Oh wow Serral and Maru rock! SC2 is still the MOST entertaining esport out there. These guys are great strategists and reactionary multitaskers, amazing. Thank you DreamHack.
This is one of the best games I've seen in a while.
When it comes to SC2, there really is nothing better than Serral vs Maru. GOAT vs GOAT, it's hard to pick just one
Maru can do it all. Early-game aggro, mid-game timings, and GODLIKE Late-game. It doesn't matter which Terran you are - Clem/SpeCial/Cure.. or how you play (Turtle, All-in, multi-harass, macro, tempo control). Whatever you can do, he can do better. Cleaner. Faster. Smarter. More efficient. There's no-one like him. It's amazing.
Clem is better at specific micro task, like mine re-target or bane targeting, but Maru micro is also top-tier at splitting and multi-prong as well.
Also the poker face 😐
It would be so cool if Blizzard took some of the best pro games and turned them into high quality cinematic shorts
Like Astartes?
Or if blizzard still supported pro sc2
@@realitant or if blizzard still supported gaming in general instead of doing shlt things all the time.
YES
Omg it would lol
I believe that these are the 2 best players in the world.
Lurkers are amazing.
Beautiful game one chess match.
Fire Bobby Kotick
All Blizzard/Activision tied entities, even casters, need to speak up now
How do you download replays from Serral?
LFG - first
noice
after you see byun playing other terran players are too slow
Nah… Byun is great and all, but maru playing slower doesn’t mean he’s actually slower.
The sadest part of being a micro savvy Terran player is that you can’t escape from the injury from playing that fast. Byun had hurt his wrist multiple times, and Maru’s shoulder problem lasted for about a year after the 4peat.
You just have to learn to not relying on micro for you to last longer as a pro.
Can Maru win game one with bio comp if he stayed aggressive? Sure, I still remember the epic 2min long rally bloodbath he had against Life in Taipei. I’m just happy he is now a all rounded player and playing smart.
The fact that you can beat this guy at the group stage and yet he's still the one making it into the finals while you don't... I mean, intellectually I can rationalize the brakets logic, but it still feels way unfair!
Well maru said in an interview he was saving builds. This seems to be true considering maru faced serral at king of battles (the tournament right after this one) in the grandfinals and beat him. Winning your group means nothing if you then lose at the bracket stage and seems perfectly fair to me
@@sage4670 "Saving builds", really? Sounds very much like an excuse to me (though of course, what do I know in my gold league, maybe it is a serious issue at the top level). As far as the rivalry, I'd have to check the stats, but I feel like these two went back and forth relatively evenly for a few years now
@@Orimthekeyacolite they did go evenly for years, at least imo. As to the saving builds, Idk how much of an excuse it is, but again there's some force behind that statement because maru did use different builds when he faced serral in the grandfinals than when they faced in the dreamhack group stages
@@Orimthekeyacolite oh, saving builds is totally a thing in pro scene all right. Especially in the heydays of SC2 before every Korean pro team disbanded.
These days, it’s still a thing but not literally saving builds a lot of times.
Back in the day, before pro players went into a big tournament/game the team staffs and members would come up with builds, advices or tweaks to their games for potential opponents/matchups.
A lot of time players would save up those builds for games that matters.
And remember the Greenwing domination when they’re the only team surviving?
After Korean scene sunk, players would find appropriate training partners to help developing new strats against certain matchup. But without a team helping analysing replays, it’s less efficient and more tiring.
So these days usually saving builds means “I didn’t really prepare so I used the most generic builds in these games.”
The usual ZvT: you know who's going to win :)
who idiot? because last time serral lost twice to maru
@@bekasiblis9540 lol the mans the average sc2 viewer who is plat 2, watches a few games every now and then but thinks he knows everything about the pro scene
@@bekasiblis9540 You've got to watch it, sucker :) Then you'll tell me if I was right or wrong
@@benini1 you were right but for the wrong reason lol
WTF...Zerg still broken? Terran has to out play zerg just to be level midgame. Broken joke race. 2 years of this and counting...
;D love this guys … like we always had kinda dinastys of races but most of the time it was the tipp of the top players that were just ahead of the game. And i really dont think zerg is ahead of terran in the overall top 10 terran vs top 10 zerg …
@@Weber1998Be I play Terran and still agree with you
@@Weber1998Be totally agree. Only Protoss has been under-represented in the TOP 10 in the last years.
Bro Serral is probably more or less the best player in the world at the moment, saying Zerg is broken because Serral dominates would be like saying Terran was broken because to beat Flash you have to so vastly outplay him.
yeah but for zerg to get ahead they have to outplay the terran... whats your point
Zergs almost wins everytime, zergs are op and unbalanced.
Or Maru just needs to adjust a bit and then maybe he’ll win the tournament
Now imagine an average zerg player who has to keep eyes around the map for widow mines. An invisible high damage big AOE invisible unit that WILL force you to lose units to get rid of it. Serral is just too good. A few mistakes and he's done with the game.
Zerg has won 7 out of 21 premier tournaments this year, dry your tears.
@@Samibellasfar Just add a little overseer and bye mines.
