@Cap... at 15:35 when you said "Right now we got the good landers coming down..." And almost immediatly the Mustang on final has a wing dip and crashes....... Anyone else think Cap Jinxed that pilot on this one???
To be fair, whenever CAP says anything, it usually goes the opposite way immediately after lolol. AT least from the videos I've watched. Edit: no offense Cap, I'd be trying my damnedest not to let you down.
"The clocks move backwards?" Classic GR chicanery! Both Riddle and Sherman did very well to stave off dead, reverse several times, and got good teamwork help from the rest of GR. I thought for a second I would see a Thatch Weave, got close but either way, that was something else. Great job guys!
I’m a broken record on taildraggers, but people are crashing on takeoff because they’re pulling back on the stick when they’ve already got three wheels on the ground. Imagine you aren’t on the runway, imagine your at 100 feet in the air, slow flying with high alpha, what is the last thing you would ever do???? Increase the angle of attack. That Makes You Dead.
animalmother556x45 By the end of the war there were so few real pilots like Akamatsu, Sakai, Muto, or Kuroiwa...Japanese engineers had built a few planes that could stand up to the Mustangs and the B-29s they never stood a chance. When 75% of your professional pilot corps goes down with their ships, they aren’t easily replaced.
Akamatsu would drink himself out of his mind everyday during the war. He lived offbase in geisha houses of ill repute next to the airfield. When he heard the alarm of bombers coming, he would jump drunk (much to his commanding officers disapproval) into inferior fighters like the zero or J2M Raiden and flew right into swarms of Mustangs, P-38 Lightnings or Hellcats, yet he always came back with Kills. That’s the difference 8,000 hours makes vs 80 hours.
@ 22:18 cap says get high ... so all im sayn is im following caps orders lol.. great vid agian guys keep it up.. ive replaced regular TV with reapers and F18 vids lol.
Damn good music for the dogfight hahaha. I suggest the “Tie Fighter Attack” music from SW A New Hope! When they hop on the turrets in the Millennium Falcon xD
That blue Mustang was doing some outstanding defensive flying, but I believe that he would have done better if he had jettisoned his 6 rockets. Just a thought...
Kent Williams a great scissors maneuver he had going on .. whether he knew he was doing one or not might be another thing .. lol .. but was nicely executed none the less
Hey guys. Damn Beautiful formation. Roy Shields is correct. Fly the tail off first and then continue to accelerate until the wings start flying and the airplane will lift off the ground. Raise the nose 2 degrees and then raise the gear. Continue accelerating and raise the flaps one detent at a time. The Mustang has been my favorite airplane for many years and I have many books that have been written about it including a copy of the original pilot operating handbook. In any high performance piston powered aircraft, the power out put is going to be measured in Manifold pressure and is measured in inches of mercury. The rpm gauge measures the speed of the prop. Again I love the vids and watching you guys fly. Keep up the good work.
Nice video again. So much fun to watch you guys. But it's not the Spitfire fault, that she doesn't perform at higher altitudes. It's because it is the LF-version of the MkIX we have in the sim, which stand for Low Fighter, or something similar. They changed the supercharger for better performance at low altitudes and sacrificed the high altitude performance of the Merlin. The Spitfire pretty much outperformed any german fighter of that time above about 20000ft. In fact the highest air engagement of the war was flown by MkIX Spitfires at 43000ft against a Ju86R.
Yeah. The LF-Spit with the Merlin 66 is really performant from 15k to 20k ft thanks to the charger which switches to high mode in that range The HF uses the Merlin 70 and is much faster at higher altitudes of 24.000+ feet due to the second stage kicking in later. It was used to shoot down german spy planes mainly.
landing and taking off in taildraggers are different . No flair when landing. and minor stick back once the tail wheel is off the ground when taking off.
Damn those runway lights are sturdy. Took out that Mustang on first landing. I mean it was already wrecked, but the light totally upended it. To limit landing bounce would it be a good idea to raise flaps after the flare?
How do you get that view from the Ground looking up at the planes, seemingly whenever you want ? That is a view I have never seen without selecting a Ground Vehicle that just happens to be along the flight path.
Good Fight Blues, too bad the convoy was faster than us, so we ended up escorting nothing, and running into a whole bunch of Blues ready for us... Really tense combat though, thoroughly enjoyed myself (and no you werent gonna hit me Cap! stop deluding yourself! =P)
Cap, shot idea, at about 20:00 minutes you go silent for a shot that pulls around the flight as its lined up against the runway, and the sound of a single engine starts just before you cut to a different shot and begin voice narration again. Instead, if you kept that earlier shot going as each pilot turned his/her engine on every n seconds and then as you get around 2/3rds the way through, play the classical music track as the rest of the planes start their engines (and begin moving into their positions), it might be an interesting cinematic effect. Think clockwork orange. =]
As far as clock wise and anti clock wise goes....... he's British and drives on the wrong side of the road anyway! .....it's a British irregularity ! .....LOL@Sherman
Clearly he thinks he sounds wicked cool and original incessantly shouting the same tired cliche repeatedly, but the truth is "Get some!!" guy sounds like a living version of a comb over . . . .
@Cap... at 15:35 when you said "Right now we got the good landers coming down..." And almost immediatly the Mustang on final has a wing dip and crashes....... Anyone else think Cap Jinxed that pilot on this one???
this is very possible. Every time we have more than 2 weeks off from warbirds we get all these crashes on our first landing again. Annoying.
To be fair, whenever CAP says anything, it usually goes the opposite way immediately after lolol. AT least from the videos I've watched.
Edit: no offense Cap, I'd be trying my damnedest not to let you down.
The dog fights with the old planes are so much more intense to watch. those red pilots were good
I always think I am a noob pilot until I see some of the takeoffs in these videos!
Hahahaaa!
Thanks for the 1812 overture at the end.
12:09
"Are you on the runway, Cap?"
"Yes I a- ...Not anymore."
lol
I love the old school original IL2 sturmovik theme song
Watching everyone come in it was like Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines.
That was like a film !
"The clocks move backwards?" Classic GR chicanery! Both Riddle and Sherman did very well to stave off dead, reverse several times, and got good teamwork help from the rest of GR. I thought for a second I would see a Thatch Weave, got close but either way, that was something else. Great job guys!
Let’s dance friend!
I enjoyed the video sooooo much !!! Got my hotas warthog last week and now I'm learning to fly the P-51D :) nice video or should I say nice movie !

Increase the angle of attack. That Makes You Dead.
My flight instructor always screamed at me when I got wobbly, “Rudder Rudder Rudder, Happy Feet!”
P.s. good landing with the tail up at 17:00
You just have to keep telling us, we'll get it by 2020
Rory Shields Yes....you gotta get the tail flying before YOU start flying.

12:23 and comes to a gentle stop

LOL felt that "oh for f"£$% sake guys " soo much
Loved the dog fight at the end :)
Highly enjoyable, the Star Wars-music made it beyond epic. Moar of these ww2 convoys pls :)
Damn good music for the dogfight hahaha. I suggest the “Tie Fighter Attack” music from SW A New Hope! When they hop on the turrets in the Millennium Falcon xD

Absolutely loved this video. Love WW2 planes.
Howard Hughes would have been proud. Damn fine aerotography. (Yes, I just invented a word.)
I like this word

oh a video NOT related to the F18-hype *thumbsup*
don't get comfortable, we've got plenty of Hornet hype wave to come I am afraid :( #FreeMarketCapitalismCanBeAnnoyingAtTmies

Why those rockets on the blue Mustang air to air work? I enjoy watching these videos. Great stuff!
Lol "we're ready to go bomb pearl harbor!"
Nice one! Sherman stop micromanaging! 😂
He does that...
Crosscountry, enemy zero, casualties - half of wing XD... I don't even wanna try to fly that lol
15:37 That's what she said...
How do you get that view from the Ground looking up at the planes, seemingly whenever you want ?

On the way to school.

Excellent video. I think the Kylo Ren music works well for dogfights.
thx
The f22 was also in the heritage flight
Calling break without a plan breaks planes! 🛩💥☹️
Here an advice if your gonna do p51 just do p51,dont mix them
I hope the classics were rentals.

Them 109 pilots were awesome. Was that AI?

AI is not that dynamic in this game, daww thanks! not sure if i should be flattered or insulted by that lol
they are pain in the arse humans
WHAT!.....NO P-38'S or MOSQUITO'S?
Not yet...
Where is Sherman theses days? I haven’t seen him in recent G.R. videos.
Would anyone mind telling me what track plays during the actual dogfight. Wasn't linked in the description.
Hi can you tell me how you zoom into your instrument panel I'm having trouble seeing to change over to rockets. Cheers
No worries sorted it Alt c gets rid of mouse curser then use mouse to look around cockpit and zoom in using mouse wheel Happy Days

I likey.
Best men...
I would not be able to do the formation turns. Someone says turns left and i end up turning the opposite way and death ensues
Just a random question, when was the video on warbird tactics you said about going to happen cap?
Hi Burpie, I have it on my list but no one will do it with me... if you want to do it with me then send me a msg in Discord and we'll do it together.
id love to do the video with you, but im not old enough to be in the gr server, im in sluggers but its an issue which is kinda out of my control
can someone help me with this please? So I have smoke rockets on my aircraft, but I don't know how to fire them. How do I fire smoke rockets?
In germany it is illegal to show the swatstika.
Sweet! Force the neo-nazis underground. What could do wrong!?
Haha that take off was horrible. And damn that purple livery is discusting xD
Awesome mission and vid otherwise
I'm a Canadian btw... lol. no don't know if that matters but it sounds like all you lads are Brits
Change attitude with stick altitude with throttle
As far as clock wise and anti clock wise goes....... he's British and drives on the wrong side of the road anyway! .....it's a British irregularity ! .....LOL@Sherman
Do more ultra-modern planes
they are coming up soon so just getting the slow ones done first
