Small company. We do all plumbing. Im constantly referring a local jetter company. Feed back feom customers are nkt great. Last customer said the kid showed up and said he didnt want to get up on the 10' flat roof and jet down the 4" vent stack that was directly above the clog. He wanted to go inside and pull the toilet. WTH..
I think its time to start Jetting. Can you please, if you where me, exactly what equipment would you purchase to be available to provide jetter services to residential homes. I already have cameras, cable snakes and locating equipment
We have a lot of grease laden pipes feom bad plumbing methods in the last couple housing booms, conrete pipe with roots.

Ok so can I use a 4000psi /4.0 gmp jetter to cut roots ?
Also what size hose would be good to use if this can work?
1/4" x 150' or 5/16" x 200'. In our testing and experience we found 5gpm at 3000psi is better than 4gpm @ 4000ps

What type of engine and pump does this unit use? No info on web site.
The engine used is a Honda GX390, and the pump is a 5gpm@3000psi Udor Pump
I'm thinking of building my own jetter set up and I'm thinking of using a 5000psi 5gpm. And I think I'm going to put a storage tank cover. What do you think?
Ya man, a 5, 5 is perfect for jetting residential and some commercial stuff. That is the perfect size. I have 5 different ones, I have the spartan 758 with the 12gpm 3k psi. I love it but I honestly use the 4gpm 4kpsi more than anything

Is it the pressure or the gpm that cuts roots?
Great question! It is a focused jet stream of 5gpm through a single hole, with ~2750psi at the tip. Lower flow is less restricted through hoses, so you lose less water volume and less pressure. The trick is to maximize the effect of low flow and intensifying the psi.

What is the pressure capabilities of the pump . I have a 4200 PSI at 4.3 gallons per minute would that be enough for a head like those I use quarter inch hose but I'm looking to upgrade into heads like this now I've been doing some research having a hard time finding out what type of pump I'm going to need any advice would be greatly appreciated
The bigger the pump, the bigger the motor requirements. Feel free to give us a call if you need some help selecting a pump for your motor! It sounds like you have a 13hp Honda, which maxes out at 5gpm 3000psi. To go bigger to 6gpm@4000 psi, you would need a 16hp motor.

I have the same size machine you have, and like you, gpm is what lacks to have those super power nozzles do what they can do. I searched hi and low, and found you can hook 2 of those machines together and then you will have the 4300 psi at 8gpm. It looks like all it takes is a t fitting, 2 jumper hoses and 2 check valves. This would be 1000's less and give me the extra gpm when needed.as often the single unit takes care of most cleanings.
@@stevem1081 I never even thought about hooking two machines together to get a GPM that's a fantastic idea. And I have two of those machines. The only thing that concerns me is the amount of water that comes in from the municipal supply sometimes it can't be enough but I did build a trailer with a buffer tank. What I have learned throughout the years is that even though you think your pump is keeping up with the municipal water coming in it might be teetering right at the edge and you're destroying your pump with cavitation and not even knowing it. But wow thank you for that bit of advice with what you're doing that is incredible I'm going to keep that in mind
@@ericerto8250 correct, I have been at places that had a well, and it couldn't keep up with 4 gpm. I have a flow gauge, so anytime I question the flow, I just screw the flow gauge on the end of the garden hose at the machine, takes just a few seconds to tell, a lot faster than seeing if I can fill a 5 gallon bucket in 1 minute for 1 machine, or fill it in 30 seconds if running both machines.
So, what are the specs on this $4k machine... Pressure? Flow? And where's your website... I was trying to view options...

Well... That's a head scratcher... I just watched it (again), and zero mention of either Pressure OR volume... I'm guessing you watched a different video. @@stevem1081
If your nozzle can cut thru plywood wouldn't it also cut thru ABS pipes around 90 degree bends?
We had similar fears as nozzles become more powerful. Turns out that the water jets are deflected off the walls and do not cut into the pipe, but they cut and remove obstructions to the round pipe. If there is a bad cast iron pipe then it may expose the bad pipe, and clean it thoroughly.

I'm fairly sure if you had a forward cutting nozzle(or a reverse) and stopped right at a 90 and had the jet shooting straight at the pipe and just held it there, it would cut it.
