Hey buddy, almost every new video you put out I am only able to listen to while working first. I watch those videos later at night. But THIS video? I closed my desk and turned off my phone and watched it beginning with the first minute! Great shots and narration!
Just want to let you know that we appreciate your work and channel. I still cannot believe that you only have 60K followers. C'mon people, show this dude some love. Subscribe and spread the word. This guy is entertaining and exciting to watch. Keep up the great work Ty
Last week I was about 15 minutes to late to see a calf born. I now have 8 calves to work with now. Live this time of the year. Good luck and love your videos.
Congratulations, Tyler! It’s exciting to see the progress of your herd. I’m glad to be back feeding and caring for the cows. I’ve binge watched all of your other videos so I am anxious for new updates. Never tire of showing videos of your daily chores. It’s a great escape for us wannabe rancher/farmers! We’re stuck in our concrete worlds and living vicariously through all you do! Thanks again
Hey there Tyler, I hope you're all well and good! One thing different that we've always done is to try and have the cows in a small, clean, dry area, preferably with a roof overhead. Another thing different that we do is that just as soon as we find the calf, we go look it over, give it an ear-tag, and if it's a bull, we castrate him right then and there, and he never knows anything ever happened, vs waiting until he's older. I hope y'all have a good one! 🐂👍🇺🇸
Hello Farmer Tyler! Like you said, ready or not!! Congratulations on a healthy calf! Loved listening to you and thank you for taking us along through the problem solving journey! We are supposed to start calving March 28! In Kansas, hopefully our pastures will have grass so we can take the cow and new calf out to pasture as soon as we can! We just got done lambing and have a few goats to kid yet so…we are not ready to calve yet!! Blessings from your fellow RUclips friends from Kansas!
Good management and good fertility and you can get early calves. Wholesome family farms had a cow cycle 3 weeks after calving, the bull was still in with the cows and he had a January calf in very cold weather in south east Minnesota.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing this video. I was just thinking yesterday to write you and request a new video, and boom here you are. Yay! I do wish you would upload more often, but I understand how much work goes into farming work, work, being a husband, being a father, and then (which is where it should be) filming a new videos. I do wish you and your family, and you animals well. Cali is gorgeous. Wow! She’s maturing into a very beautiful retriever. 🐕 Again thanks so much for sharing 😄
Thank you Donna yeah I’d like to do more videos too but for the time being at least, it’s looking like one a week is about as good as I can do. Maybe I can get a few short ones in now and again
Congratulations on the new additions to the herd. Through your channel, I’ve come to see just how much thought, love, and care you put into your herd ❤️
I love your channel, I'm learning so much just from watching you talk about calving and feeding the cows to the work you do with your machine's. It's all very interesting thank you for bring your channel to us😁👍🏼🎉
Hi FTR ! Cali is sure filling out nicely and looks mighty proud to be setting next to you in the side by side😋. Like some other viewers have stated, I really like the black baldies, always have. Once again I must comment on how much I like your guitar strumming. Out on the winter pasture with the music in the background was just so relaxing and made a perfect “picture” . Great video and good luck with the remaining calving season, you are off to a very good start!
Calving Season! Mothers and Calves seems to be doing well! Congratulations on the three new calves! Callie loves Riding Shotgun! Congratulations Number 18! Nice little Heifer calve! Thank-you! Great Video!
another great video, the calves are early but you are already in greenup so should do fine. They look healthy and mature to me as well, nice and alert.
I never raised cattle but,had a few beef steers. What I want to say is I have learned and never knew that there was so much involved in raising and caring for cattle. You farmer Tyler are a great teacher and Rancher. Thank you for sharing all you know with us. 👍
Good evening to Farmer Tyler Ranch and all others too. Congraulation to Farmer Tyler Ranch great work Tyler so happy to see the progress of the herd. Thanks for sharing and everyone have a Safe and Bless day.
That was such an interesting video Farmer Tyler. The way you explain everything makes it so much more interesting !! Thanks for sharing your daily routines, even the simplest tasks seem interesting !!
Good class Professor...LOL Glad all the new ones are healthy. Interesting though about the Redmond Factor. Sounds like a new research proposal for the FTR..LOL.
Congratulations papa 👏 💖 💙 ❤. Love your videos. You are so down to earth and real and that is awesome 👌 👏 👍. I have been going back and watching all of your old ones to catch up, love them ❤.
Cows have a calving/cleansing heat at 10 days post calving. They can (not likely) but can settle on that heat. Then they start to cycle at normal intervals of 18-25 days. A high production cow like a dairy cow, might not cycle as fast, but a beef cow should be cycling well before 3 months post calving. Just FYI. :) Enjoy your vids.
Yeah I saw you guys are starting your vacation haha! Actually I’m guessing you’re maybe more busy during dry season with all the things you couldn’t do while you were milking!
Another interesting video. Really enjoy how well you know your animals. The distressed calf call was amazing. Probably a common thing among you farmer/ ranchers. Not so much for a city dweller.
Congratulations on the new calves, so adorable. I forgot, why are some of the cattle on the winter pasture as compared to the other ones where they are.
Very cool vid, love seeing the babies! That white faced one really stole my heart! What a fun time of year. If they’re calving early, does that mean the bull needs to leave for awhile? They sure keep you busy! Thanks for taking us along Tyler!
Farmer Tyler--The new calves are beautiful and so healthy-looking. I can tell you take such very good care of them ! You have a really good sense of humor too ! Keep up the great work. And, God Bless you, your Family and all your well-cared-for animals. 😊😊👍🦮🐂
its great to see the baby s and how well they are doing , its always greatto see the cows and the way they are seems that hey are all healthy and ready to give you a great season of baby calves . its great to see all the happy cows and bull in the pastures , thank you for bringing us to your ranch and showing us the magic of baby calves ....omg calli is getting to be a great farm dog ....love her lotz . thank you from seattle
That sounded so funny…comparing a cow’s udder to water balloons!😂 I would agree…you are experiencing an extremely early calving season. Hope all goes well for the cows and calves this year! The calves seen sure looked healthy, and are definitely positive additions to your herd!👍👍
Congrats on new calves, early birds. You have a plan for feeding the cows and keeping the vulnerable calves safe. Bet you are glad you still have some rectangular bales that you can load up on the smaller runabout vehicle! Nice to see those sunshine And blue skies. Muddy areas will dry out in no time. Stay well and safe, greetings from Canada
It’s a good feeling when they start to pop. At least you’re not dealing with winter storms and freezing temps. We’re up to 20 calves to date. We started mid January. (Due to bull getting in early). Great video. Cattle look good.
Congrats on the calves. Thank you for all the information. We are new to beef cattle. Our calving date is May 15th. We are in Wisconsin so the snow should be gone by then.
I started giving my cows Redmond salt block and Redmond granulated selenium 90 at about the same time you started. I did this because of a disastrous previous calving season and I've noticed the same thing you noticed. Mine are also cycling sooner. I'm hooked on Redmond for life now. By no fault of my own (neighbors bull came to visit my early last yr) I have at least 5 cows bred early. 3 of the 5 have already calved. I'm in SE Indiana with snow and ice on the ground and low night Temps in the single digits lately. Not my idea of fun lol
Great start to the calving season. Wonderful explanation of what to look for when they are getting close to calving. How many acres is the winter pasture? Just wondering so I can plan for the cattle to put on my land and your cattle seem so well looked after and healthy. Great job.
Greetings from central California. The calves look great! So do the cows, for that matter. Seems like lots of things are early this year, including springtime. Hopefully we get some more rain.
Those are some good looking calves. That heifers calf is a nice size and very healthy looking. You are off to a good start. Well done. Are you going to record the births and tag the calves?
Well, you're going to be even busier now! Calves are so darn cute Mom's taking good care of them. I was thinking toward the end of the video you had better get Cali back home, she has been yawning a lot so she can nap. 😎
I'm glad to see it's kicking off smoothly! I have one starting to bag up right now that I got from auction. I have no idea what she was bred with, so it should be fun. I hope it's a nice, trouble free year for you and the ladies.
Everything looks great! Do you ever have trouble with predators bothering the cows or calves? Here in the Southern Willamette Valley in Oregon, we have had a lot of coyote and cougar sightings.
Thought that California was warm and sunny. You sure deal with a lot of rain, mud and cloudy weather!
Hey buddy, almost every new video you put out I am only able to listen to while working first. I watch those videos later at night. But THIS video? I closed my desk and turned off my phone and watched it beginning with the first minute! Great shots and narration!
Awesome thank you!
Here we go!!! Calves and hay
New program is working.......!!!!
The white faced calves are just beautiful!!
My wife and I can't wait for l the next vid with even more calves!
That distressed calf call is the ticket! Well done!
Oh boy fun times ahead! I pick up my bull Friday start the cycle again! Lol

Thank you Gina!
Damm you speak good calf. 🤣. We needed you on our ranch. I haven't seen a cow run back very often.

Such cute calves. That's a really good calf call you do. Sounds just like 'em.
I love the look of those Black Baldies! Missing the twice weekly video's (wink wink). Anyway another great one Tyler!

Hi there to the whole FTR family!!!! Tyler do you have a favorite mom or calf? Will you be doing another Q & A soon with the family? 😁👍🏻
Hmmm I can’t quite decide on a favorite. A q and a sounds like a great idea we’ll have to do that soon
Was that little white faced calf limping? Hind leg, right side if you're looking at the tail end. Congrats on the new arrivals!
No I think she’s ok. Was only a few hours old at that time so maybe just a little shaky still
I'm glad to see it's kicking off smoothly! I have one starting to bag up right now that I got from auction. I have no idea what she was bred with, so it should be fun. I hope it's a nice, trouble free year for you and the ladies.

So far predators haven’t really been an issue. Hope that trend continues
