It's awesome that you have such a "big picture" business outlook and encourage other entrepreneurs to get into your business and offer advice and tips. So many business people treat every other business as strictly a rival and wouldn't help a little guy get started. I'm reminded of an anecdote shared by Jamie Fox about apologizing to Tom Cruise for maybe stealing a scene and Cruise purportedly responded that it was fine and he was happy to "let him eat" just as Paul Newman in turn had once "let him eat" as a rising star in Cocktail. There's plenty to go around so an established guy can allow a new guy to also feed himself and hopefully pay it forward. The more you grow the industry, the more your own business can potentially grow as well. Great work!
I'm not a huge guppy fan, as far as keeping them myself (my water is pretty soft, low tds) - but, I love seeing them - the red and black ones are gorgeous! ! Great to see King Lee, Twin Cities Guppies, doing so well - 30 day quarantine is awesome!!

I can see why an avid breeder would be reluctant to sell mutts. Part of the passion is maintaining and collecting breeds. Mutts are basically the antithesis of what a breeder strives to do.

Thank you for this.... I just got home from fish store to mainly get driftwood for my 20 gallon and the owner of the store was there. I don't know much about guppies as I've never kept them. I love my betta's, molly's, and ottocats. I can assume that guppies are much different than the molly's. Which means not to overwhelm the female fish by keeping one male to one female. I know the guppies will breed so I'm thinking on getting one male and three females. Here is the catch. The pet store...said when I asked why they only sell them in pairs: ONE male and ONE female when it states that the female can get overburdened. He told me that he can only buy them that way. It didn't seem right to me. So I'm going to do more research on this and I'm starting here and going through what you are suggesting as well. Do it right the first time and I'll be able to help my daughter to enjoy her species tank.

Thanks for sharing Cory, never seen guppies like that in the flesh so to speak. Maybe you could do a breeding fish for profit setup a la Dean, that tank with the UGF he had was fantastic. It'd be interesting to see your culling process.

Just wanna say love the vids Corey but like others have said I do miss a certain feeling your older videos seemed to have im always a big fan of deans fishroom tours an what he’s breeding at the time just feels like you don’t do much of your own fish keeping on camera anymore more interested in viewing others setups if we wanted to see what others are doing we would just watch there channels instead of yours but overall love what you do man just miss the more down to earth back home just you an us kinda videos ya know I know everyone’s is after total amount of views but this is just my opinion
I miss the old hour long tours, and unboxing videos, showing off his tanks at home etc. these new ones just end abruptly but again he goes by metrics and if they're not getting views than he's not making them
I really like the videos from aquarium co-op. I miss the unboxings, mostly because it helped me get ideas and start research on fish I would like to find. That being said, I know Corey loves guppies and I find myself becoming more enthusiastic about these simple fish, but I would love to know more. What makes a good guppy? How do you tell a small fry that needs to be culled? What do you want to look for in a show quality guppy? What is a good starter strain and what should a person be wary of? I know most of these items have been touched upon in bits and pieces in different videos, but it would be informative to get pictures together of things that make a great guppy and what to look out for. Maybe a look at the crazy new strains with the sword tails or the crown tail (they look insane). Personally, I like the round tails, but they seem to be harder to find where I live in Canada, but I can still ogle and enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos! Keep doing what you love. I just like it when you really geek out about something your passionate about because the passion is catching.
I thought the prices where crazy until i say it was for a pair. I want some now but guppies just wont breed for me. Ive tried guppies, platties, angels and the only fish ive been able to breed is white clouds.

Kind of crazy. I recently wandered into his brick and mortar shop, in the section of the mall I never really go to because there isn’t really much in that section and seeing the guppies and fish he has there has me wanting to keep guppies. I never even knew those strains and color variations existed. My Christmas gift to myself this year is a tank.

In my new town i live in there is only petco. Its a small college town. In our bigger tank we will be getting. We might be getting freshwater angel fish. The ones at petco doesnt have alot of color any suggestions?

tuxedo reds are definately what I would pick, that contrast of colors is really nice and against green plants I think those would look gorgeous.

Awesome fish. I have 2 strains already from Keng Lee. I would highly recommend his fish. I got them on August and already have a couple of generations

Dude they’re guppies. Ya ya gotta throw down a 50 to “buy in” but if you get into a good strain you can turn that into 150 in two months easy.

For a livebearer tank I'd use like 30lbs probably. Otherwise for standard tanks I use 1lb per 10 gallons.
