You talk like as if family is defined by numbers. As if having kids is like having a car with upkeep. You don't "acquire" kids bc you're financially capable but rather you can compromise. Emotional and financial stability is a false guarantee of a good family that post-modernist society is trying to impose which fails my material family (They were able to raise their kids, including my mom, into a well-educated person bc they can "afford" and my maternal grandparents are not just financially able but also emotionally). Wisdom is the most important.
Your point is valid but think about how many people in China and India are living way below the poverty line. When you have an overabundance of workers, businesses can get away with offering lower wages because of supply and demand. Balance lang dapat. Let people be. Most of them will have kids and some will not. Ideally maintain lang dapat ang population na sustainable both sa economy and environment ^^

My father was a pedicab driver (sidecar boy), my mother is a highly street smart woman. Then my father, unfortunately, died when I was 10 leaving 4 kids still studying, not 1 has finished school that time. My mother almost sold her soul to the devil just to make sure we live. When I was in college, my brother and sister had babies without finishing school. My mother had to carry the burden of raising grandkids because the father of my sister's kid was a dick. My brother on the other hand was able to finish a vocational course and started earning minimum wage, it got better, but it was never enough. Guess where we all lived? Yes, under one roof. I went through the final year of high school without electricity. Our roof had fist size holes, which meant that we had artificial waterfalls inside our unfurnished house. When I finished college, I was severely underpaid and yet overworked and overstressed. Things are getting better for us all, even for my mom. But it's still far from comfortable. And now you have the audacity to tell us to have children in this godforsaken country where the only ones who actually get better lives are syndicate members, porn stars, those who are willing to make a fool of themselves on camera and those who are willing step on other people with fraudulent businesses. Not to mention, most of the politicians here sold their souls to the devil. You want me to pass on the miseries I had, my detest in life, to another child? You can observe also in nature that "happiness" is not a fact of life but tragedy. DINKs are selfish bc they can't compromise their own happiness for others (meaning a child). They just want to take all of their labor for themselves as a "drug" to deny the fact of life. They excuse themselves from tragedy by sustaining a consumerist lifestyle and having a child would compromise that.
