It's made using a tool. A person goes frame-by-frame to plan movement and jumps. It takes a while to do this but it's worth seeing the cool run.

MoltovMarioWorld was one of my favorited let's players.
He actually made this rom hack and many other rom hacks.
If anyone knew what happened, Moltov actually just simply quit let's playing and moved onto speedrunning.
Let's see this in Mario Maker.
I doubt they'll keep glitches such as the wall jump glitch or the 'pick up 2 items in 1' glitch. And even if they didn't patch it, there are no apps on Wii U to slow down the game to a frame by frame speed, so they'd have to be almost superhuman and have the best hand-eye co-ordinantion to complete it. But long story short, not possible, or improbable.

Andy Shick It's still possible, just highly improbable. Tool-Assisted Speedruns are possible because most of them that don't break it (I say don't break because I saw one TAS where they literally connected the Twitch chat to the SNES), are just slowing the game down to one frame at a time so they can choose what buttons to press in a superhuman speed. So it's possible, but almost impossible

1. this is a tas. a tas is a tool assisted speedrun, and as the name implies, the speedrunner uses tools such as slowdown, savestates, or editing key inputs frame by frame.
2. this is a romhack. this isnt in the original game of super mario world.
i mean, stuff like this appears on Mario Maker, right? it requires an insane amount of IQ

It's a 'Tool Asssisted' run, basically the level is played 1 frame at a time on an emulator and each input is recorded, so the player can go to specific frames and get the exact timing of a jump, spin or whatever...in to survive.

Meaning, a human figured out what inputs would complete the level, and a computer used those inputs to do so.
(in a nutshell)
I call BULLSHIT. This was not done via human. I want to see a duo screen of them playing alongside it. Prove it.

+Justin Hackstadt This is actually a Tool-Assisted Speedrun, where emulator tools, such as save states, frame-by-frame playing, etc. Main purpose of TASes are to entertain players with what is technically possible (and in cases like this ROM hack humanly impossible), and such, because everything here could be done in real console but it requires such precise inputs so no such run will ever happen. And this ROM hack is mainly just a challenge for TAS creator to complete it, there are many many more hacks like this out there. Unfortunately the video uploader didn't seem to have knowledge of these kind of things, so he just saw this video and uploaded it like "OMG HARDEST MARIO LEVEL EVER". Hopefully this helps :)

Actually..... I've beaten this. It's called savestate looping. Go so far, automatic savestate. You die, it goes back to the savestate. However, it looks fluid in recording because the person edits out the mistakes, going from one savestate to another savestate. A lot of people do that in difficult games.
There's no way anyone pulled off this kinda play. Gotta be a work of animation done using the code for Super Mario World. Still an awesome video!!

You can tell by how Mario's movements are slightly studdered that this is fake. Also, someone could just as easily have programmed a computer to run through the level perfectly

2. Look up Pit of Panga: U-break, and recognise that you can't TAS Super Mario Maker and that Panga had to complete it to upload it.
3. Look up Super Mario Maker: The Final Trial. Far harder than both U-break and this level. Again, someone had to beat that to upload it.
Termin DBS I was pointing out even trickier levels which certainly weren't TAS, as opposed to this one which could have been TAS.

I'm usually stoic when playing video games, completely silent, although I breathe heavily when I'm frustrated, but this level would break me. I'd yell at the screen and toss my controller.
