    I just built an entire closet with the old system alone - 4 units plus the corner attachment. The hardest part was attaching the back alone . I wish I waited and got this new system where the back problem is solved.

    I'll have to move with a lot of the old PAX and I know it'll be a horror especially because of the nails in the back panel. This new design looks amazing, can't wait to see it in person! Thank you very much for sharing!

    You did well to film all that, it will make a great online manual for people to follow 🎥
    You took one for the team, taking that all apart and re-building it 🔨 Shame about that broken piece
    People shouldn’t be put off by the older version, I think they are pretty easy to put together, as long as you have the space to build them and the strength to lift them, they aren’t difficult
    It’s not been the warmest of June’s 🥶

    Great video and very helpful. I assembled my Pax 2.0 wardrobes today. I ordered a run of 50+100+50cm carcasses, 236cm tall with Reinsvoll doors. Worth mentioning the 50cm wide units now also fold in the centre like the 100cm do. The hardest part was unfolding them whilst vertical, but once the back rail was in place assembly was a breeze. The design of these is really well thought through, and the tall units feel quite sturdy. Really pleased how it turned out.

    • @kirstygriffiths749
      @kirstygriffiths749  12 дней назад

      Thanks for the feedback on the new Pax . I think the multiple folds are the 75 & 100 in the shorter depth.

      @craigball Did you find any video or other detailed guidance on how to install the back rail at the proper height/angle for your floor? This video and similar videos on RUclips frustratingly all seem to omit the mounting step and only show how to put together the new frame together freestanding, which is not the difficult part.

    • @craigball480
      @craigball480 8 дней назад

      @@ciel6347 I only found this one and one more which show assembly. Not sure what you mean by back rail. The only back rail is one at the base that slides into the black clips in the corner. The only attachment to the wall is through two holes located in the top corners, and you drill into the wall. If you intend to put a timber batten on the wall to screw into, then you will have a gap behind your wardrobe.

      @@craigball480 Sorry, I thought because your comment coincided with approximately 1 week after new pax frames appeared on the USA ikea website that you had purchased your frame in the USA. It appears that only the USA has a wall-mounting new pax frame.

      @kirstygriffiths749 In the USA the units are mounted on a metal rail across the back. The back panel has a square section cut out of the top corners that you later cover with plastic pieces. I wonder if it has something to do with each country's safety requirements for securing furniture to the wall.

    Looks like a "hack" will be required if you are hoping to fit the old style sliding door rails onto these as they don't have the holes pre-drilled in the top panel for the two plastic top clips to fit through ... (part number 124341) that help support the top rail

    • @kirstygriffiths749

      @@kirstygriffiths749 that's the ones for the bottom rail of the new doors design (the old version required 4 screws in the bottom rail, but you had to make your own holes). I'm talking about the rail at the top of the unit :-)

    The smaller holes at the front of the bottom are similar to the first PAX. They are used with sliding doors for the aluminium rails screws. This is shown in the instructions for sliding doors, which I just did a few weeks ago.

    Do you know if the new drawers are fully extendable? I have the 13 inch ones and they don’t even open halfway. Some videos I have seen on the pax komplement drawers are that some fully open and some don’t. I don’t understand why this is. Any insight would be helpful. The current drawers are basically useless and if I had know I wouldn’t have purchased.

    A very similar new pax frame appears to be available on Ikea's USA website but it appears to come with a wall-mounting rail. Did yours come with a rail? The rail part number in the new manuals is 10116976, 10116987, or 10117011 depending on the width of the frame. It is unclear to me if the rail is an optional anchoring mechanism for tipping prevention or is a significant structural part for the back board. If the former, I am confused why the frame can't anchor directly into the behind wall like the older pax frame designs. I am having a hard time finding a video that shows how to install the rail, which i think adds significantly increased difficulty to the installation process for a novice DIYer.

      @@kirstygriffiths749 Recent reddit posts from others suggest that a different version of the new pax frame was released in the USA, which explains why none of the existing youtube videos for pax 2.0 are helpful to my purchasing and diy or hire carpenter decisions. Thanks for your reply.

      The beige / grey is in stock in the standard depth. I’m told the rest will start arriving in the UK from July. You can tell by the back catches on the image, if it has the two high up middle pieces it’s the new pax. No idea why IKEA are keeping it so secret.
