Definitely had an impact on Jordan Peele’s take on The Twilight Zone season 1 episode 1 The Comedian.
You may have interpreted that way, but Peele definitely put a horror spin on it on purpose. The fact you can't see the manic horror undertones may actually be what's really disturbing.

My manager is Macedonian. The kebapi skit is 100% accurate. That man really is giving full tilt at all times.

I couldn't stop laughing at it. But the ending was pretty great. The picture of him being the only black dude back in 1935..then it made sense that he was so thankful. I guess he was like a ghost or something in the end.
That continental breakfast "devolving" into "the shining" is outright brilliant, both artistically and as a homage. I'm genuinely impressed.

Since I am from europe that skit was a bit confusing for me. A "continental breakfast" is basically a standardized hotel breakfast buffet and as such quite boring and bland. Don't get me wrong, it's nice but when you travel, you'd expect to get some local specialities, instead you get always the same regardless of where you are. And in some cases you get bad versions of something that the location isn't used to otherwise. For example it's obligatory to have croissants, so if you are in a country that usually don't have that for breakfast, you might get shitty versions of croissants. A continental breakfast is like a big budget hollywood movie that aims to be released world wide: It goes out of their way to please everyone and to offend no-one and as a result it is predictable, all over the place and has no character of it's own.
What are non-continental hotel breakfasts like in the US then?
I like the Continental breakfast guy because he appreciates every little thing in life.

Starting at 9:25, the breakfast scene gets an incredible sequence of classical music hits. Whoever put it together is a genius: different Strauss tone poems bleed together as if a single piece with an interpolation from act 3 of Die Walküre, which leads right back to Strauss--then interrupted by a chant-like voice and big band jazz.
The French skit is TOO FUNNY.

This soul food segment had my body shaking with laughter and tears rolling down my eyes. When one request was for a Dixie cup of lard and almost every organ meat or fish head imaginable, then the truth of the moment was, “Do you want gravy with that?”
i made the mistake of taking a sip of water during that skit and exactly at "a platter of stork ankles" it all went up my nose and i threw up on the floor laughing

Yeah no… definitely not comedy legends. Comedy legends are Dave Chapelle, Katt Williams, George Carlin, Bill Burr, Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey, Louis CK… I can go on… these dudes make hilarious skits and have been in skits for years with mad tv and everything so yes they are funny as hell and I give them credit but no. Legends? No.. just because they are popular and known to the masses don’t make them legends. Eventually maybe they can be but no not yet. I’d say Jordan is more of a legend of anything or closer to being one because of his work in directing marvelous movies but that wouldn’t put him in the “comedic legend” category that goes more into entertainment legend category. But no these dudes aren’t legends, eventually maybe they can be and Jordan is closer than Keegan but it would be in overall entertainment not comedy. They would have to do more in the comedic world for that not just skits that they aren’t even writing themselves
