Thank you Pastor Ivor, after watching this video on this sabbath day 16/11/2019, I have learnt something new " Wormwood" Being an adventist for almost ten years now and brother Ivor it has been a lot of negatives happen to me inside the church not only from outside but from members also. Thank God I kept my cool and survived. I said God if I don't have the talent of public speaking, would you please use me in anyway you can and now I get to play my keyboard and singing at church and members love it they want me to do it more often, also play for the church at times even thou I am not a musician and only play by the ear. This is such an important and home-hitting message, one that needs to be preached more often. It’s interesting how neither Job nor Jesus took the wormwood that was offered them. In that way Job seems to be symbolic of the Saviour that would come and refuse to be bitter against us.

I will stay with the sda church, But I refuse to partake/drink of apostacy and wormwood. I shall stay with The Holy Spirit and pray for those who are apostate until they humble themselves of their apostacy and reconcile with God and admit their ego/pride error to me, but I will not allow them to stifle my glorifying God and giving testimonial witness of His word and works upon me. I will not entertain demonically possessed lay pastor and wife whom run the church. Satan will deceive even the elect. The pastor and his wife do not represent the church, they represent themselves. Know a tree by it's fruits. The sda church that I am a member of, is down to two members, because The Holy Spirit will not guide people to it to be tainted by an apostate lay pastor and his wife. I am not bitter, I am praying for both of them with pure intentions that they recognize the error of their ways and humble themselves to the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Seals of Revelation describe all the christian related events of the the Middle to late Roman Empire. The expansion, political turmoil economic turmoil, christian persecution, decline and then the fall leading to the trumpets. 10+ Million Christians died at the hands of the Roman Empire. It was a very significant biblical as well as historical time.
From the 1st to 4th trumpet, it discusses the final destruction of the Roman empire of the west. In the 5th and 6th Trumpet the rise of Islam and the caliphates and the eventual fall of Constantinople to the Turks. 50+ Million Bible Christians were killed by the Roman Catholic Church.
Starting with the 1st Vial which are the events of the French Revolution the Roman Catholic Church has been losing power to Atheism, Secularism, Deism etc which began in 1789. Vials 2 to 5 are the Napoleonic wars and resulting nationalism revolutionary wars. The 6th Vial is WW1 in the Middle East and recapture of Jerusalem by the west powers at Har Megedo in 1917.

I get you point but the book of revelations is about events in the end times
Revelation is the timeline between Christ's death to his second coming through multiple viewpoints. Then through the millennium and judgement. Up until about chapter 18 or so its very symbolic and you need Old Testament references to understand the symbols. You can also study the Book of Daniel for "End times" but Revelation is more like lessons to avoid failure for us.

In Revelation 8:11, Wormwood comes from the Greek word "aster", from where we get asteroid. In its usage in this verse it is literally an asteroid and not a star! There are no stars small enough to fall to earth that would not cause it to explode.
Secondly, all other users of this word does mean bitterness. Satan does not cause us to be bitter. God told the children of Israel that HE would give them bitterness as a result of their failure to repent of their sins and it was part of their judgement.
No offense to the pastor, but any references to wormwood are related to judgement of personal sin, not the actions of others. Poor exegesis on this one. As a side note, Chernobyl which is the city of Russia that is now uninhabitable due to a nuclear meltdown literally is is translated "wormwood ".

I do know it was a bitter plant in Hebrew. The planet theory to me is way off though. This is a nice allegory, but I'm sorry, Wormwood is a literal event as Rev. 8:2 says 7 angels and with each verse, a torrent of catastrophies hit the earth, affecting any and all left here on the earth. God is not the author of confusion, and this message is leading people away from the plain meaning of scripture, which is that, in the end times, a mountain-like object, burning with fire and resembling a falling star, will strike the fountains of the waters (aquifers) and make many people sick and die, among other catastrophic effects. He turns a prophetic astronomical event into a chastisement over peoples' personal bitterness toward things in religious life, completely avoiding the literal meaning of what the Apostle John reported in his vision, as if it weren't relevant.
