    I absolutely love my 800. Thru are just such wonderful pens and I just love how easy it is to clean it thanks to the screw on unit. Love this demo look on it! Thanks Blake

      @@cynthiaalvarado8610 Unless you have a habit of changing inks in your M800, I honestly feel you’re better off not screwing the nib unit in and out, every time, or too frequently.

    I only have two Pelikans. I really like clear demos of upscale pen models.
    I have the demos of the Aurora Optima and 88, Sailor KoP, Sheaffer PFM, and Stipula Etruria. Although I’m not a big fan of Pelikan, I honestly would like to have this M805 clear demo. Looks great. And with that superbly smooth piston would be lovely to use and then see a barrel full of ink. Though I think Pelikan’s piston mechanism is designed in a way that needlessly sacrifices ink capacity.
    I didn’t expect a stiff nib on this one. It’s not something I mind (I’m so used to Aurora nibs, after all).
    If this demo pen was still available, I reckon I would buy it. Your ace review convinced me of that. 🙂
    edit: in the size comparisons, you should have brought out your lovely clear demo Optima w/red ends.

      Hi Sajjad, thank you for the comment! As someone that is not a huge fan of the Pelikan aesthetics, I think this M805 Demo looks great. Do you think the ink capacity is less than Auroras?
      Even though the nib is stiff (for a Pelikan) it still feels way different than an Aurora. It is super wet and smooth vs an Aurora which has a more unique feedback and tend to write drier.
      You are right, that would have been a better comparison.

      @@BlakesBroadcast I really think the Aurora 88/Optima and the other piston fillers across Aurora’s model inventory do have more ink capacity than the premium Pelikan Mxxx Souverain or similar pens. In any case, the round end of the piston mechanism in the Pelikan sits so high up the barrel that it clearly and inexplicably reduces the potential ink capacity.
      You’re quite correct in your description of the different nature of the nibs in Aurora and Pelikan.
      I’m going to seek to get this Pelikan demo. Or maybe even the 1005 demo. Thanks to this review, really.

    Great Review Blake I love all of my Pelikans. Did you ever get a review of the Aurora Internazionale?

      @@sajjadhusain4146 I have a good memory haha. I got mine and adore it. Has been inked every day since I got it like my Homo Sapiens Bronze age with 23k Palladium nib. I liked my new Aurora Internazionale so much I just bought an 88 Cognac Ebonite with rose gold trim and 18k. nib. I got both in medium nibs and love them. I put Pelikan Edlestein Tanzanite in the Internazionale and put Cognac brown Graf Von Faber Castell in the 88 Cognac Ebonite.

      @@williamcatalano1762 Cool to hear this. I have a good memory, too (we chatted about the Internazionale when you mentioned planning to buy one, and I strongly recommended you to go for it). 🙂 I have the Jade and Black w/rose gold trim Imternazionale pens. Did you also get the jade one? It’s a firm favorite of mine among my fleet of Auroras.
      Great that you got the Cognac ebonite 88. I just bought the Blue Ebonite last month with the Goccia F nib.
      Blake’s channel is a favorite of mine. Our shared big love for Aurora is just one reason why.

      @sajjadhusain4146 Yup I got the Verde or jade green Internazionale. Yup I remember we chatted. Haha I couldn't pass up the Cognac 88 because Goldspot has it for 716 and I got an additional 20% off because of my points I had from buying from them. I ended up getting it for around 550 dollars. Couldn't pass that up. How are their stub or italic nibs in your experience? I know Blake highly recommends them! Also I was wanting a new Parker Duofold and my Internazionale surpasses that pen probably so I have no need to now honestly.

      Thanks William. I still haven't done an Inertazionale review yet. I have to use it some more. It such a beautiful pen. I just always find myself reaching for an Optima over it.

    This is a wonderful pen and one which I have owned for many years. I don't think (at least in Europe) that it cost c. $800 in 2015. I think I bought mine for c. $450 (equivalent). Since then, the price of these M800/805 series has shot up. Perhaps this makes collecting Pelikans a good 'investment'... but of course the point of owning beautiful writing instruments is not to invest but to enjoy them for writing!

    How do you get a X3B nib for an M800, Blake? Would LOVE a BBB. I've only seen IB's and BB's for sale..

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  5 дней назад +1

      Pelikan does not make an 03B or BBB anymore so you have to find used ones. They will come with a price premium unfortunately. I paid $450 for mine which I consider a pretty good price.

      @@BlakesBroadcast Awesome. Thanks for the info. I agree. That's a good price for such a rare nib. Tried to win an eBay auction for a Pelikan, M1000 with a BBB nib. It went WAY, high in price! Ha.

      Yes, as far as I know, they no longer produce 3Bs and O3Bs. They did come out with a new Italic Broad which is really good though.

      Aurora 88 is also another good option that is about the same size as a Montblanc 146 Legrand or the Pelikan M800.

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  6 дней назад +1

      I forgot to mention the 88. The Optima and 88 are really the same pen just slightly different style.

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  6 дней назад +2

      The two best pen platforms for people wanting a nice full sized luxury pen. The most important differences are the nibs which are totally different between the Aurora and Pelikan. The second major difference is the style.
