I remember when this session came out and how obsessed I was with their music. Still to this day there isn't another band that has the same raw dissonant melodies that can capture any emotion. Blessed to have seen them live.
bro seriously, they got me through my angsty early 20's. I remember when they played choke live before they even dropped the track, absolutely insane. Music still holds up even though the scene is mostly dead
Alex Re was gone before Tragedy Will Find Us if I recall, and he was replaced by Adrian. Jesse left a couple months ago, and got replaced by the old guitarist from Hundredth (I think?). The drummer Kelly is definitely out for sure. It's crazy how their lineup changed lol, but I'm just glad Brendan is still here.
blake did play in hundredth. he's been posting some counterparts riffs that will be on the upcoming album and it sounds quite similar to the difference between hell and home.
I Discover alot of bands that i really dig through AudioTree. You guys always have your finger on the pulse. Even if it takes a couple years for it to catch on. I just came across the Now,Now episode and i really really liked it. The sound is great and you get a feel as if you are there, in studio with everyone. Great work. You can tell the AudioTree love what they do and are always trying to do what they do on the highest level they can. Big Fan. Thank YOU.
Could anyone tell me the list of songs that they perform passionately? I have felt directly the performance of counterparts in Japan!!! That was fucking awesome.
What is happening? This is the internet. Why aren't you calling him names, or telling him about your sexual exploration of his mothers body? Why are you so nice? You sir, have restored my faith in humanity for the day. Well done sir. Respect.
I've watch this session a couple of times and I always get goosebumps every time. this line-up was perfect. Counterparts right now is still killer though.
actually right now they are the best they ever been live, the next album will tell the true story without Jesse writing the music but I think the sky is the limit for them as a band with the current lineup
I personally don't care about hundreth's guitar stuff. And knowing adrian as the pop guy. I'm pretty sure counterparts is dead and gone for me at least. But maybe the new record will prove me wrong, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
As far as I know, Jesse has been the main guy on songwriting when he was still in the band. We'll see how the upcoming album would be without him. Bouquet is beyond my expectation tho
just searched for this session on Audiotree to be linked back to RUclips and find out it was uploaded here 5 days ago. still one of my favorite sessions from you guys. considering the recent lineup changes of this band, I'm actually really stoked to hear how their new album will sound will the 2 new members.
for me, this is the best lineup counterparts ever had. but still, looking forward n excited what could the current lineup give in the future. #counterparts4lyf
When people ask what music I love, I first show them Counterparts. Only band to make two albums back to back I swear are the best concept albums that speak deeply about human experience and faith. Btw I am Catholic
Big props to the band, obviously. I just one to point out ... damn, the host is one of the best interviewers out there. So casual, yet so "not a single reason to skip "the talking" part".
You have lots of fans and supporters here in the philippines so come here and play for us dont feel hesitate because we are going to give you some amazing crowd surfing stage dives moshpit and hardcore dance.
MAN im having this , what I see as the best fucking experience in life..... of finding a new band that absolutely BLOWS UR MIND! THANKS BOYS AND THANKS UNIVERSE FOR CREATING MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!
The Constant - Opening Music I will graciously accept that my life's work, Whether it be in the past, the present, Or the future will be overshadowed by those around me With a different definition of success. Though I can't explain the path I've chosen, All I know is I'm right where I need to be. And though I've turned down a chance at fame and fortune, I know that there is no greater payment than this. And I'm so fucking far from the life I'm supposed to lead, And the man I'm supposed to be and I couldn't be happier And I will remain a constant, I know where I stand, And I refuse to let their selfishness take control of who I am While I may die poor, at least my life had meaning, There's more to life than living, and I truly feel alive And I know that when I die, There will be others who feel the same way ready to take my place This is our song of protest I promise you that nothing is slowing us down While I may die poor, at least my life had meaning, There's more to life than living and I truly feel alive And I know that when I die, there will be others who feel the same way Ready to take my place. I will laugh in the face of those who tell me different Even with both of my feet planted firmly on the ground, I am free to move in my own direction. I will remain a constant I know where I stand
Met counterparts in I believe 2013 in North Carolina when I was stationed at Bragg one of my friends actually knew them through a mutual friend named Martin so we got to talk to them after their show they were cool as hell peps honestly but they didn’t have anywhere to stay so they were trying to find somewhere to stay for the night but I lived in the Barracks so they definitely couldn’t stay with me or I would’ve definitely let them and though my friend had his own apartment but he was married with a son so they had a better chance of staying with me than him lol but I felt bad asf just leaving them like that hopefully they found someone they could stay with that night but if anyone from Counterparts is seeing this I know it’s late now but did y’all ever find anywhere to stay if y’all remember that night lol
Bring back Counterparts for the 2nd time with the new guys! This needs to be done!
brendon would fucking destroyyy
Mimi Sanchez yyeesss please
@@AreTrees this is Brendan....
Tom Paradise I think he meant Brendan would destroy if they did a new session. His vocals have gotten insane in recent times
I prefer and miss this lineup.
0:53 The Constant
7:48 John Locke
11:32 I Am No One
17:37 Witness
23:14 Wither
30:38 The Disconnect

Bring them back! Their new material is amazing!
I remember when this session came out and how obsessed I was with their music. Still to this day there isn't another band that has the same raw dissonant melodies that can capture any emotion. Blessed to have seen them live.

Yessss, Movements would be amazing
BRING THEM BACK!
I miss Jesse & Alex...loved their guitar work, but I'm really hyped for what Counterparts has in store for us in the future.
Thanks for the upload!
Did both of their guitarrists left? I thought only one did and the drummer.
I didnt knew about Alex! Im curious to know how their upcoming album will sound!
blake did play in hundredth. he's been posting some counterparts riffs that will be on the upcoming album and it sounds quite similar to the difference between hell and home.

I've seen this video in different parts of my life, and each time I enjoy more a different moment.. Thank you so much for this upload.

Wither is amazing. wither gets me in my feelings.
I've watch this session a couple of times and I always get goosebumps every time. this line-up was perfect. Counterparts right now is still killer though.
I got recommended by youtube, time to time. Glad that they had this vids still intact.
Glad these guys are finally getting the attention they deserve
The chemistry between this lineup is incredible.
thank you for uploading the full session, i literally listen to john Locke every day :P
Gonna miss this line up. counterparts wont be the same.
actually right now they are the best they ever been live, the next album will tell the true story without Jesse writing the music but I think the sky is the limit for them as a band with the current lineup

youre right, the new stuff is better

pundredth 🤘😝🤘
My god. This is my first time actually listening to a few of their songs back to back, and this hit me with so many emotions. Especially during Wither
Wither is so emotionally heavy, it's fucking ridiculous
this band saves my life.
"The Disconnect" was a great performance.
Still holding as the best live version!
@@ThiagoBigHead yeah, I agree.
Saw this lineup in Hamilton last night do the disconnect it was legendary
Brendan murphy, and Jesse Doreen are the humblest musicians i've ever met at a show.
i heard it over and over again, but the backing vocal at 25:47 was so good i'm crying.
They need to come back in 2023!!
More people need to hear and see this.
Goddamit I love this band!!
They need to do a part 2 in the studio!!!
miss u jesee, alex, kely 💗
This lets me tear up everytime, YOU THINK YOU‘RE JOHN FUCKINGG LOCKE + i am no one
