I’ve been watching since you first started your channel and it’s surreal seeing you go from all business like in your earlier vids to relaxed and more confident. Great vid! Keep up the great work
Good review. I believe Aurora makes some of the best pens on the planet. I have an Aurora 88, I believe it is. But it's a rollerball, not a fountain. But it feels really good in my hand, and that is what I like so much about it.
Thanks for the review. I managed to buy one of the revised versions of this pen where they appear to have fixed the issue with the cap. My version also came with the original Aurora case from the 1960's.
I believe this is about the posting, but the update is supposed to also fix the ink leak into the cap. I have two of these from before the change. Neither post and they both leak. Have you seen the same problem and does the new version fix that as well?
@@rogeliogarcia-cavazos3715 I had a look at one of my revised ones. The cap has never leaked, but it still does not post securely. I never noticed it because I don’t generally post my pens.
Cool review of an excellent pen, Blake. How did I miss this video before? Anyway, I like and enjoy the Aurora Duo Cart so much that I somehow ended up owning four of them (burgundy, black, light green and pink). Too bad, the sole nib offered is the medium. At least a fine and maybe an italic would be nicer. But the medium steel nib is a quite swell writer. I love it a lot. The pricing is definitely steep for the pen’s resin body and steel nib. It’s worth it to me (I bought four of them, after all 😀). I also have the vintage Duo Cart. I think I like this modern makeover model just as much as I do the old original one with the actual ‘duo cart’ filling system. Oh, I also like the Ipsilon just as much as you say you do, too. Your new look videos with the nicer background and your more casual appearance are much appreciated.
@@BlakesBroadcast ..I never once posted any of my DuoCarts. I rarely if ever post pens. But only one of them has an annoying capping problem i.e. you have to use some force to close the cap onto the pen. Also, to uncap the pen you have to again use a little force to get the cap off. And it sometimes makes a popping sound. Thankfully, the nib has never dried out or hard started.
I like the yellow color too with the black section. I almost went for it over the all black. This is the only modern Aurora that I have reservations about recommending. If you don't post your caps then I think it's a nice pen.
Hi, if i may add, your description on the loose cap when posted is similar to that of Esterbrook Phaeton 300R. Both has the same feature - hooded nib. And only comes in medium.
They definitely are different pens but with similar designs...interesting that they both have the same issue. I quite like the vintage looks of the Phaeton but it sounds like I should avoid it.
@@user-gl5ld9vm7i Haha they certainly do. I love watches but I can't afford to collect them so I avoid watch magazines and websites as much as possible.
Great review as always Blake!! I’m actually more impressed with your book than the pen!😅 Jokes aside, i think it’s a beautiful pen with the cons you mentioned as a deal breaker. The medium only nib option and the loose posting.
I am sorry to hear that. Aurora is one of my favorite brands and they make excellent quality pens but the Duo Cart isn't quite at the level I expect from them.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
@@BlakesBroadcast quite welcome! I adore fountain pens and your vids are very informative and helpful when shopping around for my addiction lol 😂
Ooooohhhh...that book on Auroras! 🖋
It's a great book for collectors, though not easy to come by.
Amazing review, Blake! Thanks!
Ps.: another beautiful watch!
Glad you like it!

Hi Bill, I agree with you. They are definitely one of my favorite brands. Aurora makes the most comfortable writer focused pens of any high-end brand.

You are welcome! If you are referring to a leak, I don't have that problem but my cap definitely does not post as securely as I would like.

Thanks Sajjad! The Duo Cart has a great nib. Do you have any issues posting yours?

I have been wanting the yellow duo cart for some time now. Now, I have to give a second thought. Thanks for the review, Blake. 😊

Good for me that I never post my pens. So, that’s never an issue for me with any pen.
At last a proper composition of Blakes head! On top of great review !! Pls do not change it.
Thanks! I don't intend to change it.

Great history lesson!
Thanks David!
Now this is a good set design.
Thanks Gino!
Nice watch. Cartier Tank?
Yes, it is the SolarBeat version.
@Blake's Broadcast Aside from fountain pens, I also love fine watches. I think they go "hand in hand, " lol.

It's a very good book :) I have very high expectations for Aurora pens and the Duo Cart was a disappointment.
🖤🤍
Thanks Philip!
I can attest that every thing said about this pen in this video is accurate.
Thanks Ali!
Very helpful but f me, your hands are on speed!
Glad it was helpful! I've practiced writing quickly.
About after six months of owning it, the cap no longer stayed securely posted on the end of the pen. What a disappointment!
It also doesn't cap well, just as explained in this video. I would not recommend the Duo Cart.

I don't have this pen. I don't like this pen.
Yes, it doesn't seem to be a crowd pleaser.
