Well you can make good money with that boat hauling Cubans to the US. Think they get $10k per person now. Just dump them off at Boca Grande and you're done. They have dry feet, and you're counting money.
I cleared in Bimini back in March, this video/information is extremely accurate and a huge resource. Really enjoy your MacGregor videos too, would love to see it in the bahamas!
Good information to know! But jeez what a pain in the ass. I wanted to get a sailboat and sail to the Bahamas. But now I’m considering just finding a crew that I can join and let the captain deal with all that. lol
Using Harbor Town ramps with a boat, use the two north ramps. The two south ramps, there's a shelf in the canal that will chow your props at low tide. There's a buoy marking the shelf location.
You video popped up in my feed, Seems like a lot of bureaucratic hassle nightmares of hoops to jump through. It seems like Miami to Key Largo is less paperwork. Thanks for taking the time to post this just the same. I don’t need the Bahamas , but the Bahamas needs me (my Money) so why all the red tape? Cheers
I don’t disagree. It’s much easier now that you can do it all online (click to clear) before you even leave the US. Our last check in at Freeport took about 10 min. And no longer need to check out if you use the click to clear method. Thanks for the watch and comment. 👍🏻
Very cool video , I’ve been in Florida for a few years and thinking of getting a boat to go back and fourth to the Bahamas and didn’t know how long it takes and the process of making the trip you just made it that much easier.. thanks and god bless

@@FrigateChaserFishing Thanks for sending this. I filled it out and paid electronically. Hopefully it will speed up the process or at least make it smooth. And you don't have to retest in 5 days if you been vaccinated. I was glad to hear that!
@Brandon Wiman How was the trip? Have any problems? New info? Was the CBP Roam app all you needed to check back into the US or did they send you to port of call?
Sorry you had to sell your boat. Yes it is been 4 years since I been to Bimini. My father used to hang out on Cat Cay on his boat in the late 1950's. I did not see your weather apps.
Wow, this sounds like a bunch to do and remember. Maybe we will always stay state side when we get our boat. I agree with you on the drone regulations; it's been almost 9 months since I have flow mine and probably did it illealy then. Cheers.
Good video. I didn't know about the drone thing. Hey, can you please tell us about your camera and telescopic pole? Is it a phone and what pole you using? It was long and neat how it didn't show in the video. Much to learn. 😊
I used a 360 camera. They are fun but take a little extra time reframing the shots. As long as you have the camera centered w the pole, the pole will be hidden in the stitch line. There are many long poles out there but I like the #270 Pro. The carbon fiber is top notch and no flex which is important for keeping the pole hidden. 🙌🏼. Should be some links in the description. 👍🏼🎉🎥
It depends on what you mean by uninterrupted sun. In my opinion, April-June are the best times to go. While you do get afternoon storms late in the day as you get into the summer months, they are typically short, but strong downpours and then things clear right back up. We just booked a trip for this year where we’ll cross to Bimini, then head to Great Harbour Cay and we are doing that the first week of May.
@@FrigateChaserFishing thanks for the information. We want to do Bimini to chub cay to macduffs in the exhumas. Maybe bomb around on down to compass cay and come back

@@FrigateChaserFishing Thanks again for the video. We're planning our first Bimini crossing for next summer and your videos will be invaluable for that planning.

Leaving Houston Texas this week to make the trip. Pulling my 27’ World Cat. What did you need to do at Harbor Towne Marina before launch and leaving your truck for the trip? Any pre notice? Thanks
We’ve never given pre-notice but probably worth a call just to be sure. Super easy process. Just pull in and someone will show up on a golf cart to take your info and money. Stick to the launches to the north but watch out for getting too close to the mangroves as there are definitely rocks over there. Good luck let us know if you have any other questions.
