Loved this podcast.Great questions to learn more about this unique artist's thoughts.
Very interesting interview. Fun to hear this discussion and her choices product wise. Stepping back continually is what we all arrive at in many different mediums. I'm bumping people behind me once in a while..... Clio has outstanding ability and very enjoyable art work. Honest laugh and personality most apparent and enjoyable. Good choice interviewing her!
humble and confident full of good advise and wonderfully open questions....thanks....
Thanks and welcome
Congratulations to Jeff Hein for just a lovely podcast. A great balance between technical questions and the intricacies of what it means to be an artist. And ii all these great qualities of the show were not enough, the work of the first class guest certainly is the final jewel in the crown. With all the garbage that is shown on television, it is so rejuvenating to hear conversations like this one. Jeff, I salute you
That’s really nice of you. Thank you!
Love this podcast! Enjoyable, interesting and inspirational! Thank you for a wonderful podcast!
You are so welcome!
Wow !! Fantastic! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
Incredible work!
I was reminded of the saying "ars est celare artem", which means to conceal the work one puts into the work of art, sort of like a ballerina delivering the emotion of her character on her face, and none of the effort it takes to make twenty fouettes in a row.
hello amazing podcast! subscribed to your channel! love this work. is it done through zoom recording and just edited? we are also planning to start our own and we really like what you did here.
Not exactly. there are other recording softwares involved. Thanks for listening.
Another brilliant conversation with two great people!
Thank you very much!
That’s so funny. I grew up in the Midwest. I think we’re the friendliest people.
we moved out west in Nevada and they’re OK. I think I’m just more liberal than most everybody here in the state, but I found the people from the East Coast very reserved. I think the folks in the south are the nicest and most outgoing I have friends from, each of those areas of the United States so my vote goes for the southern bells!
People are interesting.
I would call Clio’s work tonal realist, rather than ‘hyper’ or ‘photo’ real. Not entirely my cup of tea but I can appreciate the technical virtuosity. I mean who wouldn’t kill to be able to draw with such profound accuracy and sensitivity?
Loved this podcast! Did you ever figure out the legion paper she uses?
Unfortunately not
Sometimes I think Jeff is the only normal person on his podcast. All the guests are like superhuman artist people who live lives from literature. lol!
I’m not sure if I should be insulted by being called “normal”
@@theundrapedartist lol, I guess you’re a little abnormal.
Oh good ;)
first
nice interview!
Good work !
It's a pity but there would have been so many technical questions about charcoal, and how she use it... You started this question, but apart from stepping back often, nothing is said ! lol !!... And what kind of paper, the weight, etc etc... !!!!!
(Despite her explanations, i'm not entirely convinced that she doesn't use a projector.)
Charcoal is such a simple (not easy) medium that there’s not much to talk about concerning technique that can’t be seen by observing the work. I believe her about the projector.
She studied at florence academy, Lyme etc, she said they did 8 hours of figure drawing every day for multiple years. Why would you doubt her ability to be a master figurative artist?
