- On 16th May 2018, Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi, or B.V. Doshi received the Pritzker Prize. At the age of 90, it served more like a life time award for him. The first Indian to ever receive a Pritzker prize. In a career spanning about seven decades, Doshi has completed more than 100 projects. The life of this man is as inspiring as his built works. It is a journey that involves India’s independence, an unpaid job in Paris & the establishment of one of the most prestigious architecture schools in India. Today on Blessedarch we are looking at the life of B.V. Doshi.

This particular one connected me back to architecture and I was just not just watching it ... I WAS FEELING IT...Thanks alot for this!
❤️
I worked with his daughters company and visited his Ahmedabad office.
Love u bro ❤️ thanks so much for this. Would really appreciate if you made content like this more frequently
Will surely be making more such content
The best words in this video:"Building is an growing organism "😍. Really deep meaning of this golden words and specially that's inspiring us.
I feel at the age of 90 Pritzker was more of a tribute than an award to this legend. Such a legendary and inspiring journey, he is truly an icon of Independent and modern Indian architecture. You presented it so beautifully Rishabh, great job. ❤️
damn the video was no less then a therapy session
Great video! I love doshi's architectural work, it has such a strong signature, and manages to straddle both modern aesthetics, while at the same time embodying so much Indian character. Truly beautiful, and an example to all architects who want to rediscover their non-western architectural heritage.
Such quality content! Excited to see more of this in the future ❤
More of these coming soon 😃
He will always live through his remarkable architecture that we all are so proud to have in our country. R.I.P BV Doshi
This is the best video on BV Doshi so far😍.... Enjoyed every minute of it 💯💯💯
I am glad you did 😃
Sir I love the way you present this documentary of bv dhoshi,
it is really inspiring.
Please create these kind of content for the architecture motivation 😅.
I am so glad, will have more of these in the future
I did a thesis on CEpt University, a dialogue between the grandfather and grandson
I wanted to show to Doshi! I would love to share my thesis, you may like
Hi stavan, I also would love to see your thesis if you don't mind
This is brilliant man!! Loved the content and all the things you presented 🌻This transformation is inspiring.
PS: I started watching your videos to get into architecture 4 years ago. Did not pursue architecture, but always a fan of architecture and content like yours!! Keep going 🤩
Thank you so much
I find his work very grounded and rooted as mentioned in the video multiple times it's nit flashy and fancy at all. Absolutely love his work tbh
Can u also make a video on Laurie Baker!!!
I felicitated him in Sangath after he won Padma Bhushan 2020, also did an architectural research on his approach of frugal designs with the name, 'THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE GRANDFATHER AND THE GRANDSON..' He is so humble as equivalent to his design styles. Architecture styles also speaks the personality of the designer.. (Psychology)
Hey, your video made me emotional man, i don't why but a good video on architecture makes me emotional , thanks for making this, it just made my day,
Loved it ❤
Can i say i find his work ugly..i mean its probably very functional but devoid of beauty.
Mr.Manirathnam is a genius to bring him into the movie OK Kanmani….there is a dialogue where hero questions heroine what is that so special about this person …and here is the answer …
Sir, aap Hinglish m nhi padha skte kya.. ?
Hinglish zyada effective hota...
Please make video role of contemporary technology in contemporary Architecture.....
we believe in BV Doshi's supremacy
Om shanti.
Got the news of his death today morning
May his soul be at peace wherever it is
One of the best architecture informative vedio i have ever seen...at the end i was just lost !!
Thank you so much
Ur voice quality is so soothing...and the modulation is mind blowing Man!!
Thank you ❤️
Is saying "Achmed" so hard? ^^ Great video as always ;)
A little bit of criticism, his political leanings, his ideological point of views can provide a balanced view about the person.
and what was that ?

Not just UNIQUE Indian Architecture , we Indians desperately NEED our UNIQUE art / design.
Excellent visual language in editing....but the ship photo flipping and Steve Carrell cameo destroyed it ...
I came to know Mr. Doshi fairly well when I worked with him at the School of Planning / CEPT and at Vastushilpa over 40 years ago. I greatly cherish my association with him. Thank you for sharing the video. It brought back wonderful memories of my time in those spaces and with him.
Wonderful video. My personal favourite is Sangath. Something really magical about that space. He received royal gold medal for architecture yesterday.
Please provide English subtitles.

Amazing video

Great job
Thank you
sorry if this hurts anyone. I am someone who doesn't know who he is so don't have any predisposition towards his works. The building designs honestly don't seem that impressive.
That are not to impress you!!
@@manveerhere4u not just me, saying they are not impressive in general. very robotic designs in my opinion. No need to get hurt.
Bro for pritzker prize they not only consider the design style. But also ones contribution towards society too. Usually ppl get it after some notable contribution for society, nature and all. Like ecofriendly infrastructures, wrks which helps the poor, which helps a big section of people and stuffs like that.
@@tpk.officiale thank you for explaining that bro 👍🥹
Visit any of his buildings like CEPT or IIM b'lore or any other building, then you will understand. One becomes part of the spaces. They are so fluid. And the use of natural light is something to experience.
