That was very helpful, thank you a bunch! Maybe you know if we want to have a day trip to Blanes and a day trip to Monserrat, which ticket will work for us? As T-casual for 4 zones costs a lot .... Thank you in advance!

I'm going to Barcelona this weekend and your videos have been really helpful, thanks! Do you know if I can get a t-usual as a tourist? I saw that they demand an id, would a french id work or just a passport (if it even works for a tourist). Thank you so much :)
@aghatarowena6312, French ID or passport would work, no problem. Besides, in the couple of times per month that I run into people checking all the tickets when you are exiting a metro station, they only checked whether the ticket I had was valid and validated. So far, in more than 10 years, they never asked my ID to check if it matches the number on the ticket. Probably they are more strict if you have one of those reduced fee tickets for elderly or people with disabilities, but for T-Usual, I was never asked. What do you mean by, if you can do it in the metro "bornes", like the other tickets?
Thank you for your great video. We are arriving at Barcelona Airport T1. Thinking of getting the shuttle to T2 but interested to know how easy is it to find a machine to buy card for the T-Familiar or a T-Casual each depending on how many trips we will be making? I have read there is a train that goes to Sants Station, is it easy enough to find when we arrive on the shuttle from T1 and we can use these T cards on this train? We would then transfer to the Metro to get to Verdaguer. From T2 via train then metro is it one trip or two? Thanks
In the train stations or metro stations you will find the machines. Yes train from terminal 2 easy to find and you can use the same cards. Is only 1 trip all you can do in 75mins since first validation.
This has been very helpful! I clicked on the link for the metro map and it came up with an error. I'm particularly interested in the funicular and aerial tram on Mont Mujuic (the port cable car is totally different right?).
Great video. :D Thank you. Let me ask where can I find a map about zones (if I buy a t-usual)? It is very difficult to separate the zones, I found different maps. :)
Thanks for this helpful video. A question please: 1) Can the T-usual (30 days) and T-casual be used on the Aerobus from City Centre to El Prat Airport?
Hello, im travelling to barcelona this week. I stay for 3 days. i may do 10-15 trips over all including airport transfer. Which one is better for me ? T-Casual or 3 day Pass. Please note that i will be travelling from airport to/from my hotel by bus (I think L43). Will the T-Casual cover this bus transfer from airport? and which option is best for me? Thanks in advance
I still have a question: if I pay with a contactless bank card when entering, I noticed in your video that you mentioned I shouldn’t tap it again when exiting. I’m wondering, how do they calculate how much to charge me if they don’t know how far I’ve traveled?
Hola! Thanks a lot for the video. It is very helpful and explained a lot to me. When visiting Barcelona I would like to buy a T-usual ticket because it is more economical for me. However, I don't have a passport because I travel using an Polish ID card. Is this enough to buy T-usual?
I'm looking for a super-easy + no fail experience. I'm assuming that's the Hola Barcelona card (5 days in my case). Our hotel is closer to the airport.
Hello! Thanks so much! Let me know if I understood correctly: We booked an apartment in Calella, so at the airport, in terminal 2, I can buy a T-familiar for zone 5 and get from the airport by train? No need to buy a separate ticket from the airport to the city (5.50)? And as far as I understood, there is no direct train to Calella, I will have to change trains at Sants - will this count as another trip? Airport - Sants, Sants - Calella? Is this transfer included in the 75-minute allowed change of transport? Thanks in advance!
Hi! From the airport terminal 2 you can take the R2. Then you will have to combine to R1 Calella. This way you don't need to buy the airport ticket because t-familiar allows you to travel by train from airport. And if you buy for zone 4 I think for Callela, yes you can get there with the same ticket :) awesome!!
Actually, if you are just planning to pass through Barcelona, with little or no use of metro/buses; I'd recommend considering the Renfe Abono recurrente for 10 euros per person (you can't share), which gives you unlimited rides in all Renfe commuter trains in all 6 zones of Rodalias de Barcelona. This might be cheaper than the T-familiar for 5 zones depending on how many you are, and it would give you the option to travel to nearby towns such as Blanes (+ bus to Lloret de Mar), Mataro, etc with the train essentially for free. You can buy this ticket at the machines at the train station in terminal 2. When you change trains in Sants, you don't need to exit the ticket controlled area, you just need to switch platforms (very likely from platform 13/14 to platform 9/10 iirc), so the 75 minute window doesn't matter. And as long as you don't exit the ticket controlled area for a McDonald's breakfast or checking out the sunglasses they have on offer at Parfois, it won't count as a separate trip. But if you exit the ticket controlled area, even within the 75 minute window, it WILL count as another trip when you re-enter. (with metro and Renfe it counts every time you scan your ticket. the 75 minute window is for switching from metro to bus/tram/train or from bus to another bus/tram/metro/train) If you buy the Abono, you don't care, since it allows unlimited* rides. What happens with the train is from time to time there will be a Renfe worker on board the trains checking everybody's ticket to see if it allows you to be in the zone you are currently in. And more importantly, when you are exiting the train station in Calella or Sants etc, you need to scan your ticket again to open the sliding doors, and if your ticket doesn't have the required zones, you will be stuck in the station or you will have to try to piggy back with someone else exiting and hope that you won't get noticed by security or station manager. If you decide to buy the Abono and later want to visit Barcelona and use the metro/buses/etc, you can buy a T-familiar for a single zone.
Good stuff! the only thing what i now want to know is; how tot get the t usual, becouse for that i need to upload an id number and trough the tmb site, mine id (from the netherlands) does not seem to work. Hope you can give me an answer
