    I’m so frustrated. I’m disabled. I havé Cerebral Palsy and use a power wheelchair, Lymphedema, migraines, C-PTSD. If I get a migraine, it could ruin my trip. I have collected Disney for most of my life and have never been. I have chronic pain from 3 different disabilities. This hurts. It’s ridiculous to charge for Genie plus when guests have already bought park tickets. DAS is called the Disability Access Pass. All of my diagnoses are disabilities. This breaks my heart.

      Sorry you feel that way. However, I'm planning to get to work at Disney so that I can make some positive changes there. In time, hopefully, Genie+ will disappear, DAS will be improved, and Fast Passes will make a comeback.

      I totally understand, we have at least 3 of the same medical issues, I was turned down for the new DAS pass right after I just qualified for another 60 days. I had just purchased the 2nd highest annual pass and then they took the DAS pass. I’m also a disabled veteran who uses a powered wheelchair and I have PTSD , agoraphobia severe anxiety and panic disorder and lymphedema to name a few. I was questioned like a criminal and made to go into my entire medical history with people Disney claimed were medical professionals, I was made to go into my PTDS and bring up all what I go through with that and my panic and anxiety! I was stressed and feeling terrible, and I was denied a DAS pass. Going to Disney always made me feel happy and good, anyone with the things I live with that can make me feel happy sometimes and to get taken away is terrible. I had to beg Disney for my 950 park passes to be refunded. I know I can’t enjoy a day there without DAS passes. 😞😞. So sad that they would rather loose Disabled people than to help us some to enjoy ourselves.

    We just got das pass for my son who has major sensory processing disorder. He cant wait in lines for more then a few minutes without screaming ,biting,hitting and throwing a horrible tantrum on the floor and trying to run away. I am so grateful they made it an easy process to get him the service. I hope it helps him so that we can enjoy the attractions and not have to leave.

      Absoloutely love hearing this! It does make for such a great accommodation. We have similar needs for our family, so I can relate as to how useful it is when in such a confined space.

      My child has issues like this as well, but it’s embarrassing to discuss them. I don’t like Disney being so invasive about all his issues. Shame on people abusing the system.

    My son has Down Syndrome and the DAS pass is a life saver. He cannot wait in long lines. If the line is not long we will go in it and not use the DAS pass.

      Agreed! Only using it as needed. There are many lines that a pass isn't needed at all because the line is tolerable and short. Love that you mention this!

    I'm really scared that I won't qualify, even though I am autistic. We wouldn't ever have booked a trip if it wasn't for DAS. We're going for our honeymoon in October/November and I really hope I'll qualify, I don't know if I can handle it without this accessibility option.

  • @JustCliff

    What if you do have Autism but, that’s not the reason for needing a return time. It’s a separate medical condition

    • @bibbidibobbidibestie
      @bibbidibobbidibestie  4 месяца назад +2

      That is a good point. I think at the end of the day, they want to know how your conditions affect your ability to stand in line. If it is not tied to a neurological disorder that will be for them to determine. Sending pixie dust!

    I am legally disabled with all the paperwork and always had a das pass i even fly in and bring my own scooter i have two major diseases one on the NORD and 32 subsequent problems one cognitive and a disabled fed, i simply cannot goto the parks without the das I cant last that long. we decided to return our 7 day hoppers to undercover tourist wrote them wrote disney and said we arent even going to do the interview and get denied from what an insider friend said as well as forums the preference and they are singling out a certain disability, Im not going to have a third party company and a cast member decide what doctors have decided. we simply will not go to disney this august. we gave them our my experience info so they could verify our return. I am not going to play that game. It is singling out a disability and violates ada. im not going to by the lightening or the swap thing. They simply will not get our money. Shame on them. You can disagree or make comments but that was our decision to protest. we receive no reply from anyone.....

    My daughter is 15 and has been using DAS since she was 5 years old do to her medical condition. This year they totally kicked her out and it has ruined her entire experience. She has had to fight through her condition just to be able to do a few of their rides and has had to return to our room because of their refusal to accommodate her. We loved Disney and appreciated and thought so highly of them for their support and treatment of our daughter. NOT ANYMORE… this is without a doubt our last trip to their parks. We have a granddaughter that we were intending to bring in the upcoming months, and now that’s a big fat NOPE. We will boycott their products, theme parks and motion picture. Good bye is how we part with friends. Good riddance is how we part with Disney. 😡

    I am not sure how I feel about this change. I personally have dysautonomia and it causes pots as well as EDS. I also have ADHD, sensory processing, ocd and movement disorder (Tourette's diagnosed after 18) as well as generalized anxiety disorder. It was already so hard when I called because a lot of them play off each other and make things worse. For instance if I am over stimulated I tic more which unfortunately I have motor and vocal tics and i have accidently hit people before (literally last week almost clocked someone) they are violent and that's what Iv always got the DAS under was the anxiety, Tourette's and seizure meds I was on to help them. Now I feel like it will be sus to tell them about the others. I have documentation and am wondering if it will help to have on hand. That way they know im not full of it lol but i know they tech don't want diagnosis at all they want how it effects you. I have no idea how to word or prepare my request now and i am 78 days out from another trip. I always pre write what I'm going to say to help me stay on track and I am lost now.

      I'd definitely say it is still worth applying or calling. I think you made a good point, they want to know how your conditions affect your ability to stand in line. So I'd say start there then share whats needed to get that across. Wish you the best trip!

    Rider swap for bathroom needs makes me really upset. I go in to Disney in a party of two….. so what??? Now I don’t get to spend the entire vacation with the one person I’m with? I also feel that this doesn’t account for people with multiple disabilities. I have mobility disabilities, bathroom disabilities, and neurodivergent disabilities but I use DAS for the bathroom because I deal with the others. Co morbidities make each person so unique and none of their “solutions” are anything I can use and I’m flying across country for Disneyland this September and it all feels like I should just cancel my trip.

    • @bibbidibobbidibestie

      I totally get that. I think there will need to be tons of kinks worked out with the new plan. I think ultimately they want to do right for those who need it. So definitely connect with them and I’m sure they will help assist you, though I do understand the frustration. 💕🫶

      @@bibbidibobbidibestie I plan on it for sure! Thanks for your video in general. It’s better than just stewing in my head. I’m just thinking about lines that aren’t designed to get in and out of and potentially having bathroom emergencies I wouldn’t be able to avoid/days ruined/needing to go back to the hotel and clean up because I was stuck in a line and trying to follow a new protocol to get out.

    • @davidnimmo6049
      @davidnimmo6049 5 месяцев назад +2

      I had the same thought. Rider swap isolates you from your party. The people that have abused this system have ruined it for those that need it. I am a 100% disable veteran with more broken than what works. The DAS as it was allowed me to sit and wait and have space between me and other guest. When I am in a line with little to no movement I start to feel as though I am under attack and freak out. Even with the DAS I have only been able to do Guardians once over many trips because the anxiety gets so bad from my medical conditions i start to gag and have even vomited. That is really a vacation killer. Some might say dont go to Disney then. My answer to that is Disney has been my happy place where I can forget about the aches and pains and enjoy being with those that I love.

    I would like them to put a stop to people using handicap parking. They need to make sure the paperwork matches the name of the person in the car. I’m tired of not being able to park in handicap parking and meanwhile see whole families get out of their cars and take off running. It’s not fair to take parking from us.

    Update!
    For a fact as of May 20, 2024. Anyone Who has cancer, use an oxygen tank, ptsd, multiple sclerosis and more. You will not qualify. Disney dose not have a new system in place. For people who don’t qualify for DAS. No it is not be the same thing as Universal Studios Orlando. Where a doctor note will need to be provided. This company is 3rd party. Called “Inspire Health Alliance.”
    As of right now you will get a medical lecture on how you will better be off by doing other things. Like shop and dine. (Spin money) instead of getting on rides. They are going to use fake intellect medical advice to change peoples thinking. Like go to the restroom, take medications, eat before getting in a long lines. If you need to step out. Tell a cast Member and they will issue a rider switch swaps pass. Which is a lie bc cast members only give it at the end of a ride for a couple. To switch parents who child can’t ride. This will not help out anyone at all. Who doesn’t qualify.
    People who need to transfer to a wheelchair from a ECV/ Scooter. Disney cast member will not help push your wheelchair through the long lines. Rides like pirates of the Caribbean, space mountain, Enchanted tales with Belle, Peter Pan flight. If you are in a ECV/ scooter you must transfer to a wheelchair. Someone in your party must push you in the long lines! Inside of the ride. If not you can’t ride these rides!
    Disney company will not be sued. it’s the 3rd party discriminating against people who have a disability or age discrimination. A person who is 90 years old still won’t qualify for DAS. People like my self will sue the 3rd party. Disney knows this they don’t care.
    Big issue is people like myself who won’t qualify for DAS. who can’t turn around in line with their wheelchair, ECV, scooter how is Disney going to make sure we can leave to lines? For restroom, food and or medications along with a medical emergency? What will Disney do if we can’t turn around? Total chaos! If I die, get sick or can’t get to a restroom fast enough or hospitalized. Disney will be blamed!
    The Walt Disney Company is losing money bc of canceled Disney+ subscriptions, poor movies and tv shows and content. Disney parks losing money bc people using DAS pass. Instead of buying lighting lane. No one is buying their poor quality products and merchandise in the Disney Parks or online store!
    The Walt Disney Company and Disney Parks will only be catering to the high class and high middle class people. The Walt Disney Company and Disney Parks. No longer wants people who don't have money. Going to their Disney Parks. Including people who are disabled or old.
    Especially people with low income. Who can't afford Disney parks. Due to this. They are not spending enough money. Some types of these people. Are also get in to fights. In the parks. Disney don't have the man power or care to deal with these people. Sent from a concerned citizen. For the truth and better America.

      I'm truly sorry you feel that way. I understand your concern. That's why I'm planning to make some real positive changes at Disney. Right now, I'm currently applying to work at Disney. I'm planning to not only improve the Disney movies and TV shows, but I'm also planning to improve the parks and the DAS pass. I'm also planning to not only save Disney from losing money, but also improve its service towards its customers, including people who are disabled or old. The Walt Disney Company and Disney Parks will NO LONGER be catering to just the high class and high middle-class people. They'll be catering to EVERYONE regardless of class. I don't know if I'll succeed in achieving my goal, but I hope that I will.
