Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Everyone makes a vehicle and finds a way to cram the most ridiculous amount of armament on it.
The only requirement is that every weapon in trailmakers must be used on the vehicle. Every single weapon. The number of each type of weapon is up to you as long as you use every type.
This would be a land based challenge as I think that it would be very hard to fit every weapon in trailmakers on a plane.
wouldnt planes be easier for this as you can add weapons above AND below the wing, and even more if you make a biplane or something

Well....I mean theoretically, I want to say it was either Scrapman or Kosmo who tested out if you could fly using the recoil of the mini gun and if it was at all possible to break the sound barrier using the minigun recoil and we all found out that unfortunately after a certain speed, the bullets end up becoming corporeal (exist and able to deal damage) within the actual gun and destroy them. BUT I think Minigun propelled vehicles with different guns to fight with would be fun or just a race with minigun propelled vehicles and it just sucks to be the one in second, third, and fourth (if they get more people on.)

Day 3: Perhabskis one person builds a plane with propulsion and has to pull a glider up into the air. After detaching in the air the plane with propulsion has to land on the glider. Idealy the glider lands on the aircraft carrier or island...

Trailmakers Idea:
1-Minute, 10-Minute, 30-Minute Dogfight or Race
- You have 1 minute to build your initial vehicle.
- After that, you get 10 minutes to upgrade your build.
- Finally, you have 30 minutes for a final upgrade.
Unlike evolution where you upgrade the winning build, in this format, you have to upgrade your own build throughout the stages.

As someone who quite often builds thrust-vectoring VTOLs - no specific "Move forward" thruster, only use logic and sensors for movement - having too many servos in a build means, generally, that they start clipping, which servos REALLY dont like to do. Try using hinges, or giving more space between the body and the moving parts, and it should be more stable.

Perhapskis you could have stuck all the props on the back with a steering hinge to control forward/backward movement. Keep the main body level for easier aiming.
I have to say, the drones look really cool. I think both ScrapMan and Yzuei have improved their building skills considerably over the time of playing together.
Perhapskis you are also all confused on why the propellers are at an angle

Also- I still want to see a spacecraft with a reactor that needs to vent, to avoid overheating. Other option is to eject the (now unstable) core, losing access to primary thrust, main weapons & shields.

I have a real challenge for you.
Who can build the best quadcopter using four engines (any you choose) and NO gyros.
You need to control pitch, roll and yaw by asymmetrical thrust or tilting / rolling the engines.
I doubt you'll even read this comment, but perhapskis you will.
Multi-player Monday Idea: Fighters and Tanks
2 teams, each with 1 fighter plane and 1 tank.
Fighters get air-to-air and bombing weapons.
Tanks get cannons and anti-air weapons.
Objective: Last team standing wins.

3:40 I think one of the updates broke the servos, I was working on a creation literally an hour ago with two servos on top of each other and I got this same jolting, even if I spaced them like 5 units or something. Interesting design tho we love you scrap.

Trailmakers (or SM) idea: Switcharoo Racing. Build Racecars, but you share your creations with each other and do multiple races where everyone uses the same creation. That way you could either build a "normal" car and rely on your driving skill to win or you could build some secret feature into your creation that only you know how to deal with. (Although it might be more interesting if you get a short amount of time to test each others creation before each race, like 30-60 seconds)
You should try making the PaTS wheel its very interesting concept

I made a quad copter not that long ago using the tail rotor in trailmakers, cool to see their takes on it tho
if you put the props on servos that tilt forward and back but have the keybindings different to pitching forward and back you can move around while stable but also still be able to pitch the hull up and down
Perhapskis you could do a hover craft battle with the tail copter instead of the hover pad
Plane based baton relay. Use magnets or those grabby blocks to hand off a baton on a 3 lap air circuit. The planes have to be able to grab and release multiple times. Get 2 or 4 more friends in on it for a competition.

Whatever happened to your first build has happened to me a couple times too since the Rescue Update. I never saw any duplicate blocks, like at 3:48, but my builds exhibited that same "disconnected" behavior seen at 2:35. The only thing I can think of that might have triggered it is that I was copying and moving around a lot of blocks one of those times, so I think they may have accidentally added a variation of the "floating block" glitch that somehow doesn't require detachable blocks

the glitchyness you had i dont why but ive tried building something similar with propellers and trailmakers really doesnt seem to like 4 seperate modules for control it spawned stable a couple times but never stayed stable my solution ended up being dropping it to 3 instead of 4 and it then worked no problem

Idk if you read these but you should do a community challenge where you and yzuei have your community make fighters on land, sea, and in the air (1 of each) and then battle with them, have them submit it to the workshop under something distinctive.
You could use your old design with some logic to only tilt certain props when you want so you can be a normal quadcopter or a fancy schmancy one. Depending on the needs that arise at any given moment.
Here’s an idea, make fighter drones, but you have to have a gyro stabilized gun, the only form of propulsion comes from tail propellers and regular propellers

fun fact: you can use a curved tube, a steering hinge, and another curved tube for a 1 x 3 equivelant to a rotating servo (up to 90 degrees)

(something that spins quick enough to go up or down)
Idea : Hydro Airships (a proper term might exists)
Only water based propulsion, and only inflatable parts (and potentially lift wings ?) to stay above the water (no relying on buoyancy alone).
That'd lead to some unique designs with wanting to be in the water to be able to move, but wanting enough inflatable parts to stay mostly out of it. Plus the consequences of losing blocks and risking flying away from the water !
Hey scrap man you should ask the dev's of trail maker if they can add a ammo block for more interesting battles, like a battery for the blaster or a missile bay for the rocket launcher but it will have a little cost like for the battery it takes a power core to have it on the build and you guy's are all ways running out of ammo so I'll leave it to you, but I love your videos scrap 😁
Asking scrapman to play Space Engineers again. It fits very neatly into this channel and has a lot of similarities to trailmakers in the building department.

Idea: Triathlon death-race. 1 vehicle w 3 engines total to race across land, in the air, and on or under the sea. 1 weapon, maybe cycle through like y'all have done before?

You guys need to really try dropping the TNT and going all in with like 5 EMP's. They can deal damage, but they won't if it's just 1 of them. 5 of them going off will deal damage. 20 of them hitting is like a large cannon hitting, with the janked controls. Perhapskis do an EMP heavy battle, not so much 1 gun and a TNT, but like you have to destroy each other utilizing EMP's.

Idk how it would work in trailmakers but maybe try to make battle mechs with mechanical legs or some type of robotic beast battles where you build a fish with guns or something
Here’s an idea: what if you battle with drones with only one block with thrust? Something like just a single gimbal, a single tail rotor, something like that.

You should do a dogfight where the only limitation being that the plane has to at least be able to break the sound barrier
4 (6? 8?) Props drone swarm battle. Same number of single-prop drones connected by the not-a-rope-connectors (invisible), and perhaps half of them armed? Should be a challenge to make them fly and controllable AND make for great visuals during the fight.
Am I missing context? Where did perhapskis come from???

You coulda made a stabilizer for the gun so when you aim the thingy down the gun goes up with an and gate it coulda also had an on and off switch. Is it on marketplace?

I got an Idea for ya Scrapman. 1v1 Attack helicopter vs Anti Air. Both OP. You build a chopper vs somebody's AA. Go for time. Then switch sides. Your AA vs. enemy Attack chopper.
