I always treat the ending with the same respect I afford to the opening because I know they put it there for a reason. I seriously cringe when my friend tells me, "It's just here cause they need to put some credits in" or "It's just filler"... Some of the most transcendent experiences I've felt in anime stem exactly from the endings, not from the content itself directly. The ending is able to realise a kind of catharsis that the main content never can, and that the opening is usually too superficial and gaudy to do.

Great video, anime ending songs are often overlooked and i myself am guilty of skipping them sometimes. My personal favorite ending songs are mushoku tensei's kaze to iku michi and konosuba's chiisai boukensha

a perfect example of this kinda thing is with bna where the ending theme is kinda somber but hopeful leaving u time to contemplate everything that went on, its sometimes heavy endings to its episodes and all that, and when the heaviest stuff goes down, even the ending changes a small bit leaving you more distraught than hopeful thinking "how the heck is this gonna work out now.." and even the way its used in the episodes as not an ending is wonderful.
also aaaa,, the clannad ending theme gets me teary eyed every time..

Ending really do carries a special place for me(more so then opening imo)
Certain anime also used ending as a means to get a glimpse into a character's thoughts/feelings
    For example:
Oracion[prayer] - Ai Kayano (no game no life) sang from perspective of Shiro
there's also a special ending for a that episode which is a nice touch
Kimi no Namae[your name] - Chiai Fujikawa (rising of the shield hero) sang from perspective of Raphtalia
there's also a second ED (Atashi ga Tonari ni Iru Uchi ni - Chiai Fujikawa)
Intepreting the meaning of lyrics is exercise left to the reader.
While it's nothing "ground breaking information" but it's certainly nice touch for these who bothered to go thru with translating and understanding it.
