Thank you specifically to Erik Revier! Видеоклипы
You understand Voivod. You belong to the fewest of the few.
Welcome to the masters of sci-fi metal!!!
No there’s only one voivod
That’s all we get
And that’s all we need.
Voivod are influenced by a ton of different bands and styles, this song is from 1988 and is quite thrashy and prog, they were such pioneers and innovators of various metal styles, really great band and great song, to get an idea of today´s sound try the song called "Kluskap O'kom", not as intrincated as Tribal Convictions but still very good
One of the most unique metal bands ... you wont hear another like them. This album and the next 2 or 3, were groundbreaking and just fantastic!
Yo I’m so happy you were into this. Voivod were insanely innovative especially for their time when this was released in 1988. Listen to the rest of this album, Dimension Hatröss.
Nothingface is my favorite album of theirs. The cover of Astronomy Domine on there is one of the best cover songs ever.
Fun Facts (confirmed by the video's assistant director):
- It was shot on Super 8 film at the band's rehearsal space
- The "are there any forces" section makes use of the band's earlier video, Ripping Headaches
Brilliant art on a shoestring budget.
Cool reactions with keen observations. I say this as a Voivod fan from the 1980s who finally saw them in 2024.
Voivod Psychic Vacuum is the companion song and video.
They were doing this well before the big four , legends
Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax all formed in 1981, one year before Voivod did. Yikes!
I always saw VOIVOD as a hybrid of Metsl crossed with King Crimson. Piggy had a serious Robert Fripp thing going on with the diminished chording and such. KC and other stuff like Yes and Rush were big influences as well as Van Der Graaf Generator, who drummer AWAY is a HUUUUUUUUGE fan of.
Loves this shit since it came out. Watching you enjoying it strangely revamped my love for Voivod. Thank you Sir!
so ahead of their time. great to see them getting their due more lately.
Thank you for this reaction, you brought me back to when this came out, I was completely amazed and weirded out at the same time. Please listen to the whole album 10 times in a row, this is a masterpiece. Voivod left a major imprint on music today, it's a highly influential band, a band for bands.
Nuclear space metal.
One of the first songs I air-guitared to when I was a kid. Mindblowing stuff. Love your channel! Reacting to loads of great stuff I can see. Will recommend stuff when I've got the time. Cheers.
They did influence about every band on the planet ;)
FANTASTIC REACTION!! When I first discovered Voivod with Dimension Hatross I was blown away! 'How do they know how to do that?!?' Hope to see more! Thanks
Welcome to Morgoth, my friend! You think that was nuts? Listen to the rest of the record! I DARE YOU! ^_~ Cheers, mate!
Great heartfelt review, man. Now you know what, youj're hooked forever. Listen to the whole Dimension Hatross album. Then Nothingface. The Killing technology. Then The Wake. Then all the others in any order.
Best ending to a track
Voïvod are Gods!
Estrum - Abiosis
Estrum - Yours
Estrum - The Game
Estrum - All I Need
You were head banging right after you said you couldn't ..............Too funny! And very little Ozzie and Black Sabath... ;-)
I hope you had time to dig a little more in Voivod's music. Every album is very different, and every song on any album is a masterpiece.
Let me add that Dimension Hätross is nothing less than a monument of Prog-thrash, and even of Heavy Metal. This album should be listened from start to end to be appreciated as it should!
Who's thegod. Who's the dog..
RIP Piggy
1987 - Killing Technology
1988 - Dimension Hatröss
1989 - Nothingface
Must be listen. I prefer 1987 - its more metal than prog :)
I heard this song when I was 14 and loved it. Check out their other albums, Nothing Face, Outer Limits, Angel Rat, The Wake. Unique band.
Nice. Voivod made a cover of Pink Floyd. Astronomy domine.
If you think the song is great read the lyrics
Powerful stuff.
And the use of linguistics with the meaning of the whole theme of the album
Good lord.
So many tripped out visions listening to this
You need to listen Missile Sequences, is great.
Countless Skies - Solace
They definitely make you use your brain don't they?
Like a lot here, I was into punk/thrash/metal back in the mid 80s and Voivod didn't sound like anything else. A truly original band. I describe them to people as the Rush of space thrash/metal.
Klone - Immersion
I would like to know you opinion about their son ´´Chaosmongers'´ ...
Minora - Mountain
Their best song imo. If you like this type of music, listen to Doom from Japan
Please, react to this awesome video called "Iconspiracy", on their 14th studio album called "The Wake": ruclips.net/video/hCuSHngMy-g/видео.html
