What I like the most about his playing is that he is so humbly letting himself be with the music rather than exagarating or showing off. Nothing gets too personal. It is universal from beginning to end, every second. To be such a great talent and so modest at the same time must require another talent, which I can not even name.

I believe Henri Cartier-Bresson said that once, artists were servants. Although mastery of one’s craft is an achievement, music is to serve people. Matisse said he hoped his paintings would be like a good armchair to the soul who looks at it. The greatest artists don’t forget this.

I'd say what makes a perfect pianist isn't one that does what they think is the 'perfect performance', but one that hears and understands everything they do wrong and know how to make it right.
I am pretty proud that I am at least able to hear what I'm doing wrong when I play. The only problem is I don't know how to fix it :/
