Fascinating: I LOVE the fact that 'Grab' built their own stand - sooner or later, the taxi mafia will have to get their act together since so many people are aware of their BS. We took the Airport Rail Link and that was the bestest!

Grab seems to have a Que already.. I wonder if the regular drivers have grab on there phones also to disrupt the process a little.. who knows 🤷🏼

The train gets you to the city center faster and far cheaper than the taxis. I've had it with taxis and tuk tuks and now pretty much organize my trip around things I can get to by BTS and MRT.

We went to Thailand around 4 weeks ago. When we went to pick up the hire car I saw the Grab kiosk for the first time - it was really busy and the queue was very long. Hopefully it will make the other taxi providers clamp down on the way their drivers price trips.

There was a little que when I filmed the video as well actually to be fair. I highly recommend using the airport rail link to save both time, money and hassle all around

We went to the Grand Palace on a Big Buddha day 2 years ago. They said it was closed because the King was there. Went anyway and it was true with soldiers everywhere. But also said no ferries were running that day and had to get private boat trip-bullshit.

Got a taxi at the airport last week and the meter racked up 100 baht is about 5 minutes. I called out the scam and by some miracle the meter returned to normal… I wish I knew about the grab rank. Bkk taxi’s suck…

Great Video ! Saw the Keis One vid too, and great reminder on how people everywhere in the world behave when scamming. I have traveled the USA with work and had been in NYC for 4 months on a project and saw a lot of what you are talking about :)

Deliberately delaying your change is a tactic, hoping you'll give up waiting. I've even experienced people assuming that they can keep the change.

It's incredibly and amazingly stupid how these taxi drivers are, the more they scam the more business revenue they lose for themselves. They're just pushing the money they should be making to drivers like grab and bolt.

The drivers don't think that far ahead, they are purely thinking of what they can make right at that moment.

Becareful when renting a condo. It took me 6 months to get my 50,000 thb deposit back. Many real-estate agencies cannot get your deposit back. It's all between you and the owner of the condo unit.

Crazy. I’ve been in Thailand about 4 times now and never experience any form of scam.
My partner is Asian though. She’s a good deterrent 😂.

The buses from the airport run from 06:00 to 21:00 cost about $5 USD. A Taxi will cost about 1,200 baht ($33) . Buses and taxis leave from the airport . Try to get Thai baht before arrival. Thai ATM. Charge 250 baht ($7. USD) per transaction

If for cars then yeah credit cards with major companies for sure but should be aware of smaller unknown companies just to be on the safe side

Firstly.. not one single person has done a US Embassy list. Secondly I put out original content about an amazing train track market here in Bangkok and it’s dead in the water because nobody is searching for some thing they don’t know about. Feel free to watch that video though and share.. every time I make original content of new places I lose money and views. It’s a tricky situation to juggle unfortunately. I’d love to make original content every time but it would be almost impossible to keep the channel running

Rubbish it's one of the worst cities for scams. Everyone visiting Bangkok for the first time should watch this and more videos on scams. I hate seeing people being scammed. I told a few people this trip if they need to travel by tuk tuk or taxi download bolt and be safe. Yes the fare can come out a little higher due to traffic or something but it will still be safer and you have the drivers details if anything happens but it's the safest option
