I made attempt to make merge from stainless. Made a template using a square section to hold pipe inside with shims and nuts welded outside to hold it with two bolts - everything welded to steel sheet and placed on mitre saw i made a straight line using angle section and divided the circumference by 4 to mark another line so the cuts would be at 45 deg. Square section has a notch at the end to see through when u spin the pipe to get 45 degree cut. Used stainless steel carbide tipped 255mm blade and the blade still wouldnt go straight over pipe radius as i wanted although it is weldable. 150mm would do the job way better with enough space to make merge Looks like band saw is the way to go and i guess not so noisy
Good morning I am a faithful follower of your account. I would like to know what is the cutting angle that you give to make a 4 to 1 collector, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you.
Hi, really nice..I am trying to make my merge collector but for 5 cylinder...I have 15degree jig but that tube stays up. I am thinking about angle...72 or 108, but i dont know how much stick the jig out to saw ...can you hel me? Thanks
@@ilikemyboost I was practicing angles on PVC for my AAN last night at work and 72 is perfect. I need to create a jig as seen in this glorious video and then I'll start with mild steel, then stainless steel when I'm ready!
@@joelfrancisco3798I am using PVC too...i already make some from PVC. Well done, the straight TIG torch is the answer to the question I could not sort out.
yeah very usefull!
That jig is genius, I have the same bandsaw so I’ll be making one. Excellent work 🤩🙌
very simple but effective!

Best video that I have seen so far, definitely will be using this method.
Awespme jig , you got skills .blown away!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice clamp. Simple and effective
Yes, thanks
Awesome jig idea!
Thank you! Cheers!
This is great thank you. I will be trying this tomorrow 👍
Have fun!
outstanding jig for that!
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!
What bandsaw blades do you us? Mine go blunt really quickly when cutting sch10 stainless

What angle would you cut to make 2 into 1 collector?
there are online calculators for that.
@RuskiWeldFab any idea what they are called? I couldn't find any
hi I have the same lathe badged up as some other ,are you aware it has a carrage lock screw
Hi buddy where you buy the black tool to cut the pipe in the angle
hi. i made it.
@@RuskiWeldFab nice bro i need 1 for me😅😅😅
2.5mm thiknes? And how long that pipe piece is?
3.2mm its shedule 10 pipe. think they were 170-180mm to begin with than trimmed down
What the length of the pipe before you cut it in the band saw?
Junior III can’t remember exactly but 14-15cm
Thank you for answering my question?
Junior III hey anytime!

it really is all about trial and error. try around 4cm
What angle of cut is the plate? have some feedback to help me.
13.5

thank you!
please, can anyone tell me what is the angle of the pipe cut, because I couldn't understand the translation ...
The jig has been set for 11.5deg. But it can vary depending on diameter of the pipe.
How did you find that angle? Can you show how to find the angles needed, whether it’s a formula or a mach-up
Hi, degree ths??
13 I think
@@RuskiWeldFab Tips 13 or more
the cut on the pipe

Nice man. I like the jig you made for cutting the collector. Cheap and effective.
Why weld it with pulse? Nowhere near thick enough to need it!
probably for filler timing practice
thats exactly what it was. just a bit of practice.
simply practice. new machine as well. the rest was done in normal
do you find you don't cook your stainless as much on the pulse setting? also what was your machine settings at during the vid?

What size is the angle iron you use?
Junior III no idea, need to measure it. Was just something I had laying around. Think it’s about 50-60mm by 20mm
