Hi Rollso. This evening I decided to do another sunset shoot but this time using my smaller PANASONIC HC V500 because I wanted to make use of the zoom which is 50x. The quality and results are still extremely good. Panasonic now do the V520 which I am to understand has great improvements. The 720 of course will be so much better. It all depends on what you want to use it for, but I like to use both the 500 and 920.
The colour and brightness quality is certainly the best I have seen so far within a camcorder. the wattage you are talking of will look quite pretty adequately bright and colourful, whether you decide to use it in Ai (Automatic Intelligent Mode) or manual mode. i have found that I can use it with very low mood lighting like table lamps and it gives the whole picture a very warm effect just like you would see at the movies.
Nice vid Geoff i live in Birchington. Seriously thinking of getting the x-920 ive been impressed with what ive seen. Cheers keep uploading enjoy your vids. Cheers Andy.
thank you very much geoff,i'm more into live band recording, and now i'm trying to use the panasonic 920 to record the live performances, sunday was the first time i have use the 920,by the way the music is also relaxing.
Wow! you were quick, I've only just uploaded the film. Yes, The camera is well worth considering. The more you use it the more artistic you become. Have you checked the other two films I have recently uploaded. Thanks Andy for the good comment. Cheers Geoff
Sorry Rollso, I forgot to mention about the zoom on the 920 which is only x12 and in most cases is adequate, but it will let you use 25x which is sort of a hybrid and doesn't leave any rough edges and certainly looks far better than normal digital zoom from other camera's. I have found that if I need to go in closer than12x then anything up to 18x is reasonably sharp, and 25x is also pretty reasonable too. I will say I am glad I now own the Camera as it has something very special about it.
Hi Rollso. Well I already own a Panasonic HC V500 which has a 50x zoom and great optical image stabilizer. The 920 has so much more including the 3 mos sensor which really brings out the colours both day and night. If you know of somewhere that has a lot of coloured night lights you will find that instead of the bleached out white light that is common on camera's this will bring out great colours. The V720 is still an extremely good camera and well worth considering depending on your budget.
Hi Rollso. First I would like to appologise for the mistake I have made. At first I could not understand what you meant untill I took a closer look and Yes I now see very clearly what you mean. you have drawn my attention to a very stupid mistake. The Actual Camera I have been using is a Panasonic HC X920, my previous camera was a JVC and I guess I kept getting into the habit of putting JVC. Thank you for noticing that. I will update all future uploads with the correct Camera. Cheers Geoff Dean.
Hi Geoff. It's interesting, I'll be waiting for your video. Yes, the V720 is very good quality for a low price, but I like X920 with a wider color palette and clearer image. It would be ideal to see the same scene, but with two cameras.
Well I believe that the 720 is a pretty good camera in many ways and uses and very much like my V500. I do find that in low light it doesn't handle anywhere near as good as the X920. What is one of the best things about the 720 is the zoom is greater, but I don't really find it too much of a problem, and if I really need to get that close then I make good use of the V500. Hope you get joy with your upgrade, I'm certain you will.
Just picked up my X920 in new york the other day. Price in UK 700 pounds , price in new york, 450 pounds. Been using an SD900 for last 3 years and thought it had excellent picture quality, What a difference even from the SD to the 920. Looked at the various reviews of cameras side by side and just couldnt warrent the additional cost for the cost, and for 450 poounds, it was an easy decision. Anyone looking for an upgrade camera, the X920 just cant be beaten for price and quality. I used to swear by Sony and have had 6 sony cameras through the years, but panasonic really ahve the edge at the moment. However this is just my humble opinion.
I Really have no Idea as to which is the best Camera, but I would say it's worth checking as many RUclips uploads as you can on both Camera's. Good Luck.
Well, it's ok. Geoff, I have a dilemma, I do not know which to choose Panasonic HC-V720 (cheaper, zoom: 21x, iZoom 50x) or Panasonic HC-X920 with excellent image quality, but zoom 12x. My old SONY (DSR-SR82 /60GB) with 25x optical zoom, but for me it's also was not enough. One thing I still find so very difficult to understand, will be enough for me X920 with zoom 12x? (sorry for my bad English, I'm from Ukraine).
Hi Enzo. My apologies. It should read that the camera I am using is a Panasonic and not a JVC. I had not long had this camera and mistakenly put JVC without thinking as I use to use a JVC. I have rectified all new uploads. Sorry for the confusion.
enzo de novellis I have rectified the problem in a way by using the youtube annotations which I have placed over the area. It's not perfect but hopefully will now give the correct information.

Hi Tomas. Yes, you are correct and I have made a daft mistake, I have since corrected it for any future uploads. Well done for noticing.

Geoff, thank you for your response. How do you think about the color quality X920 indoors (3-6 energy-saving bulbs 20W each (total 3600-7000 Lumen))?
Well, it's ok.
