Got mine for my 13th birthday 50 years ago. I was a diver (air) a pilot a bush hunter an engineer, still love it today. Its had such a hard life that it's beyond repair today, still runs, but that's what happens to a tool watch. So I started collecting Seiko divers. Love your work.
Great vid, I'm laughing my head off here. Years ago these weren't really my deal so I didn't give them any attention. They never really grew on me then a while back, a bit like learning a new language something went 'ding!' and I just kinda got it. They really are a special thing. Thanks Spencer.
Just found Mine today.... Its really been in a drawer for 35 years ...first owner . .... Only a bit scratching on the crystal but overall almost flawless.. My biggest Seiko Fantasy came out today
Bond would use his watch as a knuckleduster, and now we have Spencer using a 6105 as a frisbee to whack the Seiko executive on the forehead! I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that!! 😂😂😂
Great video, what do you charge to service 1 of these, i recently picked a 1 owner 6105 8000, which was a military guys, is the proof dual version and i fairly early production, does run but needs lume cleaned etc case has sharp lines.
Looks like my 6105-8119 only less scratches. I had mine serviced about a year and a half ago and had the crystal replaced with an OEM in the bag Seiko crystal. I bought mine at Barksdale AFB at the BX in ‘76.

The 58 is the closest I can get, but I’ll have to sacrifice something! Maybe I’ll sell my 1959 Gretsch Anniversary instead and drop off the 6105 for servicing with you next time I visit my brother in Fort Collins 🤔😊
Well, I ended up selling the proof/proof because I bit the bullet and finally bought a 14060m! (And I’m going to have to continue to sell stuff, and sell stuff, and sell stuff until I recoup the funds spent!) I was in Fort Collins for the first half of July - what was up with that weather? If I’d wanted all that rain and humidity, I would’ve just stayed in NY! I did get to see Los Lobos at Washington’s, though, which was pretty cool! I’m sorry that I left town before X played there, but I did at least get to see my brother’s band play at the Lyric, which is a pretty cool spot. Anyhow, thanks for all of the great content and time you two spend making these videos, and maybe I’ll bump into you during my next visit!
Hi Spencer awesome video as usual. I’ve seen a lot of your videos on the Seiko watches you show on your channel. One watch I don’t think I’ve seen you do a video on is the Sumo . What are your thoughts on the Sumo? I have a second generation Sumo model # SBDC033. To me one of my favorite watches .
The 6105-811x is right up there with the other iconic divers. It's so close to perfect I almost agree with you for wanting a faitful recreation. Ultimately, I think Seiko should not release a 1 to 1 copy. Seiko has the ability to make an exceptional watch even when they cheap out. Unfortunately, they cheap out on the things that saves them pennies and ruins the end product when they could cheap out on things that actually saves them money and makes the watch no worse.
Must make a movie about your visit! Already have the title: "Wadodokei no Otoko!", 腕時計 男 (The Watcher...). You must be played by a Russian monk with a wooden samurai sword naturally :) Speaking Dutch of course.
I coudnt agree more! Why a billion dollar company couldnt find a way to place a crown in the exact 4oclck position is beyond me.. even my beat up cheaper seiko quartz is more goodloking than the one they do today, logo and design- wise! Imo.

Agree on all points, until seiko understands its fans, ill be happy with my old 7002 which brings more joy than any new offering from them ever will.

Skip the Tudor. They're a dime a dozen.
Keep the proof/proof! A Tudor is easily replaceable. A true proof/proof is a rare rare rare watch. They don't make 'em anymore!

Did the original Willard’s ever come with a bluish insert? Or always black?
The inserts with the slight blue cast were made by Seiko's Daini division. They're called "Daini Blue" inserts.

If Seiko did reissue this 6105 they would put an X or a Y on the Dial and ruin it. Totally agree please Seiko get it right.
