Your love for Old Gods makes me so happy. Right now it feels like it's this incredible hidden gem in the podcast and ttrpg realm that has the potential to blow up in a huge way, but that also if it doesn't will continue to have a very passionate and supportive fan base
Kobold Press biggest mistake was taking spells from backers when they did Deep Magic (2020) for 5e. Even though there is a lot of new content in these 2 new books, a good chunk of said content is sold for the 3rd time. A big part of the spells from Deep Magic (2020) spells that are now in Deep Magic (2023) Volume 1 first saw daylight in 5e in Midgard Heroes Handbook (and other Midgard-centric past books). The same complaints they got for Deep Magic (2020) were said in regards to the MHH spells.
Instead of fixing the spell balance in Deep Magic (2018) they took more than they could chew by expanding the number of spells from people that are not professional designers and because of that they neglected past content, including class options they reprinted from previous books. Biggest offenders are the Justice Domain cleric for which they reprinted the same Domain Spell list that had a spell the cleric couldn't cast do to lack of the required Spell Slot at the level it was learned and strangely enough The Circle of Oaks druid that missed the 2nd level subclass feature even though it had it originally in the Margreve Player Guide. I bought Deep Magic (2020) because I thought it will fix the issues from previous books and compile all the spells into one single tome; the way they handled it was a huge disappointment even though I don't regret getting it.
Deep Magic Volume 1 shouldn't have existed. We either should have seen only a Volume 2 or a Volume 2 & 3 combo, with the original Deep Magic being good enough to be the actual 1st volume. I really like Kobold Press, but they need to get their act together when it comes to player options if they want repeat what Pathfinder 1e did for 3.5e. The creativity and flavor is there, but they are sloppy and don't fully let their ideas bake properly before committing them to paper and print, fact fully visible to those that bought most of their products. The same mistakes are reprinted and the same subclasses are reinvented again and again, giving GMs more things to keep account off. It also doesn't help that do to their intent to make things system agnostic, they change terminology and/or mechanics which I suspect is the reason the previously mentioned Circle of Oaks druid subclass is missing a feature that was designed and printed in an older product.
KP wants to stay at the Big Boys table together with the likes of WOTC, PAIZO, Chaosium and the like. It's time fans stop treating them as beloved small 3rd party publishers and get more critical because KP can't get the best of both worlds. If they continue like this, the only books I'll be buying are the Midgard setting ones, and that is if they actually do any more of these further on instead of keeping the setting as a dozen pages long Appendix at the end of their books...looking at you Wastes of Chaos...
Thank you for continuing to be a positive force. The love for books is infectious and is what really gets us to buy into these worlds. Keep going!
I’ll definitely be picking up the new deep magic 1 and 2 as physical books. The content is amazing.
Always loved your channel and your community :) thanks to have showed me your shop, as soon as I get my pay this month I'll buy your adventure that I've wanted to check out for forever
Love the fact you only have positive things to say. I have over 1000 rpg books in my library now all in book form. Your enthusiasm is great. Keep going!
Thanks so much!
I do believe that the critique on deep magic 1 was warranted. And am kinda disappointed that people that kickstarted /bought the original book didn't receive the updated PDF...
I kinda see what you mean with that. Good point.
Can’t wait to see what you’ll do. Keep it up buddy
4:18 It's both co-finance (/koʊˈfaɪ/) and coffee (/kɒf i/).
Not backing at the physical level of OGotA is one of my biggest regrets.. Thankfully, my birthday is this month, so I'll be getting it for myself as a gift.. lol
Future direction sounds good. Looking forward to seeing more vids.

@@MrTarrasque Yes, I'm not sure how I would feel running a campaign in there. :-p
I got my copy of old gods today. I was able to track to the delux edition and it's by far the coolest rpg I own
Good job on your channel question don't remember if you review the Genesys system or not?
What’s that DM screen on the shelf behind your head? It looks amazing and now I need to know more
It’s from my own 5e adventure called Isle of the Dreaded Accursed. Check out my Ko-fi store to grab one. Link below the video
