@@GC-gb2jv Portnoy took up the mantle when the band needed someone most. Ilejay brought us Hail to the King; nothing fancy, but it's full of "generic" hits. But Wackerman felt to me like the Rev again.
as a drummer, its a perfect imo aswell, not too much, deff not too much little. No dobbel base kick all the time just simpcisity at its finest, but the ending, thats sick
Always been a huge A7X fan. This album dropped on my kids birthday and I had my earbuds in listening to this album through while helping my wife set up my son’s party. This song came on and I just had to sit down and close my eyes and listen to it. When it finished I remember the feeling of “this might be one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard”
Props for staying open even when you had a knee-jerk reaction from their other work. Seems like you value honesty over any personal narrative, I hate how rare that is nowadays
Definitely. A lot of haters shitting on this album, but at least they have the balls to create new music with different sound. Unlike that shit heap called Metallica, who had "One" good song.
A7X has always been incredibly talented. I know people love to shit on them, but when you break them down and really look into it they're insanely impressive. The Stage and LIBAD are phenomenal Prog works of art. City of Evil is and likely always will be my favorite but Brooks Whackerman was the best thing this band could've done since Jimmy's passing
I don't know for sure, but I've listened to them since their first album came out. With City of Evil, they alienated and destroyed a massive chunk of their original fans that helped get them where they got. After that, it seemed like they went to a more generic sound. Which I know alot of metal fans didn't even care for, especially since they completely switched from what they were. I think alot of people at that point thought they were just sellouts and not genuine. I only listened to a minute or two of the first couple songs from that album, and didn't listen again til the early 2010s. People I know that listened to Waking the Fallen at the time, still don't like them and alot has to do with them switching up after that.
I cant get into dudes vocals i just cant. When nobody came across the radio i almost immediately turned it off. I dont know if its the microphone or the production technique they used but i just cant get onboard with his vocal style however this particular song i can get into.
@@ptbempire I have done audio recording as a fun hobby for 20 years and the rasp in his voice I can't stand listening to. Alot of people including my wife like his voice but as a sound guy all I keep thinking about is how much mixing work I would have to do to get it to sound good in a mix.
I feel like they went with a more Alice in Chains style of approach to their song writing, where you have to listen multiple times to get the full experience. Not always a win, but they got some good stuff out of it. "G" is the worst track, hands down.

Phenomenal album. Not everyone’s cup-a-tea but as a long time fan of avenged loved it!
3:30 CUZ YOU FEEL THE FEELS!! 😜
A7X goes prog since The Stage bro, but yeah, this song is a masterpiece

@@one_big_meaniereally? You don’t like other Metallica songs
@Leo-wp3rj yeah that's the wildest take ive heard. Most of In Justice is actually better than One besides Dyers Eve.
Best band on earth. their last 2 album are masterpieces. I prefer the stage but Life is but a dream is insane
Bro just turned out to be the opposite of an old school A7X hardcore fan
The Stage album also had a lot of proggy elements, i would recommend checking it out too
This is their closer song on their tour. Saw them in March. This song takes you to a whole different fucking planet. Incredible fucking album this is…
This was absolutely incredible live
This is unintentionally hilarious.
This album is their Dark Side of the Moon
I gotta hear this whole thing, you can request albums on my linktree
So is The Stage their The Wall?
It's an amazing amazing amazing song. 2nd best to save me off the nightmare album

@@VabianTorinno I will open up album requests next year
thanks for reacting cosmic, chester
I respect the honesty 👍
Underrated album! Please check out new British band Unpeople - moon baboon or the garden would be ideal starters
finally, Poss likes Avenged Sevenfold song 😂
I don’t get the hate against a7x. Is it because they’re mainstream? Metallica is mainstream but everyone loves them.

Nah, G is cool as fuck. Got that Zappa vibe.
Avenged suffers from dream theater syndrome, musicians are talented as hell and the instrumentals are great but the vocals are an acquired taste
