Honestly sonic heroes is an example of a game I actually want to get a remake. I think the game is immensely flawed and could use little changes to make it better as I think its emblematic of both what I love and hate about sonic. The Art direction is perfect featuring best level themeing in the entire series. The ost is amazing but the main problem I have is that the game is poorly paced and the game is the most unpolished sonic game leading to unfair deaths. I don't want remakes of games that are already good. I want remakes of games that would actually benefit from it
Fun Fact : The engine that used for Sonic Heroes was Renderware, and it's also used for the GTA PS2 games, and those games got a remaster on modern platforms, and you probably know the results.
I hope they remake it from scratch if that’s the case. Plus I think due to legal reasons they may not even be able to port the original game anyways.

LETS GOOO! I’m so happy Sonic Heroes is getting a remake because Heroes is my favorite Sonic game. Let’s hope they fix the insane combat a little bit. Now I can’t wait to see Sonic Heroes getting a remake.

I do also believe it's smart to remake Heroes purely because Sega seems to be a lot more open to embracing the extended Sonic cast. Frontiers and the Movies brought a lot of new eyes to the series, and with how games like Murder of Sonic helped introduce newer Sonic fans to the extended cast, it DOES make sense to do some kinda remaster/remake/rerelease of a game like Sonic Heroes where most of that cast is playable
Also, I'm indifferent on whether we get the OG voice cast or the current cast, but I'm not too upset if it's the latter, because I've been DYING to hear Roger do an official Metal Sonic voice

True, but I would've loved to see 06 be remade into what it should've been instead of what we got.
SEGA most likely lost the original Sonic Heroes source code since this game was developed using RenderWare, which is now a defunct game engine. So a Remake from scratch would be great.

I guess the reason that they go with heroes being remade because they know that if they somehow or rather really botch SA one and two... They will never hear the end of it. They just want to see if they can actually remake Sonic Heroes first and see if they can really make the most of unreal engine 5 before they go and try to remake the more appraised Sonic games.

I mean, seeing how they handled Origins and Colours doesn't fill me with much hope...but fingers crossed they don't make a total hash of things.

Not sure what planet you are living on. When origins came out it was full of bugs and optimisation issues and Colors not been by Sega is irrelevant. They outsourced it and still published it, they made the final calland chose the studio.@@reggielacey2235

A remake for Unleashed would need to fix *EVERYTHING* about the Werehog. The combat, the controls... *EVERYTHING* about it needs a complete ground up overhaul.
I don’t get the big whoop about the werehog I mean I haven’t played a gow game but I’ve played other beat em ups and it’s really not as bad as people say it is
Doing an overhaul does not always mean that it will be completely diffrent, it is entirely possible to still keep the same fundamental concept and just build it better.
And in addition to an overhaul of night gameplay, there is a very easy sidestep that I would make the team implement instantly if I were in charge of an unwiished remake(diffrent game, but same idea applies because it has the same day/night-split): Just let people choose at the start of the game to create the savefile in "day gameplay only-mode". People who are uninteressted in getting the full experience...can just not get the full experience. Who cares as long as everyone is happy?

@@reggielacey2235 Some of the best remakes of all time rebuild everything to be fundamentally the same. What bits and pieces one should keep and what should be changed is an active part of the process, the all or nothing-approach actively sucks.

It's probably due to its success, Sonic heroes is one of the most popular and successful modern Sonic games, making it the safest bet. The other games such as sa1, 2, 06 etc are far riskier due to lesser popularity.
I’m not proud of this, but I’m 12. That means I grew up with SONIC FORCES. *FORCES.* But I’m not blinded by my nostalgia for Forces. I still kinda like SA1 and SA2, though I prefer boost. Sonic Unleashed and Generations is the goat. No questions asked.

Dude. All your complaints about Heroes can be fixed by… making the remake! You saying no is just gonna make the game still be bad cuz you won’t have a better heroes to play. You literally said SA1 & SA 2 have so many problems that need a remake to fix. you are seriously strange if everything inside heroes sucks to you. what is your favorite sonic game then, Sonic Pocket Adventure? you need to make a long video reviewing all aspects of the Sonic Heroes game. and compare them to the rest of the series. cuz you will find so many aspects you like.
@@Kiezly I don't like the gameplay. The controls are slippery, the combat is mind numbing, the level design is lengthy and repetitive. It is just such a frustrating game to play.

Unleashed is very accessible on Xbox. Heroes is the game least accessible to the console community so im very excited for this
I'm personally going to wait for more information before I start becoming interested. I'd imagine that this would create a debate on whether the remake or the original is better. I've personally never played Heroes, so if this is real, then I'll buy it and give it a try.

If sonic 06 never released I may never knew sonic existed it was the first sonic game I’ve ever played
3:14 it is not just playing the four different stories to unlock the final story. You also have to collect the seven Chaos Emeralds in the special stages to unlock the final story. If you have finished all four stories, but haven't collected the Chaos Emeralds, then you have to go back and play those levels again until you beat the seven, (or was it 14), special stages to collect the seven Chaos Emeralds. If you had finished one story, but was able to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds, you still need to finish the other three stories to unlock the final story. All of this came from memory, so I might've gotten some information messed up. But that is what I could remember from playing the game years ago.
And that's exactly why the game is trash.

I disagree with your opinion on Sonic Heroes. The game is a childhood classic and huge nostalgia for me. But you make some valid points though about the game being slippery with the controls.

Only Gen Z's like @SFProductuons1 wouldn't know anything cool about Sonic Heroes.
The chase scene from team sonic team dark like I was on frog forest and I got attack from the alligator and I lost all of my rings. Before getting into the action, you will select the game’s difficulty. Easy: falling only takes half a heart away, and you have infinite lives. Medium: falling into a hole costs you a full heart if you lose three lives and you restart at the checkpoint. Jumanji: once again, falling will cost a full heart; the enemies hit harder, and losing three lives restarts you at the checkpoint.
Knowing that Sonic 06 could've been remaid makes me immensely sad because I love that game (many flaws and all) and would love to see the idealized version they wanted to make.

Loved this game as a child. I probably beat the game a dozen times or so. And almost 100% all the stories except for Hero and Dark story. I think I was 95% or around that for them two.

I know that it'll never happen but I would really love to see Sonic Boom get the same Treatment cause the Series itself is completely Underrated and it deserves a 2nd Chance to shine in the Spotlight.

It makes sense. It's the least accessible Sonic game to play in modern times even including the PC port you mentioned, it's the best selling Sonic game of all time, even still outselling Frontiers due to it being the first Sonic game to go multiplatform, like you said, it appeals to a wider range of audiences due to its simplicity, and it has, out of all the possible games to remake, the best level design due to how varied they are as well as the aesthetic being perfect for Unreal Engine 5 to upgrade. Not even Unleashed can claim to have the best level design due to the night time stages limiting us to the slow as molasses wherehog as well as how linear the day time stages are in comparison.
Pretty much summed up my thoughts. To a Sonic fan, they could tolerate Heroes faults due to it being a game they love. But to the average consumer, the crowd that Sega is prioritizing, the faults of heroes they may not enjoy. So they’re going to have to address the issues, which may cause the spirit of the game to be negated.
Also, you can’t expect all of the voice cast from the game to return, same with the riskiness of the stages. Expect some automation and voice work redone. It’ll be a modern version of Heroes to fit the brand.
And not just Heroes, between sa1 to frontiers, most modern Sonic games require the user to have fairly high tolerance for crap to enjoy them. With Colours and Generations being the outliers.

Sonic Heroes i played for the first time as a kid on a cruise already being a fan of the 2d games, i would then go on the website and watch the trailer every day until years after when i could afford it and it was my first 3d sonic game i holds it in my heart daily
I’m exited as I was never able to play the OG. I think that having heroes remastered could be cool if they fixed some of the issues or added bones content.
I haven't played Heroes. I'm kind of wanting to try it out, but I've heard about a lot of issues with it that keep me from doing so. One thing they should do is make it so you just have to play through Team Sonic's campaign to unlock the Final Story. Then the other campaigns unlock an extra phase of the final boss or something like that. I am a little bummed about this since that means the fan remake that Beatz was working on probably won't get off the ground now. Still, I'm curious to see how this turns out. While Unleashed and/or the Adventure games would have been more ideal, at least there are ways to play those games with mods that help them live up to their full potential.
Heroes was my first Sonic game, so I really hope it gets remade.
Also Heroes may be the best choice, because it may fix all the issues Heroes has, plus the potential it has for bonus content and more is more varying than all the other Sonic games you mentioned, like imagine a unlockable Sega All-Star team featuring Aiai or Beat as the Speed Type, NiGHTS as the Flight Typer, one of the Streets of Rage characters as the Power Type. Maybe even a possible custom team option to unlock!
I can understand your frustration, but heroes is my FAVORITE Sonic game so I’m very happy. I think I could convince you that it’s good. It takes a lot of patience to enjoy it but when you do, man does it feel good to play.

I am so, so desperate for the future. Thinking about this, also has me thinking about my wish the great old times of seeing Sonic, his friends, and others in 3D action, cutscenes, and stuff continued. As much as I also wish I knew what was the huge deal, I wish there was a new character created and introduced in the series to be Silver and Blaze's other best friend. I will share with whoever gladly and respectfully replies telling me they are interested to find out about my imaginary Sonic character for Silver and Blaze.

Yeah, sa2 has a lot of major issues, like 2/3rds of the game not playing like a Sonic game. Remaking it into a good game would effectively be making a brand new game.
I love Sonic Heroes.
Even I admit that it has those problems you mentioned. Running at high speeds is slippery, combat (particularly the Homing Attack) is just spammy, and some of the lines are cringeworthy. ("Why can't I defeat you?" "Because we're Sonic He~roes!")
But the concept is awesome and that's why I think a Remake is perfect and not a mere remaster.
Ok, so while I have alot to say about this, the thing that sticks out to me is its using unreal engine 5.
Sonic Heroes is a renderware game, and do you know what else is a renderware game? GTA3(and its follow ups) when when those game were "remade" back in 2021, it was just the original code brought over to Unreal 4(might have been 5 but in pretty sure it was UE4) and just used new code to replace modles and adjust controls.
The prospect of sega doing that to heroes is scary, heroes is a game that has alot of promise, but the controls are broken, but there so much good in it. If its a ground up remake, no worries, BUT they might just be doing what the GTA trilogy did, witch was quickly rush out q sub par product that didn't get the time and love it needed to be special.
Seeing as Sonic Heroes is getting a remake, (And this is the very first time SEGA are planning a remake in years) I am both excited but sceptical. When remaking a game, there's a lot to execute and resources to make throughout the process. So I can only hope that the team pull it off without reverting back to their same mishaps like they did for both Sonic Colours Ultimate and Sonic Origins.
My nephew's will like being able to control multiple sonic characters at once.
Hopefully they would find a way to make it far less repetitive or give more variance to each route and fix the Special Stages to more manageable.

as happy as i am with the idea of heroes getting a remaster for the sake of reliving my childhood...I have to agree with the idea of unleashed getting a port due to how near to inaccessible the game is in these times. Hell, they can even fix a couple issues ppl had with the game in terms of quality life improvements, like with the homing attack, better control of the drift mechanic like in generations, and handle the frame rate issues it had on its og consoles with next gen hardware...
Heroes BADLY needs this, not just a remake, but a whole new rebuild...
And ffs can we PLEASE have Robotnik back?! I miss when we had the serious and sinister Julian Robotnik from SAM - hell I'd settle for Underground! But from Adventure onward we went from an antagonist we loved to hate to "Eggman" a punchline with no justification. We had that with AoSTH and that was it's own thing in its glory and it worked in its own way, so yeah...
I wanted to like the original, but the slippery controls really brought my opinion down. If they can fix that and tweak the level design a bit, I'm sure I would enjoy it. Excited!
When is Sonic Lost World going to get a remaster since I have a Xbox One (soon planning to upgrade to an Xbox Series S) and a Nintendo Switch.
You see, i hate heroes, and that's EXACTLY why i actually have a bit of hope with this remake, For other Games like Advneture 1 & 2 or unleashed, in their original versions are more than enjoyable, but heroes is that one game that, no matter what, i just CAN'T enjoy at all
I think a full on remake is exactly the oportunity to fix this broken mess of a game, and maybe thanks to the remake i can finally enjoy a game i was never able to.

In unreal engine 5 this would be interesting. The renderware engine was completely defunked that it ran on. This means it’ll be COMPLETELY built up from the ground up.

Using UE5 is likely not about graphics but general familiarity. Them finally getting used to using a more popular engine should makes things easier and more efficient when hiring other programmers or collaborating with other companies that likely already have familiarity with the engine, instead of having to spend time and money getting them to learn their own proprietary engines.
another thing to point out would be, of the five games, heroes is the only one without humans present, and despite what they tell us, humans won't be playing a role for the foreseeable future
I'm not a big Sonic fan but Heroes was one my favorite Sonic games, so this is a pretty interesting remake
