EXPLORING BARCELONA, SPAIN ON BIKES // 3 Days in Barcelona // Family Travel Vlog // 4k

Stop three of our European summer vacation is 3 days in Barcelona, Spain. We arrived on the holiday “Sant Joan” and the streets were alive with people. We found a street party with food, drinks and live music so naturally we took part.
The Revetlla de Sant Joan is one of the most celebrated of the Barcelona fiestas. It commemorates the start of summer and the traditional way of doing this is by lighting bonfires and fireworks……all night long apparently!
Our hotel had bikes available for rent so we decided it would be a quick and convenient way to see the city. The temperatures were very hot (33-35) and the breeze the bikes provided was welcome relief while seeing the wonderfully, beautiful sights and attractions. We highly recommend seeing the city this way and there are plenty of electric options available.
We found amazing tapas bars and a fabulous restaurant on the beach where we stopped for a tasty seafood lunch.
One of the highlights was our visit to see the Sagrada Familia, one of Barcelona's iconic symbols, a Basilica designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi. This attraction has been under construction since 1882.
One of the biggest challenges facing the construction and why Sagrada Familia Was Never Completed was funding. The church relied on donations from the public, and the Spanish Civil War disrupted fundraising efforts. In addition, changes to the design of the church over the years also slowed down construction.
