maha gyani jaivardanha😂😂❤❤
I love your content, but I have one suggestion. You frequently repeat the same point over and over again in different ways. Here the point about elected vs. appointed is made 2X. Once to describe the evidence, then to summarize the evidence. Sometimes it comes again the third time. The Viraja definition comes 2X. If that happens once or twice, its ok, but it happens multiple times in each of your videos. Maybe the script writing could be tighter. Just a constructive critique that could make your future videos better. Thanks for making this interesting content!
Waht is the quality of Raja as per shanti parc of mahabharata,
And how correct translate raja as king,
Watched the video for 2 minutes and 33 seconds. Can you please get to the point quickly instead of endlessly qualifying each and every thought using those ancient texts?
Lmao you want a history channel to not discuss the intricacies of history?
The KINGS *corrupted* hindu religious texts to revolve around their narcissistic self image and delusions of greatness and used them to get respect and obedience from the peasants who they oppressed.
They used the religious castes by giving them a high position in society, but also made them write, preach, and support mythological stories which secretly hype up kings, by saying 'god chooses the king', 'the king is just one of you' 'the king is chosen by everyone' etc. in many different versions.
But look today, even if the average Indian peasant isn't free from ruling fantasy oppresions, they have still managed to dismantle the monarch system, but now they are stuck getting oppressed by capital owners and their bottom feeder politicians. Even this shall pass in time😅

Bro make a video on oldest religion s.
I will be honest it looks like you are educated from communist books, and trying to adopt a sanatan path to stay relevant.
are the firrst raja only after the arrival of hinduism.
Here the presenter is trying to give us an insight into the minds of ancient Indians about the origin of kingship, hence he gave us the examples of stories from Mahabharata and Vinaya which are Indian texts.
If he were to make a video about ancient European political thought, he would be quoting stories of Greek and Nordic religions. But would that mean kings existed only after arrival of European religions?????
