I have to admit when I saw the title, I thought this was a joke. (Those 2 guys did this as a gag remotely some years back.) Seeing this is a real thing is honestly pretty dang cool! The possibilities this opens up are endless... everything from security to access for any number of limitations.
This is a game changer for elevator technology! Not only is it convenient for not touching elevator buttons because of sanitary reasons. But this is a huge helper when it comes to using elevators if you are in a wheelchair and you have a hard time reaching the buttons like I do sometimes. I hope Otis continues to offer this feature, and I would love to see other elevator company's hop on board with this technology. Whoever came up with this idea they are a genius!
@@jaemre288 yes this would be really good to have in a lot of elevators, like I said before it would also help with accessibility majorly besides sanitary reasons.
Woah that is really cool! Looks like the hand motion sensors and voice and the voice controls were put in as extra measures for Covid but it's still really cool to see!
This elevator remembers me to a feature in my father's Galaxy SII (S2) which we could say "Hi Galaxy" for voice command. Now since the launch of "Ok Google" the S voice has since been unpopular (it is unknown when it was discontinued), also a Chinese automobile industry called Wuling has a similar features in their SUVs. The elevators at a trade center in Jakarta also used to have a third party Indonesian voice command features. Also this feature must not be removed even if the pandemic ends IMO, since it will used for very disabled person who can't operate the elevator even with other (usually standard) ADA compilant features. Also IMO it's nicer if the voiceover uses the ones used in Korean OTIS elevators which says "Thank You" just after saying the floor.
I didn't know this was a thing. Amazing! This could be useful for someone like me who is blind... I know Otis usually has braille in their elavators, but its nice to have options.
WOW, this is cool! Should be interesting to see this in place in more elevators, even after the pandemic. I like the way it has been integrated into the existing 1990's elevator system as well.
@@Nasiens1999 I was wondering the same thing. It seems the unit is separate from the controller and just places the call to the controller. If that's the case, it could probably be used on other elevators.

I couldn't believe it myself! It's a very cool idea.

It's a great idea! I hope we see more of these!

It actually reminds me of Siri the iPhone assistant, but stuck into an Otis. “Hey Otis” pretty neat!
The Otis elevator listens to you!
Say Hey Otis, Casino, say P2, say level floor, or say bottom floor.
Woah that is really cool! Looks like the hand motion sensors and voice and the voice controls were put in as extra measures for Covid but it's still really cool to see!
This is so interesting, especially when the elevator is even in the original controller.
That's neat this can be retrofitted into older models
first time seeing a voice controlled elevator!:)
Asia: Foot pedals that press buttons
America: Alexa Voice commands that activate buttons
I remember seeing this on Otis’s Instagram! I’ve always wanted to see these
This has to be one of the coolest elevators out there!!!

Voice controlled elevators are awesome

It is pretty neat what they did! It's cool to see a real life example.
Sounds it's a bit slow on the receiving end but for the 90s that's pretty awesome.

Hopefully we see more of these! I'm wondering if they can retrofit this into the hydraulics as well.
@@jaemre288 I wonder if this can even be used to retrofit elevators from different brands without having to mod it.

I thought this was going to be one of those prank videos were they had someone calling it from an upper floor but wow this is amazing
It's real for once!
The future of elevators :D
Awesome. Just like the elevators in the movie Gremlins 2.
The chime when it listens remind me of Alexa.
The controller needs to have a Mic that can pick up softer voices.
He didn't even seem to be talking that quietly. Definitely needs improvements.
@@EWPA14 I know and agree
If Alexa was an elevator:
Ok, now THAT is cool!
Makes me wonder if they programmed an Alexa in there
Yeah it's possible!
Judging by the sound effects after you say "Hey Otis" it does sound like an Amazon echo device a.k.a. Amazon Alexa Smart home assistant.
This is cool sadly we don’t have these in the uk
Interesting. 1st actual voice-controlled elevator on YT! It doesn't really seem to work though, & it's probably not going to prevent COVID.
THAT IS SO COOL!
Nice elevator content of the day you did it.❤🎉. 0:13 .
mannnn this is soooo cool!!!
This is really cool
Used for COVID-19
Otis E411!
Wow now that is cool that mustve been put in during covid 19 so people could avoid touching the elevator buttons
Bruh i didn't know that Otis can be a assistant? That's weird?
What is this? Otis elevator with Alexa???
This is not a 1990s Elevator it has a gen 2 voice
Yes this is 1990s elevator the voice was retrofitted in
288elevators, I love voice controlled elevators! Thanks for posting! was this a demonstration?
Yes I had to take a video when I saw this
@@jaemre288 Ok, I Wish I had voice controlled elevators in my school.
A new model for COVID 19
Cool technology!!
Is this Target
it Says Hey Otis
I don’t think the Gen2 voice existed until the mid-2000s
It was added on a couple years ago.
the new generation Alexa
Oh for crying out loud JUST PUSH THE BUTTON!!!!
I was just demonstrating the feature........
Sort of reminded me of the "hello computer" scene in The IT Crowd. Lol
