I’m honestly very surprised how it was still in service after the last shot because this was horrible! Great video! I bet if my brother rode this, he’d be scared out of his mind, I’d be scared out of my mind honestly
A library in my childhood town had a ThyssenKrupp Impulse that has a motor SO LOUD, the staff tried their best to try and reduce as many rides as possible! It wasn’t low on oil or anything, but it was a TERRIBLE type of motor as it vibrates the entire building and makes the lights flicker when it starts going up. The elevator itself was in pretty decent condition tho
Now that it's 2 years later, how is this elevator holding up? And when it was low on fluid (in a rather misbehaving manner), did you by any chance report this elevator problem to anyone, so they could have it replaced?
Another Newer Series 5 that is LOW ON OIL!! Like the Public Storage Place in New York. AWESOME CAVITATION!! Hey Jowevator3219, I think this one beats the Dover Impulse Elevator at a Garage in Sacramento, California. This one's lower 😂😂 This is the LOW ON OIL #1 FIRST PLACE!!
@LittleRockElevators I remembered when i was in a airport in south bend when the elevator somehow fixed and loose oil... They never fix this thing and they need to mod this thing because krupy mods are good for me.
What were the 2 key switches below the fire cabinet? Also interesting that there's no door close button, is there a door close button in the fire cabinet, or do they have to hold the button to close the door.
Wish I could of seen the machine room or at least hear it when its low on oil. When it reached floor M and 2 it was probably bone dry. Also maybe there's an oil leak in the line or the piston.
I wondered what the hydraulic machine looks like during this. Especially the oil tank. Must of been bone dry as at reached the top. Also it must have a bad oil leak if it's that low on oil!
So those last couple times, the oil would affect the elevator starting at M. Is the distance between M and 2 the same as the other floors? It looks like it was a whole floor low.
Well you know the elevator is sounds really good but once you reach level M hold on tight! You’re in for an earthquake! That is so bad and poorly maintained it is unbelievable!
Maybe there's a leaking hydraulic cylinder jack and the library don't care to go through the expense of replacing the hydraulics, and just has more oil added every once in a while when they get complaints of it.
It's sill there, was over there 3 months ago and it's still there, likely not going anywhere since it's still getting new stores and a apartment on the property where Sears was.
@@LocoRails79 Oh. So maybe they are some type of otis lantern which matches the epco lanterns except on the epco lantern is green for up and red for down.
This.....this is.... AMAZING!

Yeah it took them long enough to get out and fix it.
That Rumbling Noise Was Epic

at the first one i was like "woah!" but by the final take before it got fixed i was like "HOW IS THIS THING NOT OUT OF SERVICE ALREADY?!?!?!?!??!?"

I have not ridden it since I moved onto another school. They did fix it in the end, so my guess is it's running like normal.
We all know who will like this

Wow, that is terrible that is the new record for low on oil elevators, guess that one is hydraulic and airdraulic.

What were the 2 key switches below the fire cabinet? Also interesting that there's no door close button, is there a door close button in the fire cabinet, or do they have to hold the button to close the door.
Light and inspection. There is a door close button inside the fire service cabinet.

What do they do in the tech building, Techy stuff, electronics?

This is my first Otis Series 5 elevator is low on oil I ever heard! :D
Me too. This was crazy.
Nah, that’s just me in the bathroom next to the elevator after eating taco bell
But there’s not a bathroom by the elevator.... 🤔
Oh fuck did I poop in the closet again
Go use the elevator with a toilet inside lol

Taco Bell in a nutshell XD
I wondered what the hydraulic machine looks like during this. Especially the oil tank. Must of been bone dry as at reached the top. Also it must have a bad oil leak if it's that low on oil!
Not bone dry as the pump doesn’t take in the oil from the bottom, but I bet the impeller would be splashing oil *EVERYWHERE!*
So those last couple times, the oil would affect the elevator starting at M. Is the distance between M and 2 the same as the other floors? It looks like it was a whole floor low.
M and 2 are only about 8-10 steps apart.

Well someone screwed up if they waited a week to finally put oil in the darn thing!! Hopefully nobody got stuck in there before they fixed it...
I don’t think anyone got stuck, but it must have scared some people!
Did you notify the school about it?
They fixed it in the end.
Where was this located? St Louis?
There's a really good clue in the video actually... (it's Saturday... here's a little adventure for you...)

Worse then the dover elevator at Howard Johnson in Salem VA?
Way worse

@dieselducy, how do you think that elevator is horribly bad shape

What typically causes an elevator to be low on oil
5:15 That sounded like it was about to start a fire! Was it sucking in air?
Yes it was sucking air.
Your school library has multiple floors?
It has 2.
EPIC MOTOR!
yknow except the low oil noises, those are severely unpleasant
It has the typical sounding motor for this type of elevator.
Glad a fan didn't ruin it!

That elevator is REALLY REALLY LOW ON OIL!
I agree
Everybody gangsta until elevator starts to be a bathroom that comes right out of Taco Bell

That jack must have one hell of a leak.
everytime i rode one in sears it was extremly low on oil

Might be something to be low on oil and it was shaking..
That pump was ready to stop working...
@Awesome Will They can only do that if the pump breaks beyond repair.
series 5? regular lantern?
Oh man, that thing sounds terrible! the elevator itself is quite nice though.
It is a nice elevator. This was the only issue I ever saw with it.

This thing was insanely low on oil.
Maybe there's a leaking hydraulic cylinder jack and the library don't care to go through the expense of replacing the hydraulics, and just has more oil added every once in a while when they get complaints of it.
That's always possible.
I do not like how the elevator has to suffer like this being on low on oil.
