Tennis World Tour is on sale on PSN right now. It's been forever since I played a Tennis game so I was curious and decided to look up reviews before I committed the purchase. I'm glad I did cuz AO definitely looks like the much better choice, so thanks for sparing me the unreturnable purchase. I'll look for AO International online. I bought the Tennis World tour Roland Garros Edition PC version last weekend because of the announcement ot the Mutua Madrid Virtual Pro Tournament and also because it was on special on the platform Steam, I'm very happy with the game. Good review. AO has gotten tons of patches but people make it sound like that's a bad thing. The game is improving constantly. TWT has barely received support and the customization is laughable. Worse then TS4. I would criticise AO for the unbalanced difficulties and the too long loading times. But AO is the way to go for a tennis game

I tried the TWT yesterday and was appalled at how it ran on my computer and how it is actually a bad and unfinished game. I feel sad for the developers. I’ve never tried them so you need to do research, graphics don’t look amazing on them but I heard the gameplay should be good. Maybe I’ll try them as well in the next weeks.
It's taken 34 updates to get AO Tennis where it is now. Also, I could actually play it at the start, but all the updates made things harder and now I hit more out of court and have more unforced errors, as the difficulty level lifted even on the same difficulty setting.
Nice video. I’ve been waiting for someone to do a video like this. The spilt screen with both games was a sweet touch and much needed for people with questions. TWT eventually just frustrated me to the point I stop playing a few weeks ago. Getting to the point of trading it in. They just haven’t cleared up reaching and scrambling for the ball. Makes no sense. Also power vs stamina meter with my opponent compared to my character.? Seriously unbalanced? AO has some balance issues too. It shows up when you chose game difficulty. Can’t keep the ball in anymore? But my much lower level AI opponent is painting the lines all match long? 😡

Great video and I couldn’t agree more with everything you said! My initial desire to get TWT was primarily because it was said to come from the developers of top spin. Also, the career mode is intriguing and having more licensed players is always a plus. That said, I researched a lot on this before TWT released and in doing so, agreed that AO was the better option. It wasn’t available in physical form in the US, so I ordered it on discount from the U.K. I mean, the license issues are always a minus to me, and I wish there was a bit more to do in the career mode like TWT, but to me, AO Tennis is head and shoulders above TWT as an overall package. I couldn’t be happier with my decision at this point.

Hi Ravish, I can only talk about my experience with TWT on PS4. This is important because there might also be differences between consuls. The online function of TWT is very primitive. You are just assigned an opponent. There is no lobby to create an online game or choose to play with a friend. I must also add that there are some guys that are happily playing TWT. if you do a simple search you will find them. They are a little less skilled (no offence) and therefore have not beaten the game yet. If i wouldn't win each game with 6-0, I might keep playing it too. I suggest waiting for updates that make the game more challenging and fixes the online function. I would take Gaetano's advice and wait for a lower price and/or updates.

What I hate of TWT is that the gameplay is pretty much automated. In Top Spin 4 you could play it with the UI turned off because hitting the ball worked like in real life, just by looking at the bounce of the ball you knew when to release the button to hit it right but in TWT you have to keep looking at the stupid circle so it won't go red, at the end of the day it just feels automated because you can't actually follow the ball as a cue to hit great shots.
Tennis Elbow 2013 is the best tennis game in my opinion, but unfortunately it is only on PC. Tennis Ace Simulator also looks promising. Top Spin 4 was great but lacking in gameplay depth and in it's representation of real players (very little effort in animation department and the stats are questionable). TE2013 has a strong modding community that has contributed very accurate swing animations for many players, from Dolgopolov to Nalbandian. It's harder than mainstream tennis games but also more fun once you get the hang of it.

What I noticed as one big difference is the NET ( nets ) ! In Tennis World Tour there is no chance for a magic side shots ! AO Tennis is much better , + hawk eye , just need a graphical improvement !
I guess the main problem on these cateogries of games, is the fact that they don't invest too much money on it, as they would do on FIFA games or perhaps GTA etc...I must say though AO offers a more realistic experience compared to TWT. I really hope they will improve more both of them. Customers feedback's and expectation really counts.

Questions for AO Tennis: - How many created / downloaded player slots are there for you to download to? - Can you import these downloaded players and replace them in your career mode. EG: So you can have Federer, Djokovic in your career mode and rankings.
Just started a new career to test it and downloaded players before and yes they were in the rankings, so I guess you will play against them at some point!

What if you generally play with a friend? Would either of these be worth picking up if you don't play against the AI or online? Also, do the different surfaces actually play different in either game or are they just there for aesthetic value?
Ravish Singh AO is 100 times better playing with a friend. Better than playing against CPU. TWT is awful PERIOD. TWT has no court differential. AO has sliding on clay and slight footwork differences on grass. Unfortunately neither game has the ball affected by the courts.

twt was literally released 20% finished ao is at least being constantly patched would still play top spin 4 or smash court tennis 2 over both of them at this point though

I'd say TS4 is still better than AO as well, but Gameplay of AO is closer to TS4 than TWT. If the career mode would be more entertaining in AO I'd also recommend it for full price.
In the future if there is a AO 2 I hope they add more courts around from other tournaments, because in my opinion the number of courts are very short and players might not buy the game because of that.

Tennis elbow 2013 the best tennis game ever. ignore the player graphics. if you the 2016 patch for pc you can get the entire tour players from any era and play the full tour from futures tour to atp main tour with every stadium and tournament. the best player and ball mechanics by a mile compared to any other game and every player has there own unique style. i havent got bored of playing this game once in 2 years and the developer is bringing his next version of the game to console in 2020!
I know people crap on both of these and I know ao 2 has come out now, but I still think ao international tennis is a solid tennis game with actual fun gameplay, maybe I’m crazy.

Hey bro, I'm from Australia and only just started following the tennis. I'm quite familiar with the other sporting games such as 2k and FIFA that release new games every year. I really enjoy the gameplay of AO tennis and want to buy however how often do they release new games ?
Even with AO’s few faults it is far and away a much better tennis game/simulator than TWT, by a long shot. And they are constantly working on it and updating regularly, as opposed to TWT which it was actually said by the devs that the game was far from complete when they released it, and that certainly shows!

As far as I know there is no limit, so you can download as many as you want.

Just started a new career to test it and downloaded players before and yes they were in the rankings, so I guess you will play against them at some point!

great review!!! Question: here in the US it seems that AO is sold as import and on Amazon there is a note stating "UK IMPORT VERSION , REGION FREE WORKS IN USA , DLC CONTENT REQUIRES UK PSN ACCOUNT". Is this true? Will I have to open a UK PSN account to download players from the community?
What if you generally play with a friend? Would either of these be worth picking up if you don't play against the AI or online?
Also, do the different surfaces actually play different in either game or are they just there for aesthetic value?
Ravish Singh AO is 100 times better playing with a friend. Better than playing against CPU. TWT is awful PERIOD. TWT has no court differential. AO has sliding on clay and slight footwork differences on grass. Unfortunately neither game has the ball affected by the courts.
THE BATMAN thanks for the reply. Sucks that the courts don't actually make a difference.. Guess I'll continue to wait till either a solid update or the next version of either game comes out, correcting a lot of these issues.

I'll think about it but basically, my other video ruclips.net/video/5wDYg6lmj98/видео.html TWT vs TS4 covers pretty much everything of TS4, so if you watch both you should get all the information. I'd say TS4 is still better than AO as well, but Gameplay of AO is closer to TS4 than TWT. If the career mode would be more entertaining in AO I'd also recommend it for full price.

In the future if there is a AO 2 I hope they add more courts around from other tournaments, because in my opinion the number of courts are very short and players might not buy the game because of that.

Tennis elbow 2013 the best tennis game ever. ignore the player graphics. if you the 2016 patch for pc you can get the entire tour players from any era and play the full tour from futures tour to atp main tour with every stadium and tournament. the best player and ball mechanics by a mile compared to any other game and every player has there own unique style. i havent got bored of playing this game once in 2 years and the developer is bringing his next version of the game to console in 2020!
AO has been patched like crazy and is a decent game these days.

Hey bro, I'm from Australia and only just started following the tennis. I'm quite familiar with the other sporting games such as 2k and FIFA that release new games every year. I really enjoy the gameplay of AO tennis and want to buy however how often do they release new games ?
+Liamlxc - hey, it’s their First Tennis Game so far, there are rumors that AO 2 is coming out at some point but nothing confirmed yet.
Even with AO’s few faults it is far and away a much better tennis game/simulator than TWT, by a long shot. And they are constantly working on it and updating regularly, as opposed to TWT which it was actually said by the devs that the game was far from complete when they released it, and that certainly shows!
