  • Got my hands on an SBF. Did you know if you smash a LiPo into an SBL in the right way they'll merge together and form an SBF? (dont actually do this)
    Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one!

    I love that intro. It's almost like you discovered a new element on the periodic table.
    I have to admit, I would have been kind of cool if Gavin also included an LED in the muzzle to imitate muzzle flash when using tracers. Overall, I love the CZ Scorpion appearance. It looks like an awesome flywheeler.

      The Omnia is a nice blaster at a good price point but the SBF is a premium brushless option, they aren’t nearly the same. Both fill different areas of the market by a large variation and that’s a good thing

    • @benpereznerf
      @benpereznerf  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@naniwatiger2450 like what @junior7nerf said, the Omnia and SBF aren't really comparable and cater to different markets. The Omnia is way cheaper and off the shelf, but has a terribly long trigger delay and a lot have reported really bad accuracy with darts flying off to the far right instead of flying straight. These can be fixed with some modifications, but then it isn't really the best performer out of the box.
      The SBF is way more expensive but comes with variable fps, fire-rate, and almost no trigger delay if you tune the settings right. The Omnia's price also becomes less of a selling point if you live in a place where dart zone doesn't sell locally and you have to pay the import costs for it.
      I can't truly speak for the Omnia since I don't own one or plan to get one, but both blasters are great flywheelers. You're definitely getting what you paid for with each one though.

    Got mine in May (a fellow man of class, BTW with that Startup sound) and it’s legit one of the best [flywheel] blasters I’ve used. Our team now has like 7 of them LOL.
    Considering the price (used to come with LIPO, but maybe he’s not doing that anymore…), and the features included…it’s simply insane.
    I didn’t experience the jamming like you had with the BCAR (can confirm it leaves FPS a little lower, but not horrible for most games), But if you put a waffle dart in there by accident……good luck. (Almost destroyed my motors that way but I got lucky 😅) however I had a bad solenoid as well, so that was fun along with the couple week wait for a replacement LOL
    can’t wait for my momentum to show up and see how it stacks up!🥴
    Great review Ben! I’ve been waiting for someone to post one…

    A scorpion evo already looks like a "futuristic space gun" and the general public wouldnt be able to differentiate that from any star wars or video game replica...I think the only design to be weary of raising red flags are more traditional m16 or AR riffles or anything that is slim and shaped like older rifles from guns dipicted im movies. But like you mentioned: bright colors are key and as long as u follow that and have an orange tip you should be fine in public

    • @benpereznerf
      @benpereznerf  11 месяцев назад +1

      I've heard a few people turned off from the SBF once they found out it resembles a scorpion evo. Even the worker kriss vector stryfe body kits were a debated topic a few years back since they actively resembled a real steel firearm (albeit a very sci-fi looking one).
      To be honest, any blaster can be mistaken as a firearm by a passer-by and there's no way to avoid that other than to use bright colours or design blasters in the most unergonomic and ugly ways just to distance the hobby from real steel

      I'd assume so but I'll have to check with gavin first. Would be cool to change the startup sound every once in a while.

    Needs to be dual stage. Then the BCAR makes sense.

    • @benpereznerf
      @benpereznerf  Год назад +3

      Dual stage brushless would ramp up the hardware kit price even more and though it would reach even higher fps, it wouldn't be as good for cqb games which what I think the SBF is designed for. The bearing scar still works well on single stage

    • @digitalben420
      @digitalben420 Год назад

      @@benpereznerf ya slightly more expensive but not by much. You could also easily adjust down to sub 200 fps speeds if you desire with a dual stage.
      From my experience and testing, BCARs do very little to improve accuracy in flywheelers unless they are going faster than 200fps. I bet if you did some accuracy testing with and without the BCAR at 160ish fps you will find the accuracy doesn’t improve much.

    • @benpereznerf
      @benpereznerf  Год назад +1

      I had a standard faux worker barrel in it for my most recent gameplay video and the accuracy was horrendous compared to this. Even at 150fps the bearing scar improves accuracy greatly in my experience.
      It could be the angle of your bearings didnt match the fps to provide a good enough boost to accuracy, but it seems like Gavin had it figured out when designing the SBF

    • @digitalben420
      @digitalben420 Год назад

      @@benpereznerf no. The bearings are aligned properly, I would love some video backing up this claim.

    • @benpereznerf
      @benpereznerf  Год назад +1

      It's not the alignment of the bearings that I'm referring to, but the angle of spin they are imparting on a dart might not enough or might be too much for the fps of the blaster. Like how different springers tend to need different twist settings on adjustable string scars, flywheelers also need to have this angle tuned to provide a proper improvement to accuracy.
      Out of curiosity, what flywheel blaster did you test a BCAR on? From what I've read on other people's testing and with my experience with FTW cages, any sort of accuracy improving devices should be right at the end of the flywheel cage so the dart passes through them while it is still leaving the flywheel cage in order to impart any sort of accuracy improvement.
      I'll see if I can fit making a video comparing the accuracy of the SBF's bearing barrel to using a faux worker barrel in my video schedule at some point
