The only thing I'll say as a FACT, Mr. Heretic, is that Nyango Star saved a Prefecture from bankruptcy and obscurity by bringing notoriety to that prefecture due to the apples they grow there. We really shouldn't care about who is inside the costume, and more about what their ability has done to save an entire Prefecture from extinction. Outside of that.. everyone should go out today and have eat an apple and pet a cat! 😁

I read a few Japanese articles about him. They all mention a drummer of a local band from the same prefecture as Nyango. They say the information is not definite but most likely. His picture is also included. He looks kinda like X Japan members (big hair and makeup), and his name is supposed to be Yoshiki, too.
Nyango is a living legend the first time i ve Seen His/Her overqualified video i think OK that drum is to big for the show... then the rest is history i really love how he/she plays that Drums who is in that Disguise? It dosent matter what indeed matters is the art that this person is doing

Okay, people seem to be a bit confused when they think about who's in the costume. We need to read about it if we want to have opinions. These mascots represent colectives, they have no identity on their own, by design. Nyango Star is Kuroichi, a village that was devastated by 2011's tsunami, and had it's population abandoning it. Nyango drums to call back that population, to tell them not to forget about where they came from, because if everyone just moves to the big cities, then the real Japan just dies off, culturally. It doesn't matter who Nyango is, it matters what Kuroichi is, and what will it become.
