I'm 68 and retired after nearly 40 years in the Australian Army. Your world is vastly removed from my experiences and it is fascinating to be allowed to sit on your shoulder as you share your days. The teams who support you are skilled and dedicated. I'm always learning but this episode on culture and changing it caught my attention. Words are just words without actions to make them happen.

Loving the vlogs so far. One thing I'd like more of an insight into is the booking of podcast guests. How far in advance do you have your guests booked in? How do you decide which guests to book? How easy is it to secure every booking you want? To what extent do you and the guests agree to a list of things to talk about before each episode? What is your relationship like with the guests before and after the podcast happens? Thanks!

I watch these vlogs because I learn so much. I especially love seeing how you run your business and the marketing aspects of Diary of a CEO, but I've learnt something from every single vlog. I just love knowing how it all works, how everything fits together and seeing in detail what you're working on. I've never seen an entrepreneur/business owner do something like this (in as much detail as you) and it's great.

Having the opportunity to do an internship with you and your team would be the absolute dream! I'm assuing that having interns is risky and tiring but I really, really hope you have more open calls like those in the future, I would 1000% apply. Thank you for doing these vlogs, it's so nice to be able to see behind the scenes of such an amazing team like yours!

I love the behind the scenes as much as the Podcast. I've gone back several years now to watch your interviews and have told everyone I can about Steven Barlett what I have learned and how the podcast can benefit them. I love watching your growth. As an entrepreneur who has spent nearly 30 years empowering women, I love to recognize that I can be empowered by a man.

There is always a story of failure before success. There is always a story behind a smiling person. You don't always see their full story. Thank you for making those stories more important to be heard than the "normal success stories." World needs those! We crave them!
You, Steven, and actually the whole DOAC team, have thought me to be kind to every single human being always. Leave them in a better mood or just understand them in their struggles. Make them feel heard and seen. And it's not about only being kind, it's about being transparent. To show my more vulnerable side to people around me also. To share my full story more openly. How I overcome hard times, enjoy small moments & sometimes believe too much that at the end of the day it works out just like it's supposed to.. And my fav from you: "Quitting is for winners!"
You have given me so much knowledge when giving a voice for so many people on your podcast. And on this channel.
And if I cry again when I watch your DOAC vlogs then you guys have touched my heart really deep... like so much that I will make something big to get this internship myself! Already know a place to stay in UK - so that's planned :) It's actually a promise to myself more than to you! Honesty towards myself is number one!

I forgot to mention that I admire your interview style immensely. You can tell you did research, but I never feel like you have an agenda. One can tell you are actively listening to the guests and you questions come from that. It's refreshing. Thank you!!!

I never usually leave comments on RUclips but i've been watching the podcast since 2021. The information you share with us via great guests and questions is invaluable and the content you've been putting out there has really inspired me to be a better version of myself, so I just wanted to say thanks for all the amazing work the team at DOAC do!
However, even though I listen to your podcast, I have started to look forward to these vlogs just as much because it's so interesting to see how much you can get done in a day and the amount of hard work (and team work) that goes into the success of not only the podcast and RUclips channel but all the businesses you run simultaneously and companies you're invested in. We all get so used to seeing the picture of perfect success without seeing the struggle and years of work that comes along with that and wondering how they got there, so it's really refreshing to see how much hard work, commitment and dedication goes into what you do every single day and what that actually looks like in a schedule/day in your life. I use these vlogs to fuel myself to reach my own goals in my life just as much as the podcast, so thanks again!
P.S: I also wish more companies valued their staff as much as you do, I travel and work online making content here on YT amongst other things but you make working in an office look fun, challenging and rewarding again... let's hope more companies look to you for inspiration on that!

I guess I watch your videos because it shows how much you can fit into a day and how rewarding it can be. There’s also a few golden nuggets you drop which are priceless to use in my own life. You show so much of your business’, but you don’t show so much of you. I understand this topic is very personal, but every RUclipsr I watch I feel like I know them which is why I am so invested in them, but I don’t feel like I know you so well I only know what you do not why you do it. Love the videos, both RUclips & podcasts. Happy new year to you and your team and I look forward to watching your weekly videos 👌

I might not have the exact words, but there's a saying: 'A wise man learns from others.' Watching these videos motivates me to better myself, especially when I see different lifestyles. In your videos, I see a healthy life, which serves as a wake-up call for me. I imagine myself in your shoes, thinking about how I'd handle situations you share. This mindset shift has transformed me from a university dropout to a self-taught graphic designer by the way if you ever need a thumbnail designer, I'm ready to join the family-just joking. In short, this video inspires me to aim higher. Aklog from East africa, Ethiopia.

I finally received the cards. i truly love them. i especially love the addition of being able to find out who answered them. I was getting frustrated trying to "reverse engineer" to try to ascertain who left the questions. I am loving the vlog. My only critique would be feeling like it is missing part of your life on a more personal level. I do however understand wanting and or needing to hold back. Happy New Year to the whole DOAC family!!!

I watch these because it gives us a visual of the laws you wrote in your book and not only that but seeing you in action handling so much with a team…shows that we can make it! We can do it! (cheesy…i know lol) but when I became a manager for the first time I said I’d try to be the best manager, someone took a chance on me and I got to handle my own project, then an entire program. I learned so quickly that its about the team you have around you whether they already came with great talent or I show them the ropes and mold them to greatness. I was so happy! and seeing that you cherish your team too and dont follow the norm when it comes to hiring also is great too. You really just put trust and show them they can if they just put in the work. So those are the MANY reason why I watch your series. I found you through Dr. Ali as his videos are amazing on productivity and his book, but he recommended your book, then I went to research you, found your podcast and I watch it daily! Bought your book after a couple of episodes too, keep it up Steven! And your team is amazing too. big shout out to them.

Love watching these episodes. I’m a marketer by profession and it’s great to watch your whole team working and creating, it feeds my drive to stay connected to fresh thinking and challenge how I work with my team. I like the new edition of the tips throughout, subtle but super effective. The anchoring to your calendar throughout really works for me to keep engaged as you dart around to different things as well. One extra if I could be so bold, if you could add the podcast episode to the name of the people you interview as they pop up on the clips that would be awesome. It’s then easier to go back to re listen or spot ones you’ve missed.
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!

I notice an empty shelf on your set...Wondering what will be filling it? Love the short snappiness of this series. We see more of the 'you'. Have you considered Spanian as a guest on the DOAC? I have a knack of 'spotting' people (like I did you) and he fascinates me, think he will be huge. Ex Aussie convict who seems to have done a huge u-turn in life. Think he would be great on your show and I know you have worked with prisoners so it might just be up your street? He was considering heading to the UK in Jan I believe. Thanks.

Thank you so much for sharing what it’s like behind the scenes. I recently found your podcast and started binge watching and learning so many lessons from you but the most important lesson I learned from you was you don’t have to learn the way school and society say you have to. I’m a 46 year old mom of 3 who decided to leave the US and move out the country to be able to just figure out my truth without all the noise. I’ve learned that I have adhd and recently found out I’m also dyslexic, me not knowing about this I made myself invisible and not even try at all because I was traumatized from failing often and so afraid to fail again . Watching you and hearing your stories gave me hope and help me see & believe that I do have something to offer. I’m creative, innovative, love learning from stories and coming up with ideas that can help people not feel lost like I did for so long. Now I’m excited about learning everyday my way. I will be a faithful follower on your channel & continue to watch, take notes. I am creating my own life school and I’m picking the things I want to learn about, figuring out how I learn so that I can retain and apply the information and teach and share it with others one day. Please continue to share your unapologetic truth and your journey. I appreciate you💖
    New student of my life,
    Pam

Happy New Year Steven and the amazing team! I loved seeing and hearing about bloopers-everyone needs to be reminded that all great businesses or podcasts have bumps in the road-and someday you can look back and smile at them. Also, the authenticity and encouragement shown to the young CEO of Heaven's Delights was heartwarming, human, and inspiring to anyone who is trying to grow their business or career. "There are leaders like Steven out there who will stop, talk, encourage, and maybe give me a chance one day." I am sure others loved that moment too!
Bottom line: Businesses are built on people and their creativity-and they will follow you to the moon and back when you are authentic, relatable, and inspiring. Really good episode. Thank you!

The podcast has had such a positive influence in my life, I enjoy watching these videos as they help me feel more connected to the community, it also gives me a greater appreciation for the work and care that goes into the content I enjoy most, and therefore gives even more value to what you and the team do. Thank you.

Hey Steve and DOAC team, I’ve literally watched all of the episodes of the podcast and the Behind the Diary, and wow, I’m amazed how valuable this kind of videos are, deep conversations, a loads of learning and tips on how to be a better person and how to create or support a business.
I can’t think about any other platform that deliver value to their listeners more than you and your crew. A real MBA of life and business.
    Much love from Brazil 🇧🇷

I’m watching BTD for the same reason I watch great movies. I’m transformed and taken away for 2hrs with you it’s 22:01 mins
I always take something away from both of your shows. Your production quality is what makes me crave watching. The content of behind the scenes is mind blowing. Mind blowing that you can get shit done man! It inspires me to treat my life like I’m the CEO to get shit done! Thank you for the delicious show.

The vlog is fantastic, and I've been enjoying it all the way from Florida with love. I do want to mention that during the second business meeting, it was a bit disruptive when it seemed like you were chewing gum or something similar. It would be appreciated if you could avoid chewing gum during meetings or when filming. Aside from that, the 20 minutes behind the scenes are genuinely entertaining and inspiring.

Leaving this comment because u said u read each one - I like seeing the behind the scenes of the DOAC interviews as well as your thoughts on them - seeing/hearing ur reactions to the interview with Brian (airbnb) made me curious-it also helped the algorithm played it next lol but it made me want to watch it and I did. I also watched the Daniel Ek interview after seeing snippets of the behind the scenes from this. Hope this feedback helps!

The Podcast has become a huge part of me Steven to say It's my Identity is an understatement. I was recommending it to my Team Leader a few weeks ago telling him I feel gulty consuming all this Knowlege alone, some of the Interactions you have are truly impactful and life changing at times I just wanna stop the world and get everyone in a room and force them to Listen. Bless you!

If you're neurodivergent, Steven, it's going to make a world of difference to me because you are someone that people look up to, so it may help people to understand and not eye roll and judge using preconceptions. It's a daily battle being ASD and to have someone like you alter workplaces and accept us and forge a new norm where people can work within their difference and feel like they're positively contributing would be so very welcome. My vision of a neurodivergent workplace would make it the norm for people to work the hours (I do my best and creative work during the night) and in the environment in which they are most productive and change 'office culture' to include (but not pressure) people who are part of a team, but have their own needs with regard to how that looks and works for them. We're such an untapped resource just because we don't fit in with work and social 'norms". It's time for a change.

Loved this episode - what I found fascinating is when you talked about your podcast how you thought it would be about all these different human traits - but instead you have found as people we are much more similar - maybe it would be great to focus a bit more on that - what is it that is similar? Focusing on the universal truths of humanity, showing that in a world that tries to seperate, we are way more similar than different. Over the last 7 years that is what Justine my partner and I I have done - 300 short film stories later we have found the same thing - we celebrate the infinite beauty of being human - and I think you for doing the same. Have a beautiful year.
