Loving seeing the behind the scenes!!!
Thank you for posting this! Personally Im starting this crazy adventure too and your journey eases my nerves a little. lol
Haha glad you enjoyed! It’s a very fun time and highly stressful, but it’s very rewarding as well once it gets going. Reach out if you ever have questions!
Love hearing how others got started. Mine dates me as I used to go to hockey games in town and met the guy who worked the pass gate. Well as luck would have it he had extra tickets to Elvis Presley in 1976, I sold the 4 and we split the money and it was full go from there. So many guys start on the street moving from flipping tickets to games and shows to in my case providing me enough to put
my son through grad school and my daughter through college and giving me the chance to retire early from my day job. Like others my age we are kicking stub hub and mobile ticketing days of today but we do what we have to survive. So many characters that I have met over the years. Been to the masters, World Series , final 4, countless huge concerts, and plenty of Maple leaf games. ...great video.
That’s an amazing story! I love hearing how people have gotten started because it’s such a unique experience but eye opening every time. Sounds like you’ve had quite the good run with selling tickets over the years and met a great group of people along the way! Can’t even begin to imagine having to really work the streets trying to find buyers day in and out. I’ve done a bit of it for hockey games but it’s a tough world out there. It’s all about the experiences though and sounds like you’ve had a great amount of them 😄
Love the origin story!!! Especially because I was part of it :)
So much history!
@@thumbsuprun and back when you had so much more hair ;)
Finally, the origin story we've all waited for!
🕸🕷🦸🏽♂️
I am a ticket broker since 2009 full time . I do almost 100% concert.. my story was similar , but with a Rush concert i want it to go. Ending selling 50 tickets with profit and was able to seat near stage for free and extra money for beer and hôtel. Next week i max all my credit cards buying tickets. Took me 2 years to quit my job and go full time.
Very impressive!! Love to hear these kind of stories
@@thumbsuprun By the way. Your have a good personality for podcast or a youtube channel talking about sports.

Great videos you have any tips on being able to get season tickets to team when you don’t live in the area some teams I’ve called said you have to live in that state?
Many do require being within a certain region, though not all of them have this requirement. Calling them is a great first step. If that doesn’t work though, can look into setting up billing addresses in different states where teams are located. PSLs are generally another way to get access to tickets in cities across the country
Hey, I love hearing about your story. I am interested in getting started with ticketing flipping. Is this still viable in 2022 given the epidemic conditions and what is the best way to research high-yielding events? Thank you in advance!
Glad to hear it! Definitely still possible in 2022, though payment on delivery can be difficult when starting out. Finding high yield events requires a lot of patience waiting for the right event to come along, but of luck, and being able to identify a seat section and price that appears undervalued. Gaining access to presales helps tremendously as well!
The tough part is that the teams that have a high yield will have a season ticket waitlist in place already. Season ticket holders aren’t going to give up their seats when they can sell them for a profit. The Packers have a 30+ year waitlist for tickets. Meanwhile, you can buy into struggling teams for cheap and pray they turn it around quickly. One thing that helps is picking a local team that you already like and enjoy going to the games anyways. If it’s a down year then go to the games and have fun.
That’s so true! I’ve held tickets to some bad teams for many years while they sucked. It’s rough going to some of those games though 😭😆 it can pay off in the end if you can make it to the other side though!
Have any recommendations on POS systems for someone starting out? I'm trying to automate the ticket sales for a few teams' season tickets I have. Only Skybox has gotten back to me, but I can't figure out how to automate the ticket transferring aspect.
Are you working with skybox now? They have a ticket downloader software attached to skybox that can potentially work to automate ticket transfers, but it’s very clunky I find. Could use something like 1ticket to automate your transfers, just there’s a fee for the service. A few other alternatives are out there but they all do the same thing
What’s POS
That’s an awesome story I hope I can sell my Chiefs tickets this season and make a little bit
Good luck! Should be a fun time selling them 😁
I am getting into the ticket selling business and I have a few questions that I would love to ask you if you have time
Fire me a message on IG @thumbsuprun
What happens in the case when the tickets do not sell? You will have to take the hit on the loss, correct?
yup
What’s a good discord group for releases and pre sale codes ?
Send me a pm on IG and I can recommend one that I use myself: thumbsuprun
What do you average on profit?
Will vary every year, but can go from 20-50%. Average probably around 30ish? I got a video coming out for last year totals soon to give you more insight
