I purchased a Gioia Metis a few weeks ago after hearing so much good stuff about them. It was my first steel-nib pen purchase in quite some time, and my I was pleasantly surprised to the feel, fit, and writing experience. It's definitely in the 'best bang for the buck' category.
I still haven’t gotten around to buying a Gioia pen yet, despite being quite tempted by some of your reviews of the pens. This model you showed here is very attractive and checks several boxes on my card. Not least the large size and that section. Weight, length and aesthetics are all quite appealing. I just wish the nibs were Bock instead of Jowo. If it were so, then I’d maybe go for the gold nib version of the Métis. The pen’s price is really hard to beat and too good to pass. Neat review, as always.
Thanks Sajjad! They are really nice pens and they test their nibs in-house for quality. They are also a great platform for custom nibs if you don't want to use a JOWO nib.
Blake, I have a question about the black version of the Metis. Is it also made from a solid rod, or is it injection moulded? Is the weight factor similar to the models made from colored acrylic rods? For this pen design, the black GT and the amaranto GT are my favorites. Thanks for any information.
It is made from a solid rod. I am not aware of any injection molded Gioia. The weight is the same as the colored acrylic Metis pens. I love the black with rose gold trim. I think it is the most elegant but I have so many black pens I went for the Amaranto which is also great.
I have it, and I LOVE IT!
I have to admit, this is the first time I have heard of Gioia. Thank you for the detailed review.
My pleasure! It's an underrated brand. They have been around for some time but mainly as an OEM manufacturer for other brands.

Yep, I agree. It's so much pen for the money.

I reckon I’m going to maybe get the Gioia Bellavista with a gold nib instead.
Thanks for this review. It has put another pen brand on my radar!
You are welcome! They make great pens.
Hi Blake, I agree completely. I have the Métis Iride and for the price it is a very well made and beautiful pen.
Thanks for the comment Gino! They are a great value. Glad to hear you like yours.
This brand is new to me. Thanks for sharing

please let me know when the Amaranto is back in stock
Hi Shawn, will do. Should have more in the next 1-3 weeks.
