I definitely shop for fabric the same way. I rarely go in with a set plan of what to buy (like "Today I need red denim" or whatever). Instead I just see what is there and it tells me what it wants to be. The fabric weight and texture often inspires certain cuts and silhouettes that it would look best in.
Hey Daniela, I miss these fabric shopping trips and updates with you. I know you're very busy and can't do them very often, but this treat is so well appreciated. We're going on a field trip with you for a design project....yay!
When i am tired of sewing, i just look at your videos. You really have a purpose on this world and that is to lift up future designer's spirit. I love u and we love you. ❤️
Daniela, Girl! I LOVE your vidoes. I love taking little adventures with you fabric shopping and watching you create the lovely garmets! I'm so happy you are back. You really inspire and keep my creativity flowing.
This was incredible! I wish I was as disciplined. I shop to be inspired to a fault! I make trips to Santee Alley in LA for fabric and that can be dangerous for someone who budgets themselves. I still got bins of fabric I have yet to use.
OK first, those sunglasses and lip color, YES! I'm the same way. I buy fabric first, then create. Sometimes I like the fabric to tell me what it wants to be. Can't wait to see the finished garment. I love these series. Thank you do much for sharing.
You are so good to your mum. I love this video it makes me feel like I am virtual shopping. Beautiful choices. I would choose the orange silk as top and the white and black frill for skirt. So inspiring.
I create Window Fashions...many times the fabrics will tell you what they want to become or else, you know what you want to make, and you choose the fabric accordingly, so I totally understand what you were saying when you left the first store. back to my watching....I would go crazy in those fabric stores...best to stay in my NC mountain town.
I can't wait to see Daniela ! I like that you take us along in the fashion district to shop. I'm from a town with only Joann's so I love seeing other places to buy fabrics. I HAVE to shop online for decent fabric. This feeds my eyes! lol thanks
Hi!! Awesome bargaining. Lol It's too bad that Paron Fabric closed. They sold the previous season's fabric from the biggest ready to wear houses. They had high end fabric like B&J for less than $10 per yard. I usually design first then buy the fabric. The fabric changes if what I want/find is too expensive. Lol
Yes me too ... maybe we can all set aa date for a trip to New York. Myfiance and I are planning a trip for next year. We need you for a guide for real!
U hit up a few of my spots. That Jewish guy with the glasses where u got the blue fabric is so funny. I stay in the box of remnants too. I get most of my prom fabrics from there. And Pacific trim is the spot. Can't wait to see the outcome
I normally design the gown/costume first then based on my mood if I wanna do it either classic or fancier, I search for fabrics that would compliment each other and buy them at increments at a time like I would buy the skirt fabrics first then buy the bodice fabric and so on. Normally notions and embellishments would be bought with the fabrics but sometimes I would bring swatches of the fabric Im using to the trimming stores in our fabric and bargain districts so that I am able to make sure that it compliments the fabrics while adding texture and a contrast to make the garment look better than the sketch.
I love your videos I’m from Florida I’m an upcoming designer and you really inspire me and I want to move to New York sooooo bad but your just amazing and keep up the great work
Oooh 😲 I would not know what to buy there. Everything is so gorgeous. It will make my head spin and I will buy so many things. Gosh but the viriaty it endless. And your fabric is so cheep. We pay a lot here from 4€ up per meter. Very expensive. When I came to Portugal I stoped sowing because of that . Now years later I am just doing small things. But you have inspired me to make cloths again. But it still works out so expensive. You know a zipper is 1.60€ for one . Buttons are over a euro 💶 for one .... 🤦🏼♀️ and treads oooh 3 and more for a color . You are blessed with a beautiful talent . Don’t know how you do the pre- cut fabric to fit your body and then rip it so you can cut the fabric on it . But will watch your other videos ...👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
When are you applying to go on project runway? Seriously you are phenomenally talented! I just subbed a few days ago and have been bingeing all your videos. You are AMAZING 😉👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Hi MS Tabois hru doing, first off I love ur work and I would like u to do a video on how to make this gown I have the pictures of what it looks like as well. How can I send them to u?
just as you said what style you were going for I was thinking the exact same thing . lol I love that color. I know mama will love it. Btw do they make underwire in larger sizes in store or would that be a special order? Places like that stress me out bc I feel like they are trying to rip me off, not all just some.. you did good honey. can't wait for the next video.
First, LOVE your sunglasses.Second, i have to stop watching your fabric shopping, i get so jealous, because i want to buy everything in every store you visit.Hmm. Maybe i should just send you $100 and have you go facetime fabric shoppe for me one day. hehehe.
FYI, I showed how to make the bra cups in the fitting session in my last video. Watch that so you can be up to speed when I release Ep 8 >>>ruclips.net/video/5pgQy-BtaN4/видео.html
This is so neat. I would love to go with you shopping in New York. What an adventure!

I am soooooo excited to see the gown! I love that you are doing plus size garments now
Cant wait to see the dress, well done darling
I do that too, with yarn. I gave stashed yarn then get an idea for a project that uses the polar opposite of the stash.

I am really looking forward to this dress.. Cobalt Blue is my Mom's favorite color as well...
Yeah baby, me encanta esta serie...
OMG!! In my favorite color too! I am so excited and good luck Daniela (I don’t think you’ll need it though, LOL!)
If you need horsehair, they sell it for less on Etsy. I bought $40 yards for $30!
Sil Thread sells zippers & thread less than Pacific & Daytona. 😊
Yup true
Etsy also has the flexible steel boning for cheaper. I got 5yds for $3 if i remember correctly. It's much stronger than the plastic boning.
Hi!! Awesome bargaining. Lol
