This is my favourite of the SNL "American Dream subversion" sketches. From the meticulously pleasant and clean-cut set with cream curtains and pink floral wallpaper to the confused anxiety in the eyes of the leave-raking contestants as they struggle to make sense of their role. Surely someone with THREE Jos in their name couldn't possibly live anything other than a picture-perfect suburban life? Even the way the host impatiently dismisses the viewers at the end with a curt wave and "bye" as he turns back to prey on Mary-Jo Beth JoJo after she's just realised she is the prize. It's surreal and darkly hilarious- and imho SNL at their best.

Exactly. In many ways, I feel like he's the American Tim Curry. He's a brilliant actor, has superb comedic timing, and is effortlessly sexy no matter how terrifying he can be. Plus, every project Bill Hader takes on becomes significantly better just by him being there.

@@Andrea1542 My wife used to watch it 15-20 years ago, and that was always the kind of stuff they had. I used to call it the battered wife channel because seemed like every other movie was about some woman being abused by her husband or boyfriend.
