    Instructional video on GOOSE. Please let me know what you think, what you liked, what you didn't like. I'm hoping that my explanations make sense.
    I do move quite fast because I figure this video is more reserved for intermediate-advanced players. Also, rewinding is really easy. I encourage you to adjust the playback speeds too.
    I have not included any tab, because you can buy the official tab for the album from Polyphia's website, so if you need it, just go there and support the band you like. polyphiatabs.com/ -

    By far, the most commonly asked question about this video is the tone, so here is a video about the tone used in this video.

    Especially on the bridge section with all the hybrid picking. Thanks again for making this video for us to follow and get an idea of how the song is played.

    You really have the feel down and play exceptionally clean. So many struggle to mute correctly and have the dominant notes come through all the string noise with those crazy chords jumping all over the place. Totally understandable because it's fuggin hard to really play each position perfect at tempo while anticipating where to go next. Anyway, just wanted to compliment your clean technique. Always awesome seeing someone cleanly break down cool guitar parts with great technique

      @writemetalmusic  4 года назад +7

      Hey Shef! Thanks for the comment man, means a lot.
      Fortunately for me, Polyphia sell their tab books online. And because Polyphia are using that as a source of income, I don't feel it's fair to just give their work away.
      In the future when I inevitably get requests for songs that don't have a tab book, I'll just have to go through by ear. Lots of trial and error, playing it slow, and all that fun stuff. Whenever I do this, I also search for videos of the artist playing it so I can help narrow my guess work.

      I know I'm way late to this but I just want to say I really respect that you're putting in a lot of effort to add value with these videos without undercutting them on the tab books.
      I think the quality and effort really shows and if anything it makes me want to get the tab books still to be able to have it in front of me to. I think you're doing good work and contributing positively for the community and the band.

    The middle finger hammer-on chord part at the outro is a pain damn

      Practise it slow and smooth. Any jerky or uncontrolled motions won't be able to speed up effectively.
      Hopefully that helps :)

    Great tutorial! What is the technique you are using to half mute when picking the strings on 1.42. when i tried it the strings was either not making a sound or just making a noise I know isn't right.

      Hey Benjamin! it's just a very light palm mute. Make sure the meaty part of your hand is resting right where the strings meet the bridge and adjust both towards, and away from the nut, as well as how much pressure to put on. You should quickly find a comfortable position to achieve this tone.
      It should feel like the strings are just tickling your flesh :)
