      Well they hold the power for about two or three runs and then have to dump 10 grand into fixing them. 😂. Yes of course I'm jealous but I'm just saying. I'd have to work another full-time job just for the repairs.

    Thanks for sharing so much data. Were the air temp sensors the fast acting type? On the fuel only run, do you think 200f before the charge cooler is accurate at those boost levels? I know turbos have become far more efficient in recent times but it still sounds awfully low?

      I believe they have 2 intercoolers and that reading is after the main cooler. Physics says 100deg compression in a single stage is going to be 700f+ even at 100% efficiency.

    How long do you have to wait between dyno runs at those power levels ?

      30-45min, it usually takes that long to scan through the data and make a decision on changes for next pass

    Just a thought…
    What’s the engineering idea behind the boost pipe coming into the manifold so oddly?
    Like most manifolds that style, the boost pipe would come in the front and have a “tapered” plenum.
    Where this comes in, blows the air into a wall then gets the the runners… probably better distribution, but terrible flow… 🤔

      On the S10 we had a front entrance tapered intake and we seemed to get too much air to the back cylinders. We could maybe have fixed that with more of a taper, never really had a chance to try that. Some of the reason we went this route on the car was because of hood clearance but the idea was to make the air crash and disperse better. Definitely still a work in progress. Before we added the intercooler it seemed we were maybe overloading the center cylinders with air even with a deflector. Some of the reason for doing the intercooler in the intake was to help with equalizing air flow.

      @@lynmiller8352 I always wondered how those front inlet tapered plenums didn’t just funnel all the air to the rear… evidently they do just that. lol.
      That’s why I asked.
      I assumed you guys wanted to have indirect airflow mainly to only pressurize the plenum rather than worry about the flow path and restriction.
      Makes sense and I love when people use their brains. You guys know your stuff… Nice job! 👍

    On the fuel only run- 86 pounds of boost and pre-intercooler temp of only 207 degrees. What is cooling the charged air between the turbo outlet and the intercooler?

      The pre intercooler temperature was measured 2 in before the intercooler core, then measured again right after the intercooler core, so turbo Outlet temperature cooled through 4 ft of titanium pipe before it reached the intercooler, I'm sure there was residual temperature drop from the cold air to water intercooler pre cooler

    That's how the big and small cam Cummins work on injector pressure they would run a stiffer spring inside the pt pump for higher pressure and use the 178a 7 hole injector nozzles and retard the timing to 87* so you don't hurt the engine you can advance them to buy it wasn't easy cause you'd do it with the cam followers some of the small cams had multiple slotted cam gear but I understand what I'm talking about is mechanical and your stuff is electronical

      The weather station is on, so yes, usually runs half to 1% correction on a 50* winter/spring day at 800ft elevation.
