Robot, I will never buy a bike in your store, as I live in Berlin, Germany. But I very much appreciate your videos and your expertise, which is invaluable.
I have a BMW C Evolution electric scooter and I'm loving it. My big K1600GTL has not moved an inch while the scooter has logged 5100 miles in less than 4 months. It is a maxi scooter and costs double the Vespa but I do get about 100 miles of range and can get up to 85mph. So because it has much better utility, performance between the Zero DS and DSR and built-in Level 2 charging, some level of weather protection and a reverse mode that's easier to access than the Elettrica. Stoplight drag races are easily won by the C Evolution. I would get the Elettricca if I lived in a city. The small form factor makes it better for urban riding and parking. Coffee shop posing is a Vespa forte.

I love everything about it except two (2) things - it doesn't have enough Speed (needs to go at least 60 MPH), and not enough range. I'm going for the Zero Electric Motorcycle. Thanks for the great review.
Hopefully they release one day a 150 equivalent, or even better, a 300 equivalent. A 50 equivalent for the price of a gas 300 just seems pointless. Good review though!
Piaggio back in November 2019 released a new version of the Elettrica with a top speed of 70 km/h (43 mph). That makes it a lot safer to drive on many of the wider main streets in the USA.
the best enviroment for this vespa are busy european cities with narrow streets and lot of traffic, i'm waiting my vespa elettrica to be delivered and i'm very happy, but if i lived in american suburb (wich implies long trips in arterial roads) i would not recomend it.
I'm not looking for 80 MPH, but a true 50 MPH would be great. That would allow me to keep up with traffic on 45 MPH posted roads. I'd pay $7,500 for that, but not for 30 MPH. That would be pretty much a hazard where I live.
go for NIU GT scooter.. I tested it .. it goes 78 kmh in worst conditions full trhrottle 80 km range and more. Price is about 4500 euro, but Its the last thing u buy for going around the city
20:30 the auxiiary battery, for what i've understood, its used to power the screen and other electronics and its charged with a dynamo; if it runs out of power the vespa wont start, even if the main battery is full.
I have reverse on my electric scooter (a Chinese one called UGBEST Romex) and I wouldn't want one without it. I use it every day. I park my scooter in a bicycle room, and it's a steep slope to the door. I go reverse up that slope and park as close to the door as possible because there are many bicycles inside and basically no place else to park the scooter. Without the reverse mode it would be very hard to push it up that slope and going forwards isn't much of an option either. So, at least I appreciate the reverse mode. And mine does not beep! :)
Would love a electric scooter with power of bv350 here in Australia want to ride must have motorcycle license, and no reduction in registration charges
Great information my friend! Does this scooter have enough space to accomodate a second rider in the back? I own 4 e-bikes that will go max 23 MPH and i am tempted to purchase a Vespa!
Yes it does. It's the same size as the sprint/primavera. It will be a bit more cramped than the 300, but I imagine you won't be going on long treks with a passenger on an electric scooter. Though a bit under powered for the size and weight, it's probably one of the more luxurious E-Scooters out there!
I like a lot that you can remove the underseat storage and wash it! Those aren't air tight you know and when the trees and flowers bloom there will be a lot of pollen inside.. It was not nice when I had a scooter at the age of 15.
Very easy to balance with the low center of gravity, especially the smaller 150s and the Electtrica. Have you considered the Sprint or Primavera 150? That would be my first recommendation, unless you are dead set on electric.
Ariel N my first was a 150; keep in mind the gross weight. Mine's about 250 lbs and it can be a handful if it starts to tip over and there' no way I could lift the back, but I am not a weight lifter either
We have 230 volts in Europe, not 220 (I think Russia has 220 though, not sure). My country switched from 220 to 230 in 1989, that is thirty years ago, and people still say 220, which annoys me a little… 😄

I'm a huge fan of your videos and reviews, but the price of this scooter is a joke that only hits up to 31mph. For that, this scooter should be priced at $2,500
Newer technology always costs a premium, but overtime this reduces down. Some people are happy to pay extra to be at the cutting edge of technology. Look at the first Tesla Roadster, vs the cost of the new model 3. Look at the price of the first iPad, vs the cheapest iPad you can buy now.
Need more for tech people. The Voltage , the AH of the battery, the weight are they samsung cells or from China? Thanks for letting us know its wattage.
4.2kwh for the battery, LG Chem. Not sure on AH, or voltage, but it’s completely separated from the 12v system that runs the dash, lights etc. Motor is 4kw peak (for 30 seconds at a time), then 3.5kw continuous for the 28mph version, and 3.6kw continuous for the 43mph version.
Order it now, you might get it in 6 months. By the time most scooter shops get significant inventory, it'll be 2020. Inventory for scooters is very different than cars. Some scooter shops currently have brand new '16 and '17 bikes for sale. Car dealerships can move old inventory easier by reducing prices. The margins are so small on scooters, it's not worth it to sell them at a huge discount.
Horsepower, according to Wikipedia: ”Two common definitions being used today are the mechanical horsepower (or imperial horsepower), which is about 745.7 watts, and the metric horsepower, which is approximately 735.5 watts.” That means that 4kW is either 5.44 or 5.36 horse-powers. Is one of these what is referred to in this video as ”American horse-powers”?

No, they are not. They are fixed in place. The NIU scooters do have removable batteries (one under the floor and one under the seat). This makes the floor higher which isn’t as comfortable, and they also don’t have storage space, whereas the Vespa has a nice under seat compartment - so there’s pros and cons!

The market for this is purely city based. It’s targeting customers who want more than electric bicycle has to offer. In congested cities, top speed is mostly irrelevant - especially in places where filtering is legal.

Our governments are telling us that we need to drastically reduce our carbon foot print for future generations and our country appears to be doing its bit, but Trump in the States thinks its all bollocks and it's China that's to blame. That's another story. I can only see this scooter as a rental within a city much like electric bikes. The price is insane as is the range. No one mentions just how much pollution is emitted into the atmosphere just to make this battery which is probably made in China hence the reason that they get the blame for polluting our world. If electric bikes and scooters are our future, then the "Mad Max" scenario is for real. I didn't realise how screwed up your road system is over there, so many "Stop" signs it would drive me insane. It’s got 2 rear brakes (drum plus the electric motor regen), and the weight is towards the rear so the braking is actually really good. Drum brakes offer advantages over disc brakes. They stay a lot cleaner, and they reduce dust around the motor. It’s also extremely rare to get anything stuck between the friction materials (as can sometimes happen with disc brakes).

Don't buy it, then. Problem solved.
@@johnnyrosenberg9522 Nope. I'm just saying it is overpriced as hell.
I'd be better off getting a high quality electric mountainbike for $4k that has a range of 120 miles
No kidding
Drumbrakes on a $7500 bike UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!
Well it regenerates so might not need as powerful brakes..
@@K1989L I know but still...
I’d never buy this overpriced slow Vespa ! Love how it looks but an NIU NQI PRO is not that bad looking… cheaper, longer range and faster !
just get a chines bike.
the ones that start fires?
